1	Der Becher zum Gericht FÜR DEN CHORLEITER. NACH DER MELODIE: ZERSTÖRE NICHT! EIN PSALM, VON ASAF, EIN LIED.	Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.
2	Wir danken dir, Gott, wir danken dir, dass du uns nahe bist in deinem Namen. Deine Wunder erzählen davon.	When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.
3	»Ich werde einen Zeitpunkt bestimmen. Dann halte ich umfassend Gericht.	The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.
4	Sollte die Erde auch beben, mit allen Bewohnern, die auf ihr leben – ich selbst habe die Säulen der Erde auf festen Grund gestellt.« Sela.	I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:
5	Ich sagte zu den Angebern: »Seid doch nicht so eingebildet!« Und zu den Frevlern sagte ich: »Hebt euer Horn nicht so hoch!	Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.
6	Streckt euer Horn nicht in die Höhe! Reckt euren Hals nicht so empor, um freche Reden zu schwingen!«	For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7	Denn weder vom Osten noch vom Westen noch vom Süden habt ihr Grund dazu.	But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
8	Denn Gott allein ist der Richter. Den einen wird er erniedrigen, den anderen erhöhen.	For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.
9	Ja, der Herr hält einen Becher bereit, gefüllt mit schäumendem Wein, vermischt mit bitteren Gewürzen. Davon schenkt er ihnen der Reihe nach ein. Selbst die Hefe müssen sie schlürfen. Alle Frevler im Land müssen davon trinken.	But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10	Ich aber will es für alle Zeiten verkünden und davon singen, was der Gott Jakobs sagt:	All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
11	»Ich werde alle Hörner der Frevler abschlagen. Aber die Hörner der Gerechten werden in die Höhe ragen.«	—
