1	Der lebendige Gott Es geht nicht um uns, Herr, – nicht um uns, sondern um deinen Namen. Lass uns deinen Namen in Ehren halten, wegen deiner Güte und deiner Treue.	Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.
2	Warum sollen die Völker sagen: »Wo ist er denn nur, ihr Gott?«	Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
3	Unser Gott herrscht doch im Himmel! Alles, was ihm gefällt, das tut er auch.	But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
4	Ihre Götterbilder sind nur Silber und Gold – ein Werk, von Menschenhand gemacht:	Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
5	Sie haben einen Mund, aber sie können nicht reden. Sie haben Augen, aber sie können nicht sehen.	They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
6	Sie haben Ohren, aber sie hören nichts. Sie haben eine Nase, aber sie riechen nichts.	They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
7	Ihre Hände, die können nicht tasten. Ihre Füße, die können nicht gehen. Keinen Laut bringen sie aus ihrer Kehle hervor.	They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
8	Genauso sollen auch die Handwerker sein, die diese Götterbilder geschaffen haben, ja alle, die auf ihre Macht vertrauen.	They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
9	Du Israel, vertraue dem Herrn! Er allein bietet Hilfe und Schutz.	O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
10	Ihr Nachkommen Aarons, vertraut dem Herrn! Er allein bietet Hilfe und Schutz.	O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
11	Ihr, die ihr zum Herrn gehört, vertraut dem Herrn! Er allein bietet Hilfe und Schutz.	Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
12	Der Herr hat sich an uns erinnert. Er will uns seinen Segen geben: Er segne die Nachkommen Israels! Er segne die Nachkommen Aarons!	The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
13	Er segne alle, die zum Herrn gehören, die kleinen und die großen Leute!	He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.
14	Der Herr schenke euch Nachwuchs, euch und euren Kindern!	The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.
15	Gesegnet seid ihr vom Herrn, der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat.	Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.
16	Der Himmel gehört dem Herrn allein. Doch die Erde hat er den Menschen anvertraut.	The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
17	Die Toten können den Herrn nicht mehr loben. Sie sind schon in die Totenstille hinabgestiegen.	The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.
18	Doch wir, wir preisen den Herrn, von heute an bis in alle Zukunft. Halleluja!	But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord.
