1	Gott zerbricht die Waffen FÜR DEN CHORLEITER. ZUR MUSIK VON SAITENINSTRUMENTEN. EIN PSALM, VON ASAF, EIN LIED.	In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.
2	Gott ist in Juda wohlbekannt. In Israel schätzt man seinen Namen.	In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.
3	In Salem hat er sein Versteck. Auf dem Zion nahm er seine Wohnung.	There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.
4	Dort zerbrach er Köcher und Bogen, Schild, Schwert und Waffen des Kriegs. Sela.	Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.
5	Im Feuerglanz bist du erschienen, gewaltiger als ein reißender Löwe.	The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.
6	Zur Beute wurden die tapferen Krieger. Sie sanken zu Boden wie im Schlaf. Und kein einziger unter den starken Helden konnte etwas ausrichten mit seinen Händen.	At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
7	Als du sie bedroht hast, Gott Jakobs, blieben Wagen und Rosse liegen wie betäubt.	Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?
8	Ja, wo du erscheinst, verbreitest du Furcht. Wer kann dir standhalten, wenn du zornig bist?	Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,
9	Vom Himmel her hast du dein Urteil verkündet. Da erschrak die Erde und schwieg still.	When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.
10	So hast du dich zum Gericht erhoben, Gott, um alle Unterdrückten der Erde zu retten. Sela.	Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.
11	Sollen die Menschen doch kochen vor Wut, sie müssen dich trotzdem preisen. Und wenn dann einige noch immer kochen, müssen auch sie dich feiern.	Vow, and pay unto the Lord your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
12	Legt Gelübde ab und erfüllt sie dem Herrn, eurem Gott! Alle ringsum sollen ihm Geschenke bringen, dem, der zu fürchten ist.	He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
13	Er bricht den Hochmut der Fürsten. Gefürchtet ist er bei den Königen der Welt.	—
