1 疫癘之後、耶和華諭摩西、及祭司亞倫子以利亞撒曰、 And it came to pass after the plague, that the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,
2 當核以色列會衆、循其室家、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者核之、 Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, throughout their fathers’ house, all that are able to go to war in Israel.
3 遂在摩押平原、約但河濱、近耶利哥、摩西及祭司以利亞撒告衆云、 And Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,
4 當核民數、自二十歲以上者、循耶和華所諭出自埃及之摩西、與以色列衆之命、○ Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as the Lord commanded Moses and the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt.
5 以色列長子流便、流便之子哈諾、爲哈諾族祖、法路、爲法路族祖、 Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of Reuben; Hanoch, of whom cometh the family of the Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites:
6 希斯崙、爲希斯崙族祖、迦米、爲迦米族祖、 Of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
7 此流便之室家、見核者、計四萬三千七百三十人、 These are the families of the Reubenites: and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.
8 法路子以利押、 And the sons of Pallu; Eliab.
9 以利押子尼母利、大坍、亞比蘭、大坍亞比蘭乃在會中被簡者、與可拉黨同攻摩西亞倫、以逆耶和華、 And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan and Abiram, which were famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the Lord:
10 地張厥口而吞之、與可拉黨偕亡、當時二百五十人爲火所燬、垂爲鑑戒、 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign.
11 惟可拉子孫未亡焉、○ Notwithstanding the children of Korah died not.
12 西緬之子、循其室家、尼母利、爲尼母利族祖、雅憫、爲雅憫族祖、雅斤、爲雅斤族祖、 The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites: of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites: of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites:
13 謝拉、爲謝拉族祖、掃羅、爲掃羅族祖、 Of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites: of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.
14 此西緬之室家、見核者、計二萬二千二百人、○ These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred.
15 迦得之子、循其室家、洗分、爲洗分族祖、哈基、爲哈基族祖、書尼、爲書尼族祖、 The children of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites: of Haggi, the family of the Haggites: of Shuni, the family of the Shunites:
16 阿斯尼、爲阿斯尼族祖、以利、爲以利族祖、 Of Ozni, the family of the Oznites: of Eri, the family of the Erites:
17 亞律、爲亞律族祖、亞利利、爲亞利利族祖、 Of Arod, the family of the Arodites: of Areli, the family of the Arelites.
18 此迦得之室家、見核者、計四萬有五百人、○ These are the families of the children of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.
19 猶大子珥、俄南、俱死於迦南、 The sons of Judah were Er and Onan: and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
20 猶大之子、循其室家、示拉、爲示拉族祖、法勒斯、爲法勒斯族祖、謝拉、爲謝拉族祖、 And the sons of Judah after their families were; of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites: of Pharez, the family of the Pharzites: of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites.
21 法勒斯之子希斯崙、爲希斯崙族祖、哈母勒、爲哈母勒族祖、 And the sons of Pharez were; of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.
22 此猶大之室家、見核者、計七萬六千五百人、○ These are the families of Judah according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and sixteen thousand and five hundred.
23 以薩迦之子、循其室家、陀拉、爲陀拉族祖、普瓦、爲普瓦族祖、 Of the sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites: of Pua, the family of the Punites:
24 雅述、爲雅述族祖、伸崙、爲伸崙族祖、 Of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites: of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.
25 此以薩迦之室家、見核者、計六萬四千三百人、○ These are the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and four thousand and three hundred.
26 西布倫之子、循其室家、西列、爲西列族祖、以倫、爲以倫族祖、雅利、爲雅利族祖、 Of the sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Sardites: of Elon, the family of the Elonites: of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.
27 此西布倫之室家、見核者、計六萬有五百人、○ These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those that were numbered of them, threescore thousand and five hundred.
28 約瑟之子、循其室家、瑪拿西、以法蓮、 The sons of Joseph after their families were Manasseh and Ephraim.
29 瑪拿西之子瑪吉、爲瑪吉族祖、瑪吉生基列、爲基列族祖、 Of the sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites: and Machir begat Gilead: of Gilead come the family of the Gileadites.
30 基列之子伊以謝、爲伊以謝族祖、希勒、爲希勒族祖、 These are the sons of Gilead: of Jeezer, the family of the Jeezerites: of Helek, the family of the Helekites:
31 亞斯烈、爲亞斯烈族祖、示劍、爲示劍族祖、 And of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites: and of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites:
32 示米大、爲示米大族祖、希弗、爲希弗族祖、 And of Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites: and of Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
33 希弗子西羅非哈無子、有女名瑪拉、挪阿、曷拉、密迦、得撒、 And Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
34 此瑪拿西之室家、見核者、計五萬二千七百人、○ These are the families of Manasseh, and those that were numbered of them, fifty and two thousand and seven hundred.
