| 2 | 書達愛子提摩太、願恩惠矜恤平康、由父上帝及我主基督耶穌歸爾、○ | To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. |
| 3 | 我謝自我列祖以清潔之良、崇事之上帝、於祈禱間、念爾不輟、 | I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; |
| 4 | 憶爾之涕泗、晝夜企慕見爾、以充我樂、 | Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy; |
| 5 | 蓋念爾衷無僞之信、卽昔寓於爾祖母羅以、及爾母友尼基者、我深信於爾亦然、 | When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. |
| 6 | 故我令爾記憶、俾於上主之恩賜復熾、卽由我按手而在爾衷者、 | Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. |
| 7 | 蓋上帝非賜我儕以畏葸之心、乃以能與愛及自守者也、 | For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. |
| 8 | 故勿以證主爲恥、亦勿以我爲主被囚爲恥、惟依上帝之能、與福音共患難、 | Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; |
| 9 | 彼救我儕、召以聖召、非依我儕之行、乃依己旨與恩、此恩卽永世之先、由基督耶穌賜我儕者、 | Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, |
| 10 | 今由我救者基督耶穌之顯而彰著、彼已廢死、且以福音、俾維生與不朽者昭明焉、 | But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: |
| 11 | 我爲此立爲宣告者、爲使徒、爲師傅、 | Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. |
| 12 | 職是之故、我受諸苦而不恥、蓋識我所信者、且深信其能守我所託、以至彼日、 | For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. |
| 13 | 爾當以基督耶穌中之信與愛、守正言之模範、卽爾所聞於我者、 | Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. |
| 14 | 昔託爾之善事、宜以居於我儕中之聖神守之、○ | That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us. |
| 15 | 爾知凡在亞西亞者、俱已背我、其中有腓吉路、黑摩其尼、 | This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes. |
| 16 | 願主矜恤阿尼色弗家、彼屢慰我、不以我之縲絏爲恥、 | The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain: |
| 17 | 在羅馬時、殷勤覓我而遇之、 | But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me. |
| 18 | 願主使蒙矜恤於彼日、彼在以弗所多方事我、爾知之稔矣、 | The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well. |
