| 1 | 我所首勸爾者、爾當爲衆呼籲、祈禱、懇求、祝謝、 | I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; |
| 2 | 並爲諸王及一切在位者、俾我儕敬虔莊重、和平安靜、以度光陰、 | For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. |
| 3 | 斯爲美、且見納於救我之上帝前、 | For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; |
| 4 | 彼欲萬人得救、洞悉眞理、 | Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. |
| 5 | 蓋上帝惟一、上帝與人之間、中保亦惟一、是亦人也、卽基督耶穌也、 | For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; |
| 6 | 其捐己贖衆、屆期有證、 | Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. |
| 7 | 我爲此見立爲使徒、爲宣告者、以信以誠、爲列邦之師、我言乃眞、而非誑也、○ | Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. |
| 8 | 故我欲人無怒無爭、舉維聖之手、隨在祈禱、 | I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. |
| 9 | 亦欲婦女衣雅素之衣、以廉恥貞正自飾、勿飾以編髮金珠、及價重之衣、 | In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; |
| 10 | 惟由善行、是乃自許爲敬虔者所宜、 | But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. |
| 11 | 宜靜默學道、諸凡順服、 | Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. |
| 12 | 我不許婦女施教、擅權於夫、惟宜靜默、 | But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. |
| 13 | 蓋亞當受造在先、夏娃在後、 | For Adam was first formed, then Eve. |
| 14 | 且非亞當見誘、乃婦見誘、而陷於罪、 | And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. |
| 15 | 然若恆於信愛貞潔、則將由產育而得救、 | Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. |
