| 1 | 蓋我欲爾知、我爲爾與在老底嘉之人、及凡未覿我面者、如何盡力、 | For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; |
| 2 | 俾其心受慰、以愛相聯、穎悟充實而致富有、克知上帝之奧祕、卽基督也、 | That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; |
| 3 | 凡智慧知識之寶藏、皆韞於彼、 | In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. |
| 4 | 我言此、免人以巧言誘爾、 | And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. |
| 5 | 蓋我身雖暌違、心則偕爾、喜見爾篤信基督、秩然有序也、○ | For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. |
| 6 | 爾旣承受主基督耶穌、亦宜由之而行、 | As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: |
| 7 | 且於彼也、深根而建造、堅立於信、如爾昔所受之教、而溢於祝謝焉、○ | Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. |
| 8 | 愼之哉、勿爲人之理學虛誣所虜、卽依人之遺傳、世之小學、不依基督也、 | Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. |
| 9 | 蓋上帝性體之充盛、悉寓其身、 | For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. |
| 10 | 彼爲諸政諸權之首、爾曹亦由之而得充盛、 | And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: |
| 11 | 且於彼受割、非以手所行者、乃由基督之割、而革情欲之身、○ | In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: |
| 12 | 蓋以洗禮與之同葬、亦與之同起、由於信上帝之功用、卽自死而起之者也、 | Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. |
| 13 | 爾曹素以愆尤、與未割之情欲而死、上帝亦使爾曹與彼同甦、悉赦爾之愆尤、 | And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; |
| 14 | 塗抹繩我之券、卽所載諸儀文以敵我者也、於焉除之、釘之十架、 | Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; |
| 15 | 且虜諸政諸權、明徇於衆、而奏凱焉、○ | And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. |
| 16 | 是以勿因飲食、節期、月朔、安息日、被人擬議、 | Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: |
| 17 | 此皆後事之影、其形乃屬基督、 | Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. |
| 18 | 勿容人以故作謙卑、崇拜天使、奪爾之賞、彼拘於己見、徇其情欲而自矜、 | Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, |
| 19 | 不固持元首、夫元首、乃全體所由、以節以維、而得資助聯絡、以上帝之長而長也、○ | And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. |
| 20 | 爾曹旣與基督同死、以絕世之小學、胡爲從乎世、服於儀文乎、 | Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, |
| 21 | 如謂勿執、勿嘗、勿捫、 | (Touch not; taste not; handle not; |
| 22 | 是皆依人所命所教、用之必敗、 | Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? |
| 23 | 似有智慧之名、實以私意崇拜、故作謙卑、刻苦其身、究無所益、以克形軀之饜也、 | Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. |
