| 1 | 萬軍之耶和華曰、我遣我使備路於我前、爾所求之主、必忽臨厥殿、盟約之使、爾所慕者、將至矣、 | Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 2 | 彼至之日、誰能當之、彼顯之時、誰能立乎、蓋彼若煆金之火、如漂布之鹼、 | But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: |
| 3 | 將坐、如煉銀而潔之者、以潔利未子孫、煉之若金銀、則必依義獻祭於耶和華、 | And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. |
| 4 | 斯時猶大與耶路撒冷之祭、必見悅於耶和華、有如曩日昔年、 | Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years. |
| 5 | 我必蒞臨、行鞫於爾、凡巫覡及淫亂妄誓、負傭值、欺孤寡、屈賓旅、而不畏我者、我必亟證之、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、 | And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 6 | 我耶和華不變易、故爾雅各子孫、不見翦滅、○ | For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. |
| 7 | 萬軍之耶和華曰、自爾列祖之日、爾偏離我律例、而不守之、當返於我、我則返於爾、爾乃曰於何而返乎、 | Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return? |
| 8 | 人可行竊於上帝乎、爾乃行竊於我、爾曰於何行竊於爾、在於輸什一、及獻禮物也、 | Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. |
| 9 | 爾受詛矣、蓋舉國行竊於我也、 | Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. |
| 10 | 萬軍之耶和華曰、其輸什一、悉歸府庫、俾我室中有糧、以此試我、是否爲爾啟天之牖、傾福於爾、無地可容、 | Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. |
| 11 | 我將爲爾責吞噬者、俾不壞爾土產、爾田間之葡萄、不先期而隕、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、 | And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 12 | 萬民必稱爾有福、爾國將爲樂土、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、○ | And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 13 | 耶和華曰、爾以狂悖之言逆我、乃曰、我以何言逆爾乎、 | Your words have been stout against me, saith the Lord. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee? |
| 14 | 爾曰、奉事上帝、乃徒然耳、我遵其命、於萬軍之耶和華前殷憂而行、何益之有、 | Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the Lord of hosts? |
| 15 | 我儕則謂狂傲者有福、行惡者建立、試上帝而獲免、 | And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered. |
| 16 | 是時寅畏耶和華者相語、耶和華乃傾耳而聽之、爲凡寅畏耶和華、而思念其名者、錄誌書於其前、 | Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name. |
| 17 | 萬軍之耶和華曰屆我所定之期、斯人必屬於我、爲我之業、我必矜恤之、若人矜恤事己之子、 | And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. |
| 18 | 當斯時也、義與不義者、事上帝與不事上帝者、爾將轉而分辨之、 | Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. |
