| 1 | 以色列家歟、我爲爾作哀歌、爾其聽之、 | Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel. |
| 2 | 以色列處女顚仆、不得復振、被擲於其地、無人起之、 | The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up. |
| 3 | 主耶和華曰、以色列家之邑、出千人者遺百人、出百人者遺十人、 | For thus saith the Lord God; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel. |
| 4 | 故耶和華謂以色列家曰、爾其尋我則得生、 | For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live: |
| 5 | 勿尋伯特利、勿入吉甲、勿往別是巴、蓋吉甲必被虜掠、伯特利必爲虛無、 | But seek not Beth–el, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer–sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Beth–el shall come to nought. |
| 6 | 爾其尋耶和華則得生、免其若火發於約瑟家、而行焚燬、其在伯特利也、無撲滅者、 | Seek the Lord, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Beth–el. |
| 7 | 爾曹變公平爲茵蔯、委義於地、 | Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth, |
| 8 | 當求造昴參、變晦冥爲晨光、使白晝爲黑夜、召海水而傾之於地面者、耶和華其名也、 | Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name: |
| 9 | 彼令強者忽遭敗亡、以致毀滅及於保障、 | That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress. |
| 10 | 督責於邑門者、爾憎之、言正直者、亦惡之、 | They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly. |
| 11 | 以爾蹂躪貧人、橫征麥稅、雖以鑿石建室、不得居其中、雖植葡萄嘉園、不得飲其酒、 | Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them. |
| 12 | 蓋我知爾罪惡繁多、愆尤重大、虐義人而受賄賂、在邑門而枉窮民、 | For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right. |
| 13 | 斯乃奸惡之時、達人緘默、 | Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time. |
| 14 | 其求善、勿求惡、俾爾得生、則萬軍之上帝耶和華必偕爾、依爾所言焉、 | Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. |
| 15 | 爾其惡惡好善、在邑門立公義、庶幾萬軍之上帝耶和華、施恩於約瑟之遺民、 | Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph. |
| 16 | 主耶和華、萬軍之上帝曰、在諸廣場、人皆號咷、在諸街衢、人曰哀哉、哀哉、召農夫哀悼、召善哭者號咷、 | Therefore the Lord, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing. |
| 17 | 在諸葡萄園、亦必號咷、蓋我經行於爾中、耶和華言之矣、 | And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the Lord. |
| 18 | 爾望耶和華之日者禍哉、奚望耶和華之日、其日乃暗而非光也、 | Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light. |
| 19 | 如人避獅而遇熊、入室捫壁、被齧於蛇、 | As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. |
| 20 | 耶和華之日、非暗而無光、昏而無耀乎、 | Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it? |
| 21 | 爾之節期、我厭惡之、爾之肅會、我不悅之、 | I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. |
| 22 | 爾雖獻燔祭素祭、我不悅納、爾肥牲之酬恩祭、我不垂顧、 | Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. |
| 23 | 爾謳歌之聲、撤於我前、爾琴瑟之音、我不聽聞、 | Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. |
| 24 | 惟願公平如流水之滾滾、仁義如巨川之源源、 | But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream. |
| 25 | 以色列家歟、爾在曠野歷四十年、豈以犧牲素祭獻於我乎、 | Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel? |
| 26 | 爾舁爾王西弗、與爾之像基芸、卽爾之神星、爲己所造者、 | But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves. |
| 27 | 故我必使爾被虜至大馬色外、名爲萬軍之上帝耶和華言之矣、 | Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the Lord, whose name is The God of hosts. |
