1	Die Gesetzgebung für die Priester / Die Opferbestimmungen / Anweisungen für das Brandopfer Der Herr rief Mose zu sich und sprach mit ihm vom Zelt der Begegnung aus.	And the Lord called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
2	Er forderte Mose auf, mit den Israeliten zu reden und ihnen auszurichten: Wenn jemand von euch eine Opfergabe darbringen will, soll er Rind, Schaf oder Ziege nehmen. Diese Tiere könnt ihr als Opfergabe darbringen, wenn ihr ein Tier für den Herrn schlachtet.	Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the Lord, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.
3	Will jemand ein Rind als Brandopfer darbringen, soll er ein männliches, makelloses Tier nehmen. Er soll es an den Eingang zum Zelt der Begegnung bringen. Das wird dem Herrn gefallen.	If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord.
4	Er soll seine Hand auf den Kopf des Opfertieres legen. Das Tier steht dann stellvertretend für den Menschen, der das Opfer darbringt. Das Opfer wird angenommen, und dem Menschen wird Vergebung geschenkt.	And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.
5	Danach soll er das Rind vor dem Herrn schlachten. Um das Blut sollen sich die Priester kümmern, die Nachkommen Aarons. Sie sollen es ringsum an den Altar sprengen, der vor dem Eingang zum Zelt der Begegnung steht.	And he shall kill the bullock before the Lord: and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
6	Der Mensch aber soll dem Opfertier das Fell abziehen und es in Stücke zerlegen.	And he shall flay the burnt offering, and cut it into his pieces.
7	Die Priester, die Nachkommen Aarons, sollen Feuer auf dem Altar machen und Holz darauf schichten.	And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire:
8	Die Fleischstücke sollen sie auf das Holz legen. Auch Kopf und Fett kommen auf den Altar.	And the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
9	Wer das Opfer darbringt, soll Innereien und Schenkel mit Wasser waschen. Dann soll ein Priester alles zusammen verbrennen. Das ganze Tier soll auf dem Altar in Rauch aufgehen. Es ist ein Brandopfer und soll den Herrn gnädig stimmen.	But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.
10	Will jemand Schaf oder Ziege als Brandopfer darbringen, soll er ein männliches, makelloses Tier nehmen.	And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish.
11	Er soll es zur Nordseite des Altars bringen und dort vor dem Herrn schlachten. Die Priester, die Nachkommen Aarons, sollen das Blut ringsum an den Altar sprengen.	And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the Lord: and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar.
12	Der Mensch aber soll das Tier in Stücke zerlegen und Kopf und Fett abtrennen. Das alles soll ein Priester auf den Altar legen, auf dem schon das Feuer brennt. Darauf schichtet er Holz und legt das Tier oben darauf.	And he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
13	Wer das Opfer darbringt, soll Innereien und Schenkel mit Wasser waschen. Dann soll ein Priester alles miteinander verbrennen. Das ganze Tier soll auf dem Altar in Rauch aufgehen. Es ist ein Brandopfer und soll den Herrn gnädig stimmen.	But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.
14	Will jemand Vögel als Brandopfer darbringen, soll er Turteltauben oder junge Felsentauben nehmen. Dies soll seine Opfergabe für den Herrn sein.	And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the Lord be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.
15	Ein Priester soll den Vogel zum Altar bringen. Dort soll er ihm den Kopf abtrennen und ihn auf dem Altar in Rauch aufgehen lassen. Zuvor soll noch das Blut ausgepresst und an die Seitenwand des Altars gestrichen werden.	And the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off his head, and burn it on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be wrung out at the side of the altar:
16	Auch Kropf und Federn soll er zuvor entfernen und alles an die Ostseite des Altars werfen – dorthin, wo auch die Asche hinkommt.	And he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes:
17	Dann soll er den Vogel noch an den Flügeln einreißen, die Flügel aber nicht ganz abreißen. So soll der Priester ihn auf den Altar legen. Dort soll schon das Feuer brennen, darüber liegt Holz und darauf kommt das Tier. Er soll den Vogel in Rauch aufgehen lassen. Es ist ein Brandopfer und soll den Herrn gnädig stimmen.	And he shall cleave it with the wings thereof, but shall not divide it asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.
