Ol i bin bringim em i kam daun long dispela hap. | And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither. |

Olsem wanem nau mi ken mekim dispela bikpela pasin nogut, na mekim sin i birua long God? | There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? |

| 13 | ¶ Na em i kamap olsem, taim meri i lukim, Josep i bin lusim klos bilong en long han bilong em, na em i ranawe, | And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth, |
| 14 | Orait em i singautim ol man bilong haus bilong en. Na em i tokim ol, i spik, Lukim. Em i bin bringim wanpela Hibru i kam long yumi bilong mekim pani long daunim yumi. Em i kam long mi bilong slip wantaim mi. Na mi singaut bikmaus. | That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice: |

| 16 | Na em i putim klos bilong Josep klostu long em, inap long bikman bilong em i kam. | And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home. |
| 17 | Na em i toktok long em bilong bihainim ol dispela tok, i spik, Dispela wokboi Hibru, husat yu bin bringim i kam long yumi, i kam insait long wokim pani bilong daunim mi. | And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me: |
| 18 | Na em i kamap olsem, taim mi litimapim nek bilong mi na singaut, em i lusim klos bilong en wantaim mi na i ranawe i go ausait. | And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out. |
| 19 | ¶ Na em i kamap olsem, taim bosman bilong em i harim ol tok bilong meri bilong en, dispela em i tok long em, i spik, Dispela wokboi bilong yu i bin mekim long mi i bihainim dispela pasin, long belhat tru bilong en i kirap. | And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled. |
| 20 | Na bosman bilong Josep i kisim em, na i putim em long kalabus, wanpela ples we ol i pasim ol kalabusman bilong king. Na em i stap long dispela hap insait long kalabus. | And Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison. |
| 21 | Tasol BIKPELA i stap wantaim Josep. Na Em i soim sori long em na givim pasin bilong laikim em long ai bilong man i lukautim kalabus. | But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison. |

Na olgeta samting ol i mekim long dispela hap, em i man bilong mekim dispela. | And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it. |

Na dispela samting em i mekim, BIKPELA i mekim dispela i kamap gutpela. | The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the Lord was with him, and that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper. |
