alleluia confitemini Domino quoniam bonus quoniam in aeternum misericordia eius O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
quis loquetur fortitudines Domini auditas faciet omnes laudes eius Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
beati qui custodiunt iudicium et faciunt iustitiam in omni tempore Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
recordare mei Domine in repropitiatione populi tui visita me in salutari tuo Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
ut videam bona electorum tuorum et laeter in laetitia gentis tuae et exultem cum hereditate tua Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
peccavimus cum patribus nostris inique fecimus impie egimus O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
patres nostri in Aegypto non intellexerunt mirabilia tua non sunt recordati multitudinis misericordiae tuae et ad iracundiam provocaverunt super mare in mari Rubro He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
et comminatus est mari Rubro et aruit et transduxit eos per abyssos quasi in deserto Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
et salvavit eos de manu odientis et redemit eos de manu inimici And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
et operuit aqua hostes eorum unus de ipsis non superfuit Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
et crediderunt verbis eius cecineruntque laudem eius When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
cito obliti sunt operum illius nec expectaverunt voluntatem eius When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
et desideraverunt desiderium in deserto et temptaverunt Deum in solitudine He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
dedit ergo eis petitionem eorum et misit tenuitatem in animam eorum Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
et zelati sunt Mosen in castris Aaron sanctum Domini Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.
aperta est terra et devoravit Dathan et operuit synagogam Abiram He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
et succensus est ignis in synagoga eorum flamma exusit impios Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
fecerunt vitulum in Horeb et adoraverunt conflatile Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.
et mutaverunt gloriam suam in similitudine bovis comedentis faenum The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
mirabilia in terra Ham terribilia super mare Rubrum To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.
dixit ergo ut contereret eos nisi Moses electus eius stetisset medius contra faciem illius ut converteret indignationem eius et non interficeret Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
et dispexerunt terram desiderabilem nec crediderunt sermoni eius And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
et murmuraverunt in tabernaculis suis non audierunt vocem Domini He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
et levavit manum suam super eos ut deiceret eos in deserto He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.
et ut deiceret semen eorum in gentibus et dispergeret eos in terris They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
et concitaverunt eum in studiis suis et percussit eos plaga He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
stetit autem Finees et deiudicavit et est retenta percussio Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.
et reputatum est ei in iustitia in generatione et generatione usque in aeternum He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.
et provocaverunt super aquam Contradictionis et adflictus est Moses propter eos He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
quia provocaverunt spiritum eius et praecepit labiis suis He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.
non exterminaverunt populos quos dixit Dominus eis He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,
et commixti sunt gentibus et didicerunt opera eorum And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
et servierunt sculptilibus eorum et factum est eis in scandalum He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
et immolaverunt filios suos et filias suas daemonibus He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
et effuderunt sanguinem innocentem sanguinem filiorum suorum et filiarum suarum quos immolaverunt sculptilibus Chanaan et polluta est terra sanguinibus Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.
He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
iratus est itaque furor Domini in populum suum et abominatus est hereditatem suam The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
et adflixerunt eos inimici sui et humiliati sunt sub manu eorum For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
multis vicibus liberavit eos ipsi vero provocabant in consiliis suis et humiliati sunt propter iniquitates suas And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
et vidit tribulationem eorum cum audiret eos rogantes And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
et recordatus est pacti sui cum eis et paenituit eum secundum multitudinem misericordiae suae That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.
