| 1 | 耶穌基督之僕保羅提摩太、書達腓立比屬基督耶穌之諸聖徒、及諸監督執事、 | Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: |
| 2 | 願恩惠平康、由我父上帝、及主耶穌基督歸爾、○ | Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 3 | 我每懷念爾、則謝我上帝、 | I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, |
| 4 | 爲爾衆祈時、恆欣然而求、 | Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, |
| 5 | 緣爾自始迄今、共與福音、 | For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; |
| 6 | 我深信肇善工於爾曹者、必成之、以迄耶穌基督之日、 | Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: |
| 7 | 我如是念爾衆、宜也、蓋爾在我心、以爾於我縲絏中、及辯證福音之際、爾與我共與乎恩也、 | Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. |
| 8 | 我體耶穌基督之心、戀慕爾衆、上帝爲之證、 | For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. |
| 9 | 我所祈者、使爾之愛、於知識通達而愈充溢、 | And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; |
| 10 | 致能驗至善、純粹無疵、迄於基督之日、 | That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; |
| 11 | 由耶穌基督、充乎義之實、致榮與頌歸於上帝、○ | Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. |
| 12 | 兄弟乎、我欲爾知我所遭之事、適以廣福音之傳、 | But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; |
| 13 | 致我緣基督而受之縲絏、徧揚於御營、以及各方、 | So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; |
| 14 | 且使宗主之兄弟、多因我縲絏、益毅然宣上帝道而無懼、 | And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. |
| 15 | 夫宣基督、有出於媢嫉紛爭者、亦有出於善意者、 | Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: |
| 16 | 此則出於愛、知我之立、乃爲辯福音也、 | The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: |
| 17 | 彼則出於樹黨、非誠也、欲增我縲絏之苦耳、 | But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. |
| 18 | 然則何如乎、無論或僞或誠、基督是宣、我則樂之、且終樂之、 | What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. |
| 19 | 蓋我知此、由爾祈禱、及所賜耶穌基督之神、終必使我得救、 | For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, |
| 20 | 依我之企望、一無所愧、而毅然如常、今無論生死、惟使基督丕顯於我躬、 | According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. |
| 21 | 蓋我之生也、乃爲基督、死亦有益、 | For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. |
| 22 | 若生於形軀、成我功果、則不知當何擇也、 | But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. |
| 23 | 蓋我迫於二者之間、欲離而與基督偕在、是爲愈美、 | For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: |
| 24 | 但居於形軀、爲爾之故爲尤要、 | Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. |
| 25 | 旣深信此、則知我必仍存、且與爾衆同居、致爾進益而樂於道、 | And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; |
| 26 | 俾爾緣基督耶穌而誇者、因我而溢、以我復與爾同在也、 | That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again. |
| 27 | 惟爾處世、須合乎基督之福音、使我或就爾、或離爾、得聞爾事、卽爾堅立於一心一志、爲福音之道而戰、 | Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; |
| 28 | 槪毋爲敵所驚、其表彰也、於彼則爲敗亡、於爾則爲救濟、乃由上帝也、 | And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. |
| 29 | 蓋因基督賜爾、不第信之、亦爲之受苦、 | For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; |
| 30 | 爾有戰爭、乃如昔所見於我、今所聞於我者也、 | Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me. |
