| 2 | 書達提摩太、因信爲我眞子者、願恩惠矜恤平康、由父上帝、及我主基督耶穌歸爾、○ | Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. |
| 3 | 昔我往馬其頓時、勸爾居以弗所、警戒數人、勿傳異教、 | As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, |
| 4 | 勿聽虛誕之詞、及無窮譜系、此第滋生辯論、非因信而爲上帝之役事、 | Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. |
| 5 | 夫警戒之大旨乃愛、由於清潔之心、懿美之良、無僞之信、 | Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: |
| 6 | 乃有失此而向虛誕、 | From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; |
| 7 | 欲爲律師而不明其所言、並所論定者、 | Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. |
| 8 | 我知律善、惟人善用之、 | But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; |
| 9 | 蓋知律之設、非爲義者、乃爲不法、妄行、不虔、干罪、不潔、妄誕、弒父、弒母、殺人、 | Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, |
| 10 | 淫亂、比頑童、拐人口、誑言、背誓、及一切違逆正教者、 | For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; |
| 11 | 乃依可頌之上帝、託我有榮之福音、○ | According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. |
| 12 | 感謝以能賜我者、我主基督耶穌是也、彼視我爲忠、任我以職、 | And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; |
| 13 | 昔我爲謗讟窘逐狎侮者、但我所行、乃由不知不信、故蒙矜恤、 | Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. |
| 14 | 且我主之恩充溢、兼以信與愛、在基督耶穌中者、 | And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. |
| 15 | 基督耶穌臨世以救罪人、誠哉是言、宜盡納之、其中我爲元惡、 | This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. |
| 16 | 然我蒙矜恤、俾耶穌基督於我爲首者、彰厥恆忍、爲後信而得永生者之模範、 | Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. |
| 17 | 願尊榮歸於永世、無敝無形之王、唯一之上帝、爰及世世、阿們、○ | Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. |
| 18 | 我子提摩太乎、我依昔指爾之豫言、以此警戒託爾、致爾以之而戰善戰、 | This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; |
| 19 | 守乎信與懿美之良、蓋有棄此者、論及其信、則如舟之破壞然、 | Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: |
| 20 | 其中有許米乃、亞力山大、我曾付之撒但、俾受譴責、勿復謗讟、 | Of whom is Hymeneus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme. |
