Karata-na Paulus hi porumpua toe, nanaa hawe'ea topohura toera, na'uli' -raka: "Ompi' -ompi' -ku! Moroli' mpontolumanu' nono-ku! Duu' hi eo tohe'i, kupenonoi uma ria sala' -ku hi poncilo Alata'ala." | And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.
Nto'u-na Paulus mololita hewa toe, Imam Bohe Ananias mpohubui tauna to hi ncori Paulus mpohopo' -i. | And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.
Hampetompoi' Paulus: "Harala nahopo' Alata'ala wo'o-ko-kowo mpai', iko to lompe' hi mali-na-wadi-ko! Mohura-ko retu mai, doko' mpobotuhi kara-kara-ku ntuku' Atura Musa, bo iko moto ntiboki Atura Musa toe, apa' nupehubui rahopo' -a." | Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?
Ngkai ree, tauna to ncori Paulus mpo'uli' -ki: "Daho' rahi-ko-kona mpolibui' Imam Bohe to napelihi Alata'ala hewa tetu!" | And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God’s high priest?
Na'uli' Paulus: "Uma-kuwo ku'incai kahi'a-na Imam Bohe-e. Hiaa' ria mpu'u-di to te'uki' hi rala Buku Tomoroli' to mpo'uli': `Neo' ralibui' hapa' pangkeni ngata-ta.'" | Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.
Na'inca-hawo Paulus, topohura toera, ria-ra to mpotuku' tudui' to Saduki, ria wo'o-ra to mpotuku' tudui' to Parisi. Toe pai' napesukui mpololitai-ra omea, na'uli': "Ompi' -ompi'! Aku' toi-le to Parisi-a, pai' muli to Parisi wo'o-a. Pai' -a tumai rapohurai tohe'i-e, apa' kuparasaya-kuna, tauna to mate bate tuwu' nculii'." | But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.
Kara'epe-na toe, momehono' -ramo to Parisi pai' to Saduki, alaa-na uma-rapa hintuwu'. | And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.
Apa' ntuku' to Saduki, tauna to mate uma tuwu' nculii', pai' uma ria kao' manusia' to tuwu' liu-liu, pai' uma ria mala'eka. Tapi' to Parisi-rana, raparasaya hawe'ea toe. | For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
Ka'omea-na, moe' -mi pomehono' -ra. Ria ba hangkuja dua guru agama to tono' hi to Parisi mokore pai' mehono', ra'uli': "Uma ria sala' -na tau tohe'ii. Meka' ba lue' ria mpu'u-di mala'eka ba rate mpololitai-i." | And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees’ part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.
Ngkai ree, kaboo-bohea lau-mi pomehono' -ra, alaa-na koro' -imi kapala' tantara, nee-neo' mpai' Paulus rapomerentai lau-imi. Nahubui-mi tantara-na hilou mpo'ala' Paulus, pai' -i rakeni nculii' hilou hi tomi tantara. | And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.
Bengi karomengia-na Paulus hi tomi tantara toe, muu-mule' mokore-imi Pue' Yesus hi ncori-na, na'uli' -ki: "Pakaroho nono-nu. Oti-mi nuposabi' -ka hi Yerusalem rei, pai' bate nuposabi' wo'o-ka mpai' hi ngata Roma." | And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.
Kamepulo-na, ba hangkuja dua to Yahudi mohawa' mpopatehi Paulus. Mosumpa-ra, ra'uli': "Uma-kai ulu ngkoni' ba nginu ane da koo-ko'ia kipatehi-i!" | And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.
Kadea-ra to mosumpa toera, labi opo' mpulu'. | And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy.
Jadi', hilou-ramo to mosumpa toera hi imam pangkeni pai' pangkeni to Yahudi ntani' -na, ra'uli': "Mojanci mpu'u-kai hante mosumpa, uma-kai ulu ngkoni' napa-napa ane ko'ia kipatehi-i Paulus. | And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.
Wae-pi, kiperapi' hi tuama-tuama hante topohura agama bona nipakatu sura hilou hi kapala' tantara to Roma, mperapi' bona Paulus rakeni nculii' mponyanyo-koi, ntani' raparesa' tena kara-kara-na. Ntaa' kilede-idi pai' kipatehi hi lengko ohea-e!" | Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.
Jadi', hawa' -ra toe na'epe pino'ana' -na Paulus. Kahilou-nami hi tomi tantara mparata patuju-ra toe hi Paulus. | And when Paul’s sister’s son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.
Ngkai ree, Paulus mpokio' hadua tadulako pai' na'uli' -ki: "Po'ema' ana' toii hilou hi kapala'. Ria anu naparata." | Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him.
Napo'ema' mpu'u-imi hilou hi kapala' pai' na'uli': "Paulus, to ratarungku' toei ria, merapi' bona kukeni-i ana' toii tumai hi Kapala'. Ria anu naparata-koko." | So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.
