| 1 | 兄弟乎、論及我主耶穌基督之臨、我儕會集其前、 | Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, |
| 2 | 我求爾曹、勿輒動心驚怖、或以靈、或以言、或似由我之書、以爲主之日已至、 | That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. |
| 3 | 槪勿爲人所誘、其先必有乖離之事、及罪惡之人、卽淪亡之子顯著也、 | Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; |
| 4 | 此乃悖逆自尊、以抗乎凡稱爲上帝、及受崇拜者、甚至坐於上帝殿、自命爲上帝、 | Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. |
| 5 | 我偕爾時、曾以此告爾、爾不憶乎、 | Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? |
| 6 | 爾知今有阻之者、致彼屆期而顯、 | And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. |
| 7 | 蓋不法之隱慝已萌、惟今有阻之者、迨彼見移時、 | For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. |
| 8 | 不法者將顯、主耶穌以其口之氣誅之、以其臨之顯滅之、 | And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: |
| 9 | 彼之來、乃依撒但之工作、行諸異能異兆、及諸僞蹟、 | Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, |
| 10 | 又以非義之諸詭譎、加於淪亡者、因其不納眞理之愛、致得救也、 | And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. |
| 11 | 故上帝施以乖謬、致信誑言、 | And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: |
| 12 | 俾凡不信眞理、而悅不義者服鞫、○ | That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. |
| 13 | 主所愛之兄弟、我當爲爾恆謝上帝、以其自始選爾得救、聖之以神、眞理是信也、 | But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: |
| 14 | 緣此、上帝曾以我儕之福音召爾、俾得我主耶穌基督之榮、 | Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 15 | 故兄弟宜堅立、我所授之遺傳、或於言、或於書、宜持守之、○ | Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. |
| 16 | 願我主耶穌基督、與我父上帝、卽愛我儕、而以恩賜我永慰善望者、 | Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, |
| 17 | 慰爾之心、而堅爾於諸善言善行焉、 | Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. |
