| 1 | 惟爾所言、宜符正教、 | But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: |
| 2 | 使耆老節制、莊重、貞正、於信愛忍而無疚焉、 | That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. |
| 3 | 使老婦之舉止端肅、毋讒毀、毋役於酒、以善訓人、 | The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; |
| 4 | 俾迪少婦愛夫愛子、 | That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, |
| 5 | 貞正、清潔、善良、操作於家、服從其夫、以免上帝之道見謗、 | To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. |
| 6 | 幼男亦當勸以貞正、 | Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. |
| 7 | 爾凡事自表爲善行之模楷、其施教也、無邪而嚴重、 | In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, |
| 8 | 言正無可咎責、使違逆者自愧、末由以惡議我儕、 | Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. |
| 9 | 勸僕服其主、凡事悅之、毋抵捂、 | Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; |
| 10 | 毋私取、惟表其忠、俾凡事修明我救者上帝之道、 | Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. |
| 11 | 蓋上帝救濟萬人之恩已顯、 | For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, |
| 12 | 教我儕棄絕不虔、與世俗之慾、而以貞正、公義、敬虔、度日於今世、 | Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; |
| 13 | 仰慕有福之望、及皇矣上帝、我救者基督耶穌之榮顯著、 | Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; |
| 14 | 彼爲我儕捐己、贖我出諸不法、且潔其民以爲己業、乃熱衷於善者也、 | Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. |
| 15 | 凡此、爾宜言之勸之、以諸權督責之、勿爲人輕視焉、 | These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. |
