(By David.) / Trust the Don't be annoyed by anyone who does wrong, and don't envy them.
Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. |
They will soon disappear like grass without rain. | For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Trust the Lord and live right! The land will be yours, and you will be safe. | Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Do what the Lord wants, and he will give you your heart's desire. | Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Let the Lord lead you and trust him to help. | Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Then it will be as clear as the noonday sun that you were right. | And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
Be patient and trust the Lord. Don't let it bother you when all goes well for those who do sinful things. | Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Don't be angry or furious. Anger can lead to sin. | Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
All sinners will disappear, but if you trust the Lord, the land will be yours. | For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.
Sinners will soon disappear, never to be found, | For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
but the poor will take the land and enjoy a big harvest. | But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Merciless people make plots against good people and snarl like animals, | The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
but the Lord laughs and knows their time is coming soon. | The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
The wicked kill with swords and shoot arrows to murder the poor and the needy and all who do right. | The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
But they will be killed by their own swords, and their arrows will be broken. | Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
It is better to live right and be poor than to be sinful and rich. | A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
The wicked will lose all of their power, but the Lord gives strength to everyone who is good. | For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.
Those who obey the Lord are daily in his care, and what he has given them will be theirs forever. | The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
They won't be in trouble when times are bad, and they will have plenty when food is scarce. | They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
Wicked people are enemies of the Lord and will vanish like smoke from a field on fire. | But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
An evil person borrows and never pays back; a good person is generous and never stops giving. | The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
Everyone the Lord blesses will receive the land; everyone the Lord curses will be destroyed. | For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
If you do what the Lord wants, he will make certain each step you take is sure. | The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
The Lord will hold your hand, and if you stumble, you still won't fall. | Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.
As long as I can remember, good people have never been left helpless, and their children have never gone begging for food. | I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
They gladly give and lend, and their children turn out good. | He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
If you stop sinning and start doing right, you will keep living and be secure forever. | Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
The Lord loves justice, and he won't ever desert his faithful people. He always protects them, but destroys the children of the wicked. | For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
God's people will own the land and live here forever. | The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
Words of wisdom come when good people speak for justice. | The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
They remember God's teachings, and they never take a wrong step. | The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
The wicked try to trap and kill good people, | The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
but the Lord is on their side, and he will defend them when they are on trial. | The Lord will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
Trust the Lord and follow him. He will give you the land, and you will see the wicked destroyed. | Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
I have seen brutal people abuse others and grow strong like trees in rich soil. | I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
Suddenly they disappeared! I looked, but they were gone and no longer there. | Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
Think of the bright future waiting for all the families of honest, innocent, and peace-loving people. | Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
But not a trace will be left of the wicked or their families. | But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
The Lord protects his people, and they can come to him in times of trouble. | But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
The Lord helps his people and saves them from the wicked because they run to him. | And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.
