1	Hiob setzt das Gespräch fort Da antwortete Hiob und sagte:	But Job answered and said,
2	Welch große Hilfe bist du doch für den, der keine Kraft mehr hat! Wie du ihm beistehst und unter die Arme greifst.	How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?
3	Welch kluge Ratschläge gibst du doch dem, der nicht mehr weiterweiß! Wie du ihn überschüttest mit deinen Weisheiten.	How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?
4	Wer hat dir denn bei deinem Vortrag geholfen? Welcher Geist hat dir das alles eingegeben?	To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?
5	Sieh doch, wie die Totengeister zittern – unter dem Wasser, wo sie das Totenreich bewohnen.	Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.
6	Nackt liegt die Unterwelt vor Gottes Augen. Keine Decke verbirgt den abgründigen Ort.	Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.
7	Er spannt den Himmel aus über dem Nichts, verankert die Erde in vollkommener Leere.	He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
8	Er speichert das Wasser in seinen Wolken. Doch sie bersten nicht unter ihrer Last.	He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.
9	Seinen Thron entzieht er den Augen, breitet eine Wolkendecke darüber aus.	He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.
10	Eine Linie hat er über den Meeren gezogen, die Licht und Finsternis voneinander trennt.	He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.
11	Die Pfeiler des Himmels geraten ins Wanken. Wenn Gott nur droht, dann beben sie schon.	The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.
12	Durch seine Macht hat er das Meer gebändigt, durch kluges Vorgehen hat er Rahab besiegt.	He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.
13	Den Himmel ließ er in neuem Glanz erstrahlen, die Meeresschlange war da schon lange durchbohrt.	By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
14	Sieh doch, das sind nur Spuren seines Wirkens! Es ist ein Flüstern, mehr hören wir nicht. Doch wenn Gott seinen Donner krachen lässt, wie mächtig muss er dann in Wirklichkeit sein?	Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
