| 1 | A Song of the Ascents, by David. I have rejoiced in those saying to me, `To the house of Jehovah we go.' | I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. |
| 2 | Our feet have been standing in thy gates, O Jerusalem! | Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. |
| 3 | Jerusalem--the builded one-- Is as a city that is joined to itself together. | Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together: |
| 4 | For thither have tribes gone up, Tribes of Jah, companies of Israel, To give thanks to the name of Jehovah. | Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord. |
| 5 | For there have sat thrones of judgment, Thrones of the house of David. | For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. |
| 6 | Ask ye the peace of Jerusalem, At rest are those loving thee. | Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. |
| 7 | Peace is in thy bulwark, rest in thy high places, | Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. |
