1	Die Abteilungen der Torwächter Die Torwächter waren in Abteilungen eingeteilt. Von den Korachitern war es Meschelemja, der Sohn des Kore aus der Familie von Asaf.	Concerning the divisions of the porters: Of the Korhites was Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.
2	Von den Söhnen des Meschelemja waren es: der erstgeborene Sohn Secharja, der zweite Jediael, der dritte Sebadja, der vierte Jatniel,	And the sons of Meshelemiah were, Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,
3	der fünfte Elam, der sechste Johanan und der siebte Eljoenai.	Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Elioenai the seventh.
4	Von den Nachkommen des Obed-Edom waren es: der erstgeborene Sohn Schemaja, der zweite Josabad, der dritte Joach, der vierte Sachar, der fünfte Netanel,	Moreover the sons of Obed–edom were, Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth,
5	der sechste Ammiel, der siebte Issachar und der achte Peulletai. Ja, Gott hatte Obed-Edom gesegnet.	Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peulthai the eighth: for God blessed him.
6	Auch sein Sohn Schemaja hatte Söhne. In ihren Familien hatten sie besonderes Ansehen, denn sie waren tüchtige Männer.	Also unto Shemaiah his son were sons born, that ruled throughout the house of their father: for they were mighty men of valour.
7	Die Söhne Schemajas waren: Otni, Refael, Obed und Elsabad. Ihre Brüder Elihu und Semachja waren tüchtige Leute.	The sons of Shemaiah; Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad, whose brethren were strong men, Elihu, and Semachiah.
8	Sie alle waren Nachkommen von Obed-Edom. Sie, ihre Nachkommen und ihre anderen Verwandten waren tüchtige Leute und für jeden Dienst geeignet. Das waren die 62 Verwandten von Obed-Edom.	All these of the sons of Obed–edom: they and their sons and their brethren, able men for strength for the service, were threescore and two of Obed–edom.
9	Meschelemja hatte Nachkommen und andere Verwandte. Es waren 18 tüchtige Leute.	And Meshelemiah had sons and brethren, strong men, eighteen.
10	Auch Hosa, ein Sohn des Merari, hatte Söhne. Schimri war das Oberhaupt. Er war zwar nicht der erstgeborene Sohn, aber sein Vater hatte ihn zum Oberhaupt gemacht.	Also Hosah, of the children of Merari, had sons; Simri the chief, (for though he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him the chief;)
11	Die anderen Söhne waren: der zweite Hilkija, der dritte Tebalja, der vierte Secharja. Hosa hatte 13 Nachkommen und andere Verwandte.	Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth: all the sons and brethren of Hosah were thirteen.
12	Die Dienstorte der Torwächter Je nach der Zahl ihrer Männer hatten die Abteilungen der Torwächter ihre Aufgaben. Wie ihre Verwandten taten sie Dienst am Haus des Herrn.	Among these were the divisions of the porters, even among the chief men, having wards one against another, to minister in the house of the Lord.
13	In den Familien wurde ausgelost, wer für welches Tor zuständig war. Dabei wurde der Kleinste wie der Größte behandelt.	And they cast lots, as well the small as the great, according to the house of their fathers, for every gate.
14	Das Los für das Osttor fiel auf Schelemja. Für seinen Sohn Secharja wurde das Nordtor ausgelost. Secharja war ein kluger Ratgeber.	And the lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah his son, a wise counsellor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward.
15	Für Obed-Edom wurde das Südtor ausgelost, für seine Söhne das Vorratshaus.	To Obed–edom southward; and to his sons the house of Asuppim.
16	Auf Schuppim und Hosa fiel das Los für das Westtor, das Schallechet-Tor, bei dem die Straße ansteigt. Dort stand eine Wache neben der anderen.	To Shuppim and Hosah the lot came forth westward, with the gate Shallecheth, by the causeway of the going up, ward against ward.
17	Im Osten waren es pro Tag sechs, im Norden pro Tag vier, im Süden pro Tag vier und beim Vorratshaus zweimal zwei Wächter.	Eastward were six Levites, northward four a day, southward four a day, and toward Asuppim two and two.
