1	Herausgezogen aus dem Schlamm FÜR DEN CHORLEITER. VON DAVID, EIN PSALM.	I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2	Ganz fest hoffte ich auf den Herrn. Da hat er sich zu mir herabgebeugt und meinen Hilfeschrei gehört!	He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3	Er zog mich aus der todbringenden Zisterne, aus dem ganzen Schlamm und Dreck. Er stellte meine Füße auf einen Felsen und gab meinen Tritten festen Halt.	And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
4	Ein neues Lied hat er mir in den Mund gelegt: einen Lobgesang für unseren Gott. Viele sollen es sehen und Ehrfurcht empfinden. So werden sie zum Herrn Vertrauen fassen.	Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5	Glücklich zu preisen ist der Mensch, der sein Vertrauen auf den Herrn setzt: Er lässt sich nicht ein mit unbeherrschten Leuten und mit denen, die sich in Lügen verstricken.	Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
6	Vieles hast du für uns getan, Herr, mein Gott, wunderbar sind deine Werke und Pläne. Nichts kommt dir gleich! Wollte ich davon reden und berichten – es sind zu viele, um sie alle aufzuzählen!	Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
7	Opfer und Gaben wolltest du nicht. Das hast du mir hinter die Ohren geschrieben. Brandopfer und Sündopfer forderst du nicht.	Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
8	Ich sagte: »Siehe, ich komme mit einer Schriftrolle. Hier steht geschrieben, was ich tun soll.«	I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
9	Gerne will ich deinem Willen folgen, mein Gott. Deine Weisung trage ich in meinem Inneren.	I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest.
10	Gerechtigkeit verkünde ich in der Festversammlung. Siehe, ich halte meine Lippen nicht geschlossen. Das weißt du, Herr!	I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
11	Aus deiner Gerechtigkeit mache ich kein Geheimnis. Ich spreche offen über deine Treue und Hilfe. In der Festversammlung habe ich nichts verschwiegen von deiner Güte und deiner Zuverlässigkeit.	Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
12	Du, Herr, wirst mir dein Mitleid nicht verweigern. Deine Güte und deine Zuverlässigkeit sollen mich ständig bewahren.	For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.
13	Denn nichts als Unheil umgab mich. Ich kann gar nicht alles aufzählen. Meine eigenen Vergehen holten mich ein. Da habe ich den Überblick verloren. Es waren mehr als die Haare auf meinem Kopf. Da verließ mich der Mut.	Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me.
14	Hab doch Gefallen daran, Herr, mich zu retten! Herr, komm mir schnell zu Hilfe!	Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
15	In Grund und Boden sollen sich alle schämen, die mich zur Strecke bringen wollen. Ja, mein Leben wollen sie vernichten. Rot vor Scham sollen zurückweichen, die sich über mein Unglück freuen!	Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.
16	Sie sollen erschrecken über ihre Schande. Höhnisch riefen sie mir zu: »Haha! Haha!«	Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified.
17	Doch alle, die dich wirklich suchen, sollen jubeln und sich freuen über dich. Und die sich nach deiner Hilfe sehnen, sollen immer wieder sagen: »Groß ist der Herr!«	But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
18	Ich aber bin niedrig und arm. Doch mein Herr wird für mich sorgen. Du bist meine Hilfe und mein Retter! Mein Gott, zögere nicht!	—
