| 1 | 且爾曹素以罪愆而死、 | And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; |
| 2 | 從斯世之俗而行、服在空乘權之君、卽今運行於悖逆者之靈、 | Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: |
| 3 | 我儕亦嘗出入其中、徇形軀之情、行身心之欲、本爲服怒之輩、如他人然、 | Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. |
| 4 | 但上帝富有矜恤、以浩大之愛愛我、 | But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, |
| 5 | 於我儕因過而死時、偕基督而甦我、爾之得救、乃由恩耳、 | Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) |
| 6 | 且於基督耶穌、使我儕與之同起、亦同坐於天、 | And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: |
| 7 | 致由彼所施我儕之慈惠、彰其厚恩於後世焉、 | That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. |
| 8 | 蓋爾以恩得救、由信非由己、乃上帝所賜也、 | For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: |
| 9 | 非由乎行、免人自矜、 | Not of works, lest any man should boast. |
| 10 | 蓋我儕乃上帝之工、受造於基督耶穌中、致行善行、乃上帝所豫定、使我儕行之者也、○ | For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. |
| 11 | 故當記憶、爾昔以形軀爲異邦人、彼於形軀由人手所謂割者、謂爾爲無割者、 | Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; |
| 12 | 當時爾與基督相隔、與以色列民相異、外乎應許諸約、無有所望、在世無有上帝、 | That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: |
| 13 | 今則於基督耶穌、爾曹素爲遠者、以基督血而得近、 | But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. |
| 14 | 彼爲我儕之和、毀其間之藩籬、使二者爲一、 | For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; |
| 15 | 且於其形軀廢厥仇讐、卽誡命之律載於條例者、致於彼中、以二者造一新人而致和、 | Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; |
| 16 | 又以十架誅厥仇讐、聯二者爲一體、復和於上帝、 | And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: |
| 17 | 遂來宣和平於爾遠者及近者、 | And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. |
| 18 | 蓋我二者由彼、因一神而謁父、 | For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. |
| 19 | 如是、爾曹不復爲外人、爲客旅、乃與聖徒同籍、爲上帝之眷屬、 | Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; |
| 20 | 建於使徒先知之基、基督耶穌爲屋隅之首石、 | And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; |
| 21 | 諸宇於彼中結構、漸成主之聖殿、 | In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: |
| 22 | 爾曹亦共被建、爲上帝之居所、藉聖神而居焉、 | In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. |
