| 1 | 我非自由乎、非使徒乎、非曾見我主耶穌乎、爾曹非我宗主之工乎、 | Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? |
| 2 | 我於他人、設非使徒、於爾曹則誠是、蓋爾在主中、卽我爲使徒之印證也、 | If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord. |
| 3 | 有詰我者、我以此白之、 | Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, |
| 4 | 我豈無權式飲式食乎、 | Have we not power to eat and to drink? |
| 5 | 豈無權娶信女、攜之同行、如他使徒、及主之兄弟、與磯法乎、 | Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? |
| 6 | 抑我及巴拿巴、獨無權不操作乎、 | Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? |
| 7 | 誰作軍士自備餉乎、誰植葡萄園不食其果乎、誰牧畜不食其乳乎、 | Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? |
| 8 | 我豈依人意而言、律非亦如是言乎、 | Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? |
| 9 | 蓋摩西律載云、踏穀之牛、勿籠其口、上帝之意豈在牛乎、 | For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? |
| 10 | 非槪爲我儕言之乎、固爲我儕而書也、因耕者當以所望而耕、打穀者宜有共得之望、 | Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. |
| 11 | 我儕播爾以屬乎靈者、則穫爾屬乎身者、豈爲過乎、 | If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? |
| 12 | 他人且操此權、況我儕乎、然我儕不爲也、寧凡事容忍、免阻基督福音、 | If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. |
| 13 | 豈不知事聖事者食諸殿、侍祭壇者與於壇乎、 | Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? |
| 14 | 主命宣福音者以福音而生亦如是、 | Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. |
| 15 | 然此權、我皆未行之、今書此、非欲爾如是待我、蓋我寧死、不使我所詡者歸於虛也、 | But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void. |
| 16 | 夫我宣福音、無可自詡、不得已耳、若不宣之、則禍矣、 | For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! |
| 17 | 若我有志爲之、則有賞、卽非我志、其任已託於我、 | For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. |
| 18 | 然則我之賞維何、卽宣福音、使人不費而得之、免我盡用福音之權也、 | What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. |
| 19 | 蓋我於衆雖爲自由、而自役於衆、致獲人愈多、 | For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. |
| 20 | 於猶太人、我則如猶太人、以獲猶太人、於律下人、我雖非在律下、乃如律下人、以獲律下人、 | And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; |
| 21 | 於律外人、我則如律外人、以獲律外人、然我非在上帝律外、乃在基督律下也、 | To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. |
| 22 | 於弱者則爲弱者、以獲弱者、於衆則如衆、多方以救數人、 | To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. |
| 23 | 我所爲者、皆爲福音而爲、致我與人共與之、 | And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you. |
| 24 | 豈不知馳逐於場者、其人雖衆、而得賞者惟一、爾當如是馳逐、如欲得賞者然、 | Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. |
| 25 | 凡角勝者、諸事節制、彼第欲得將敝之冠、我乃欲得不敝之冠也、 | And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. |
| 26 | 故我馳逐、非如無定、我搏鬬、非如擊空、 | I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: |
| 27 | 乃攻克己身、使之服從、恐我宣諸人、而自見棄焉、 | But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. |
