1	Gott schaut vom Himmel herab FÜR DEN CHORLEITER. VON DAVID. Dumme Menschen sprechen in ihren Herzen: »Es gibt keinen Gott!« Sie handeln abscheulich und verkehrt. Es ist niemand da, der etwas Gutes tut.	The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
2	Doch der Herr schaut vom Himmel herab und prüft die Menschenkinder. Er möchte sehen, ob jemand da ist, der Verstand hat und nach Gott fragt.	The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3	Doch sie sind alle von Gott abgefallen, allesamt sind sie verdorben. Es ist niemand da, der etwas Gutes tut, auch nicht ein Einziger!	They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4	Haben denn die Übeltäter kein Einsehen? Sie fressen mein Volk, wie man Brot verschlingt. Aber zum Herrn rufen sie nicht!	Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord.
5	Auf der Stelle soll sie ein Schrecken packen. Denn Gott ist bei denen, die gerecht sind.	There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.
6	Was ihr auch gegen den Armen plant, ihr werdet damit scheitern. Denn der Herr ist seine Zuflucht.	Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his refuge.
7	Wer wird vom Zion kommen und Israel die Befreiung bringen? Wenn der Herr das Schicksal seines Volkes zum Guten wendet, wird Jakob jubeln, Israel sich freuen.	Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