Jadi', kapala' tantara toei mpokamu pale-na ana' toei, pai' natete' -i hilou bona hira' rodua-wadi, pai' napekune' -i: "Napa to doko' nu'uli' -ka, uto'?" | Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me?
Na'uli' ana' toei: "Ria-ra to Yahudi to mohawa', merapi' hi Kapala' bona mepulo mpai' uma' -ku rakeni hi poromua topohura, ntani' ra'uli' raparesa' tena kara-kara-na. | And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.
Neo' ratuku' pomperapia' -ra! Apa' ria-ra labi opo' mpulu' to mengkawuni hi ohea doko' mpo'inawu-i. Mojanci-ra hante mosumpa bona uma-ra ulu ngkoni' ba nginu ane da koo-ko'ia-i rapatehi. Toe lou, rodo-ramo mpopea woli' lolita ngkai Kapala' -damo." | But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.
Na'uli' kapala' tantara toei: "Neo' nu'uli' hi hema-hema kanulohu-namaka patuju-ra tetu-e." Oti toe, pai' nahubui-imi nculii'. | So the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, See thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.
— | And he called unto him two centurions, saying, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Cesarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night;
Oti toe, kapala' tantara toei mpokio' rodua tadulako-na, pai' na'uli' -raka: "Porodo ro'atu tantara biasa, pai' pitu mpulu' tantara to mojara', pai' ro'atu wo'o tantara to moponcii'. Porodo wo'o jara' to nahawi' Paulus. Jaa sio bengi toe mpai' lau, me'ongko' -mokoi hilou hi Kaisarea, keni-i Paulus hilou hi Gubernur Feliks. Pai' jaga lompe' -i bona uma-i moapa hi ohea." | And provide them beasts, that they may set Paul on, and bring him safe unto Felix the governor.
Oti toe, kapala' tantara mpo'uki' sura hilou hi gubernur, moni-na hewa toi: | And he wrote a letter after this manner:
"Hi Gubernur Feliks to rabila'. Wori' tabe ngkai aku', Klaudius Lisias! | Claudius Lysias unto the most excellent governor Felix sendeth greeting.
Dohe sura toi, kupakatu hi Tuama hadua tauna to rahanga' Paulus. Paulus toii, rahoko' -i to Yahudi wengi, pai' neo' rapatehi lia-imi. Tapi' ku'epe Katoroma-nai. Toe pai' hilou-ama hante tantara-ku mpe'agoi-i ngkai laintongo' -ra. | This man was taken of the Jews, and should have been killed of them: then came I with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.
Apa' doko' ku'inca napa to rapakilu-ki, toe pai' kukeni-i hilou hi topohura to Yahudi bona raparesa'. | And when I would have known the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought him forth into their council:
Raparesa' -i toe, uma-hawo ria sala' -na to masipato' rapatehi ba ratarungku' -ki. Pangadua' -ra toe, ngkai ada agama-ra moto-wadi. | Whom I perceived to be accused of questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds.
Oti toe, ku'epe karia-na patuju dada'a to Yahudi hi hi'a. Toe pai' kupopekeni-i tilou hi Tuama Gubernur. Pai' ku'uli' -raka bali' -na hi rei, kana tilou-ra hi Gubernur ane doko' rapakilu-i. Hudu rei." | And when it was told me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent straightway to thee, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before thee what they had against him. Farewell.
Ngkai ree, ka'oti-na na'uki' sura toe, nahubui tantara-na mpokeni-i Paulus hilou hi Gubernur. Hi bengi toe rakeni-i hilou hi ngata Antipatris. | Then the soldiers, as it was commanded them, took Paul, and brought him by night to Antipatris.
Kamepulo-na tantara to mako' witi' nculii' hilou hi tomi tantara. Tantara to mojara' -damo mpokeni Paulus kaliliu hilou hi Kaisarea. | On the morrow they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the castle:
Karata-ra hi Kaisarea, ratonu-miki Gubernur sura to ngkai kapala' -ra, pai' Paulus wo'o ratonu hi kuasa Gubernur. | Who, when they came to Cesarea, and delivered the epistle to the governor, presented Paul also before him.
Ka'oti-na Gubernur mpobasa sura toe, napekune' -i Paulus: "Hiapa ngata kaputua-nu?" Natompoi' Paulus: "Hi tana' Kilikia." Kana'inca-na Gubernur toe, | And when the governor had read the letter, he asked of what province he was. And when he understood that he was of Cilicia;
na'uli' -mi: "Wae. Kuparesa' moto kara-kara-nu ane rata-ra-damo mpai' bali' -nu." Oti toe, nahubui tantara-na mpojaga Paulus hi rala tomi bohe to nawangu Magau' Herodes owi. | I will hear thee, said he, when thine accusers are also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod’s judgment hall.
