| 1 | 噫、富者歟、宜悲泣號咷、因苦難將臨於爾也、 | Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. |
| 2 | 爾財壞矣、爾衣蠹矣、 | Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. |
| 3 | 爾金銀銹矣、其銹將爲證於爾、且如火而蝕爾肉、爾已積財於末日也、 | Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. |
| 4 | 刈於爾田之工值、爾以詭譎不給、有聲籲呼、且刈者之呼號、已入萬軍之主之耳矣、 | Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. |
| 5 | 爾在世奢侈宴樂、饜爾心於宰割之日、 | Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. |
| 6 | 爾罪義者而殺之、彼不拒爾、○ | Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you. |
| 7 | 兄弟乎、宜恆忍以待主臨、試觀農人冀地之嘉產、恆忍以待、至得前後之雨、 | Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. |
| 8 | 爾亦宜恆忍、堅乃心、蓋主之臨伊邇也、 | Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. |
| 9 | 兄弟乎、勿相嗟怨、免爾受鞫、鞫者已立門前矣、 | Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. |
| 10 | 兄弟乎、取奉主名而言之諸先知、爲受苦恆忍之模範、 | Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. |
| 11 | 恆忍者、視爲有福、約伯之忍、爾聞之矣、主究竟如何、爾見之矣、蓋主極其慈悲矜恤也、○ | Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. |
| 12 | 我兄弟乎、天也、地也、他物也、勿指之而誓、惟是則是、否則否、免陷於鞫也、○ | But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation. |
| 13 | 爾中有憂苦者、則祈禱、有喜樂者、則歌頌、 | Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. |
| 14 | 有病者、則請會中長老、奉主名膏之以膏、爲之祈禱、 | Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: |
| 15 | 夫由信之祈禱、可救病者、主將起之、如其干罪、亦將赦之、 | And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. |
| 16 | 宜彼此認罪、互相祈禱、致可得愈、蓋義者之懇求、大有成效也、 | Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. |
| 17 | 以利亞之爲人、情同我儕、切求不雨、則不雨於地、歷三年有六月、 | Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. |
| 18 | 再求、則天賜雨、而地出其產焉、○ | And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. |
| 19 | 兄弟乎、爾中或迷失眞道、而有使之反正者、 | Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; |
| 20 | 當知使罪人反自迷途、乃救一人免死、掩罪多矣、 | Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. |