18	Am Säulengang im Westen standen vier an der Straße und zwei am Säulengang selbst.	At Parbar westward, four at the causeway, and two at Parbar.
19	Das waren die Abteilungen der Torwächter von den Nachkommen des Korach und des Merari.	These are the divisions of the porters among the sons of Kore, and among the sons of Merari.
20	Weitere Dienste der Leviten Die anderen Leviten führten Aufsicht über die Schätze im Haus Gottes und die Lager für ausgewählte Beutestücke.	And of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasures of the house of God, and over the treasures of the dedicated things.
21	Zu ihnen gehörten die Nachkommen und die Familienhäupter des Gerschoniters Ladan. Das waren die Jehieliter.	As concerning the sons of Laadan; the sons of the Gershonite Laadan, chief fathers, even of Laadan the Gershonite, were Jehieli.
22	Die Nachkommen der Jehieliter waren Setam und sein Bruder Joel. Sie hatten die Aufsicht über die Schätze im Haus des Herrn.	The sons of Jehieli; Zetham, and Joel his brother, which were over the treasures of the house of the Lord.
23	Bei den Amramitern, Jizharitern, Hebronitern und Usielitern	Of the Amramites, and the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites:
24	war Schubael ein Aufseher. Er war der Sohn von Gerschom, ein Enkel des Mose und hatte die Aufsicht über die Lagerhäuser.	And Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, was ruler of the treasures.
25	Der andere Sohn des Mose hieß Elieser. Elieser war der Vater des Rehabja, Großvater von Jeschaja und Urgroßvater von Joram. Schelomit war der Enkel von Joram und der Sohn von Sichri.	And his brethren by Eliezer; Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomith his son.
26	Dieser Schelomit und seine Brüder hatten die Aufsicht über alle Lager mit Beutestücken. Die hatte einst König David gespendet, gemeinsam mit den Familienoberhäuptern. Auch die Truppenführer über 1000 und 100 Mann und die Heerführer waren dabei gewesen.	Which Shelomith and his brethren were over all the treasures of the dedicated things, which David the king, and the chief fathers, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the host, had dedicated.
27	Aus der Kriegsbeute hatten sie Gaben ausgewählt, um das Haus des Herrn zu unterstützen.	Out of the spoils won in battles did they dedicate to maintain the house of the Lord.
28	Früher hatte schon der Seher Samuel Gaben gebracht. So taten es auch Saul, der Sohn des Kisch, Abner, der Sohn des Ner, und Joab, der Sohn der Zeruja. Wer etwas schenkte, übergab es Schelomit. Er und seine Brüder hatten die Aufsicht.	And all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, had dedicated; and whosoever had dedicated any thing, it was under the hand of Shelomith, and of his brethren.
29	Außerhalb des Tempels in Israel arbeiteten Kenanja und seine Nachkommen. Sie gehörten zu den Jizharitern und waren Schreiber und Richter.	Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were for the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges.
30	Haschabja und seine Verwandten, die Hebroniter, beaufsichtigten die Verwaltung in Israel. Westlich des Jordan standen 1700 tüchtige Leute im Dienst des Königs. Sie waren für alle Angelegenheiten des Herrn zuständig.	And of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren, men of valour, a thousand and seven hundred, were officers among them of Israel on this side Jordan westward in all the business of the Lord, and in the service of the king.
31	Bei den Hebronitern war Jerija das Oberhaupt. So stand es in den Familienverzeichnissen der Hebroniter, die man im 40. Jahr der Herrschaft Davids durchsuchte. Man fand darin auch tüchtige Krieger aus Jaser in Gilead.	Among the Hebronites was Jerijah the chief, even among the Hebronites, according to the generations of his fathers. In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valour at Jazer of Gilead.
32	Auch Jerijas Verwandte, 2700 tüchtige Krieger, waren führend bei den Hebronitern. König David setzte die Familienoberhäupter ein über die Rubeniter, Gaditer und über den halben Stamm Manasse – in allen Angelegenheiten Gottes und des Königs.	And his brethren, men of valour, were two thousand and seven hundred chief fathers, whom king David made rulers over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, for every matter pertaining to God, and affairs of the king.
