| 3 | 兄弟乎、我爲爾恆謝上帝、宜也、因爾之信彌長、彼此之愛益增、 | We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; |
| 4 | 致我儕於上帝諸會、以爾爲誇、緣爾在窘逐苦難中之忍與信也、 | So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: |
| 5 | 此乃上帝義鞫之表、視爾宜乎其國、卽爾爲之受苦者、 | Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: |
| 6 | 蓋以苦報夫苦爾者、以偕我之安報爾受苦者、乃上帝之義也、 | Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; |
| 7 | 迨主耶穌偕其有能之天使、於火燄中自天顯見、報夫不識上帝、不順我主耶穌之福音者、 | And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, |
| 8 | 迨主耶穌偕其有能之天使、於火燄中自天顯見、報夫不識上帝、不順我主耶穌之福音者、 | In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: |
| 9 | 彼將受刑、永滅於主、及其大能之榮前、 | Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; |
| 10 | 在主降臨之日、於諸聖者而得榮、於諸信者而見異、蓋我儕所證於爾者、爾已信之、 | When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. |
| 11 | 故我恆爲爾祈禱、俾我上帝視爾克稱其召、以能成爾由善諸願、由信諸工、 | Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: |
