| 1 | 凡服軛之奴、當視其主爲可尊、免上帝之名與教受謗也、 | Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. |
| 2 | 其主爲信徒、勿因其爲兄弟而輕視之、宜服事維勤、蓋得其善工者、乃信而蒙愛者也、爾當以此訓之勸之、○ | And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort. |
| 3 | 若有傳異教、不從我主耶穌基督之正言、不依敬虔之教者、 | If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; |
| 4 | 乃自衒無知、惟務言詞之爭辯、致生媢嫉、爭競、訕謗、妄疑、 | He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, |
| 5 | 及壞心志喪眞理者之紛爭、彼以敬虔爲利途也、 | Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. |
| 6 | 然敬虔而知足、其利大矣、 | But godliness with contentment is great gain. |
| 7 | 蓋我儕入世、無所攜來、逝世亦無所攜去、 | For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. |
| 8 | 惟有衣食、卽當知足、 | And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. |
| 9 | 圖富有者、則陷於誘惑與機檻、及無知有害之諸慾、乃溺人於滅亡者也、 | But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. |
| 10 | 蓋好利爲萬惡之根、有慕之者、迷失乎信、以多苦自刺焉、○ | For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. |
| 11 | 惟爾屬上帝者、宜遠此、而趨於義、及虔、信、愛、忍、謙、 | But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. |
| 12 | 當爲道而戰善戰、持乎永生、卽爾爲之奉召、於衆證者前、已承其善承矣、 | Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. |
| 13 | 我於發育萬有之上帝、及證善承於本丟彼拉多之基督耶穌前、 | I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; |
| 14 | 諭爾宜守此命、無玷無責、俟我主耶穌基督之顯、 | That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: |
| 15 | 屆期、有可頌唯一秉權者、爲諸王之王、諸主之主、將示之、 | Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; |
| 16 | 惟彼永生、居於不得近之光中、人所未見、亦不能見、願至尊與永權歸之、阿們、○ | Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. |
| 17 | 當諭今世之富有者、志勿高、勿望無定之財、惟望上帝、卽厚以百物賜我者、 | Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; |
| 18 | 又諭之爲善、富於善行、喜於施濟、樂與衆共、 | That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; |
| 19 | 爲己積累善基、以備厥後、俾持維生、卽眞生也、○ | Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. |
| 20 | 提摩太乎、宜守所託、遠不經之虛談、及僞智之抵禦、 | O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: |
| 21 | 有人以此自許、而於道則失之矣、○願恩偕爾曹焉、 | Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. The first to Timothy was written from Laodicea, which is the chiefest city of Phrygia Pacatiana. |
