1 願爾姑容我愚、爾誠容我、 Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
2 我以上帝之眷戀、眷戀於爾、蓋我已聘爾於一夫、如貞女以獻於基督也、 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 惟恐爾心偏邪、頓失向基督之純潔、如夏娃爲蛇詭誘者然、 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 設來者別宣一耶穌、非我所宣者、或爾別受一靈、非昔所受者、或別承一福音、非昔所承者、爾容之可也、 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
5 我自謂不亞於至大使徒、 For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.
6 我言雖鄙、而智則不然、乃凡事向爾而顯之於衆、 But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.
7 我自居卑、致爾高舉、傳爾以上帝福音而無值、此爲罪乎、 Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?
8 我奪他會之值、以爲爾役、 I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.
9 偕爾時乏於用、未累一人、自馬其頓來之兄弟、補我所乏、我凡事自守、不至累爾、終必自守、 And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.
10 我衷基督之誠、於亞該亞境內、無人阻我此誇也、 As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
11 何也、我不爾愛耶、上帝知之焉、 Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.
12 但我所行者、終必行之、以絕機於尋機者、使其所誇無異於我、 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
13 若輩乃僞使徒、行事詭譎、貌爲基督使徒、 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 原無足怪、蓋撒但亦貌爲光明之使、 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 其役貌爲義役、非大事也、其報必依其所行、○ Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
16 我復有言、人勿以我爲愚、若然、仍當以愚納我、俾我稍以自誇、 I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little.
17 此言、非主命也、乃若愚者自信而誇、 That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.
18 旣有多人依形軀而誇、則我亦誇矣、 Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.
19 爾旣爲智、於愚者則欣然容之、 For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise.
20 人若僕爾、噬爾、虜爾、侮爾、批爾、爾則容之、 For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.
21 我言此、乃卑己、如嘗懦弱、但人所毅然、我亦毅然、斯言有若愚也、 I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.
22 彼希伯來人乎、我亦然、彼以色列人乎、我亦然、彼亞伯拉罕之裔乎、我亦然、 Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.
23 彼基督之役乎、我則逾之、此言若狂、蓋我多勤勞、多繫獄、數被箠楚、屢瀕於死、 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
24 受猶太人鞭者五、每四十減一、 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.
25 杖責者三、石擊者一、舟壞者三、一日夜在深海、 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
26 屢經跋涉、危於河、危於寇、危於同族、危於異邦、危於邑、危於野、危於海、危於僞兄弟、 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
27 勞而苦、屢廢寢、飢而渴、屢絕食、寒而裸、 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
28 此外、更有日集於我者、卽爲諸會之慮也、 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.
29 誰弱而我不弱乎、誰躓而我心不如焚乎、 Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?
30 我若必誇、則誇我弱、 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.
31 永頌之上帝、主耶穌之父、知我不誑、 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.
32 在大馬色亞哩達王之邑宰、嚴守其城以捉我、 In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me:
33 我乃自牖、以筐縋垣而脫之、 And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.
