| 1 | 爾祭司歟、斯命乃爲爾也、 | And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. |
| 2 | 萬軍之耶和華曰、如爾不聽、不置於心、歸榮我名、我必降詛於爾、詛爾福祉、我已詛之、以爾不置於心也、 | If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. |
| 3 | 我必斥爾之種子、以爾犧牲之糞、塗於爾面、爾與斯糞、同被移徙、 | Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it. |
| 4 | 爾則知我傳斯命於爾、乃堅我與利未所立之約、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、 | And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 5 | 我與利未立約、賜以生命平康、使之寅畏、彼則敬我、寅畏我名、 | My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name. |
| 6 | 其口存眞實之法律、其脣無不義、彼以和平正直、偕我而行、俾多人轉離其罪愆、 | The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity. |
| 7 | 祭司之脣、宜存智識、人當求法律於其口、以其爲萬軍耶和華之使也、 | For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. |
| 8 | 惟爾偏離其道、俾多人躓於法律、利未之約、爾亦爽之、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、 | But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 9 | 因爾未守我道、在於法律、偏以待人、故我使爾成爲可厭、衆民所鄙、○ | Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law. |
| 10 | 我儕非共一父乎、非一上帝所造乎、胡爲昆弟相欺、侮我列祖之約、 | Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers? |
| 11 | 猶大曾行詭詐、在以色列與耶路撒冷中、有行可憎之事、蓋猶大侮耶和華所悅之聖潔、娶事異神之女、 | Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the Lord which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god. |
| 12 | 凡行此之人、或巡邏者、或應答者、及獻祭於萬軍之耶和華者、耶和華必絕之於雅各幕中、 | The Lord will cut off the man that doeth this, the master and the scholar, out of the tabernacles of Jacob, and him that offereth an offering unto the Lord of hosts. |
| 13 | 爾復有所行、卽使哀哭、歎息涕泣、遍於耶和華之壇、致耶和華不復顧爾禮物、不由爾手樂納之也、 | And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand. |
| 14 | 惟爾曰、奚爲哉、乃因耶和華在爾與爾少時之妻間爲證、彼雖爲爾伉儷、盟約之妻、而爾以詐僞待之、 | Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the Lord hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant. |
| 15 | 上帝生氣雖有餘裕、祇造一人、何以惟一、乃求聖裔耳、故當謹守爾心、勿以詐僞待少時之妻、 | And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. |
| 16 | 以色列之上帝耶和華曰、出妻之事、與以強暴待其妻者、我恨惡之、故當謹守爾心、勿行詭詐、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、○ | For the Lord, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the Lord of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously. |
| 17 | 爾旣以言煩凟耶和華、乃曰於何煩凟之、爾言凡行惡者、耶和華視之爲善、且欣悅之、不然、秉公之上帝安在哉、 | Ye have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment? |
