1	Israels Heer und Verwaltung / Die zwölf Heerführer Die Israeliten wurden gezählt: die Familienoberhäupter, die Truppenführer über 1000 oder 100 Mann und ihre Schriftführer. Sie alle dienten dem König in jeder Angelegenheit, die die Abteilungen des Heeres betraf. In jedem Monat des Jahres kam eine Abteilung zum Dienst und ging wieder. Jede Abteilung hatte 24.000 Mann – das galt für jede einzelne der zwölf Abteilungen.	Now the children of Israel after their number, to wit, the chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter of the courses, which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, of every course were twenty and four thousand.
2	Die Aufsicht über die erste Abteilung für den ersten Monat hatte Jaschobam, der Sohn des Zabdiel.	Over the first course for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
3	Er war einer von den Söhnen des Perez. Er war der Befehlshaber der Heerführer für den ersten Monat.	Of the children of Perez was the chief of all the captains of the host for the first month.
4	Die Aufsicht über die Abteilung für den zweiten Monat hatte Dodai aus Ahoach. In seiner Abteilung war Miklot der Kommandant.	And over the course of the second month was Dodai an Ahohite, and of his course was Mikloth also the ruler: in his course likewise were twenty and four thousand.
5	Der dritte Heerführer für den dritten Monat war Benaja, der Sohn des Priesters Jojada. Er war das Oberhaupt.	The third captain of the host for the third month was Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, a chief priest: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
6	Benaja war der stärkste Mann der 30 Kriegshelden. Weil er Anführer der Dreißig wurde, übernahm sein Sohn Ammisabad seine Abteilung.	This is that Benaiah, who was mighty among the thirty, and above the thirty: and in his course was Ammizabad his son.
7	Der vierte Aufseher für den vierten Monat war Asael, der Bruder von Joab. Sein Sohn Sebadja folgte ihm.	The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.

9	Der sechste Aufseher für den sechsten Monat war Ira, der Sohn des Ikkesch, aus Tekoa.	The sixth captain for the sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.

11	Der achte Aufseher für den achten Monat war Sibbechai von den Serachitern aus Huscha.	The eighth captain for the eighth month was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zarhites: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
12	Der neunte Aufseher für den neunten Monat war Abieser aus Anatot, das im Land der Benjaminiter liegt.	The ninth captain for the ninth month was Abiezer the Anetothite, of the Benjamites: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.

18	Bei Juda war es Elihu, ein Bruder Davids, und bei Issachar Omri, der Sohn des Michael.	Of Judah, Elihu, one of the brethren of David: of Issachar, Omri the son of Michael:

21	Bei der anderen Hälfte des Stammes Manasse, die in Gilead lebte, war es Jiddo, der Sohn des Secharja. Bei Benjamin war es Jaasiel, der Sohn des Abner,	Of the half tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo the son of Zechariah: of Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner:
22	und bei Dan Asarel, der Sohn des Jeroham. Sie waren die Anführer der Stämme Israels.	Of Dan, Azareel the son of Jeroham. These were the princes of the tribes of Israel.
23	Die unvollendete Volkszählung Diejenigen, die 20 Jahre oder jünger waren, zählte David nicht. Denn der Herr hatte versprochen, Israel so zahlreich zu machen wie die Sterne am Himmel.	But David took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because the Lord had said he would increase Israel like to the stars of the heavens.
24	Joab, der Sohn der Zeruja, hatte einmal angefangen, das Volk zu zählen. Er hatte es aber nicht zu Ende gebracht, weil deswegen der Zorn Gottes über Israel kam. Daher wurde keine Zahl in die Aufzählung aufgenommen, die in der Chronik von König David steht.	Joab the son of Zeruiah began to number, but he finished not, because there fell wrath for it against Israel; neither was the number put in the account of the chronicles of king David.
25	Die Verwalter des königlichen Besitzes Asmawet, der Sohn des Adiel, hatte die Aufsicht über die Vorräte des Königs. Jonatan, der Sohn des Usija, beaufsichtigte die Vorräte auf dem Land, in den Städten, in den Dörfern und in den Türmen.	And over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the storehouses in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the castles, was Jehonathan the son of Uzziah:
26	Die Aufsicht über die Feldarbeiter beim Ackerbau hatte Esri, der Sohn des Kelub.	And over them that did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub:
27	Die Aufsicht über die Weinberge hatte Schimi, der Ramatiter. Sabdi, der Schifmiter, beaufsichtigte die Weinvorräte in den Weinbergen.	And over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite: over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite:
28	Die Aufsicht über die Olivenbäume und die Maulbeerfeigenbäume im Hügelland hatte Baal-Hanan, der Gederiter. Joasch beaufsichtigte die Ölvorräte.	And over the olive trees and the sycomore trees that were in the low plains was Baal–hanan the Gederite: and over the cellars of oil was Joash:
29	Die Aufsicht über die Rinder in der Scharon-Ebene hatte Schitrai, der Scharoniter. Schafat, der Sohn des Adlai, beaufsichtigte die Rinder in den Tälern.	And over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite: and over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai:
30	Die Aufsicht über die Kamele hatte Obil, der Ismaeliter. Jechdeja, der Meronotiter, beaufsichtigte die Eselinnen.	Over the camels also was Obil the Ishmaelite: and over the asses was Jehdeiah the Meronothite:
31	Die Aufsicht über die Schafe hatte Jasis, der Hagariter. Sie alle waren Verwalter des Besitzes von König David.	And over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagerite. All these were the rulers of the substance which was king David’s.
32	Davids Berater Jonatan, der Onkel Davids, war Berater. Er war ein kluger und schriftkundiger Mann. Jehiel, der Sohn des Hachmoni, kümmerte sich um die Söhne des Königs.	Also Jonathan David’s uncle was a counsellor, a wise man, and a scribe: and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons:
33	Auch Ahitofel war ein Berater des Königs. Huschai, der Arkiter, war der Vertraute des Königs.	And Ahithophel was the king’s counsellor: and Hushai the Archite was the king’s companion:
34	Nach Ahitofel waren es Jojada, der Sohn des Benaja, und Abjatar. Joab war der Heerführer des Königs.	And after Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar: and the general of the king’s army was Joab.
