| 2 | Người truyền đạo nói: Hư không của sự hư không, hư không của sự hư không, thảy đều hư không. | Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. |
| 3 | Các việc lao khổ loài người làm ra dưới mặt trời, thì được ích lợi chi? | What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun? |
| 4 | Ðời nầy qua, đời khác đến; nhưng đất cứ còn luôn luôn. | One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever. |
| 5 | Mặt trời mọc, mặt trời lặn, nó lật đật trở về nơi nó mọc. | The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose. |