35 以法蓮之子、循其室家、書提拉、爲書提拉族祖、比結、爲比結族祖、他罕、爲他罕族祖、 These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthalhites: of Becher, the family of the Bachrites: of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.
36 書提拉之子以蘭、爲以蘭族祖、 And these are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.
37 此以法蓮之室家、見核者、計三萬二千五百人、以上所載、乃約瑟之子孫、循其室家、○ These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph after their families.
38 便雅憫之子、循其室家、比拉、爲比拉族祖、亞實別、爲亞實別族祖、亞希蘭、爲亞希蘭族祖、 The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites: of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites: of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites:
39 書反、爲書反族祖、戶反、爲戶反族祖、 Of Shupham, the family of the Shuphamites: of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.
40 比拉之子亞勒、乃幔、亞勒、爲亞勒族祖、乃幔、爲乃幔族祖、 And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman: of Ard, the family of the Ardites: and of Naaman, the family of the Naamites.
41 此便雅憫之子孫、循其室家、見核者、計四萬五千六百人、○ These are the sons of Benjamin after their families: and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and six hundred.
42 但之子、循其室家、書含、爲書含族祖、 These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.
43 書含之室家見核者、計六萬四千四百人、○ All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were threescore and four thousand and four hundred.
44 亞設之子、循其室家、音拿、爲音拿族祖、亦施韋、爲亦施韋族祖、比利亞、爲比利亞族祖、 Of the children of Asher after their families: of Jimna, the family of the Jimnites: of Jesui, the family of the Jesuites: of Beriah, the family of the Beriites.
45 比利亞之子希別、爲希別族祖、瑪結、爲瑪結族祖、 Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites: of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.
46 亞設之女名西拉、 And the name of the daughter of Asher was Sarah.
47 此亞設之子孫、循其室家、見核者、計五萬三千四百人、○ These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them; who were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
48 拿弗他利之子、循其室家、雅薛、爲雅薛族祖、沽尼、爲沽尼族祖、 Of the sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites: of Guni, the family of the Gunites:
49 耶色、爲耶色族祖、示冷、爲示冷族祖、 Of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites: of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
50 此拿弗他利之子孫、循其室家、見核者、計四萬五千四百人、 These are the families of Naphtali according to their families: and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and four hundred.
51 以色列族見核者、共計六十萬一千七百三十人、○ These were the numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred thousand and a thousand seven hundred and thirty.
52 耶和華諭摩西曰、 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
53 分土與衆爲業、循其名數、 Unto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.
54 人衆則給業多、人寡則給業少、所給之業、依其所核之數、 To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.
55 惟地必掣籤而分之、循厥祖之支派、而得其業、 Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.
56 衆寡之間、所當分者、掣籤而定、 According to the lot shall the possession thereof be divided between many and few.
57 利未之族、循其室家、見核者、革順、爲革順族祖、哥轄、爲哥轄族祖、米拉利、爲米拉利族祖、 And these are they that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites: of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites: of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
58 利未之室家、乃立尼家、希伯倫家、瑪利家、母示家、可拉家、 These are the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korathites. And Kohath begat Amram.
59 哥轄生暗蘭、暗蘭之妻、乃利未之孫、生於埃及、名約基別、適暗蘭生亞倫、摩西、與其姊米利暗、 And the name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom her mother bare to Levi in Egypt: and she bare unto Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.
60 亞倫生拿答、亞比戶、以利亞撒、以他瑪、 And unto Aaron was born Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
61 拿答亞比戶以不聖之火、獻於耶和華而死、 And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before the Lord.
62 利未族之丁男、自一月以上見核者、計二萬有三千、未與以色列族同核、因於以色列中未得其業、 And those that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, all males from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.
63 以上所載、乃在摩押平原、約但河濱、耶利哥相對之所、摩西與祭司以利亞撒、所核以色列之衆、 These are they that were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.
64 昔在西乃野、摩西與祭司亞倫所核以色列人中、今無一人在其數者、 But among these there was not a man of them whom Moses and Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
65 蓋耶和華曾有言曰、其人必死於曠野、故耶孚尼子迦勒、嫩之子約書亞而外、靡有孑遺、 For the Lord had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
