¶ Ating save tru i no singaut, a? Na ating gutpela save i no putim nek bilong en go ausait, a? | Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
Em i sanap antap long ol ples antap, klostu long rot long ol ples bilong ol liklik rot. | She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
Em i singaut klostu long ol dua bilong banis, long ples bilong go insait long biktaun, long ples bilong kam insait long ol dua. | She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
Long yupela, O ol man, mi singaut. Na nek bilong mi i go long ol pikinini man bilong man. | Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
O yupela man i no gat save, kisim save long save tru. Na, yupela krankiman, bel bilong yupela mas gat gutpela save. | O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
Harim. Long wanem, mi bai toktok long ol samting i nambawan, na taim maus bilong mi i op, ol stretpela samting. | Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
Long wanem, maus bilong mi bai autim tok tru. Na pasin nogut em i sting samting long maus bilong mi. | For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
Olgeta toktok bilong maus bilong mi i stap long stretpela pasin. I no gat wanpela samting i bikhet o paul insait long ol. | All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
Ol olgeta i klia long em husat i gat save, na stretpela long ol husat i painim pinis save. | They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
Kisim tok skul bilong mi, na no ken kisim silva, na save, moa long nambawan gol. | Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
Long wanem, save tru i winim ol rubi. Na olgeta samting man i ken gat laik long kisim, ol i no inap long skelim wantaim dispela. | For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
¶ Mi save tru mi stap wantaim pasin bilong bihainim save tru, na mi wok long painim save bilong kamapim ol samting i kam long gutpela save. | I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
Pret long BIKPELA em pasin bilong birua tru long pasin nogut. Hambak pasin, na pasin bilong man i tingim em i winim ol arapela, na pasin bilong bihainim rot nogut, na maus i bikhet, mi no laikim tru. | The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Tok helpim em i bilong mi, na strongpela save tru. Mi gutpela save. Mi gat strong. | Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
Long mi ol king i bosim kingdom, na ol hetman i tokaut strong long stretpela kot. | By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
Long mi ol hetman, na ol bikman, yes, olgeta jas bilong dispela graun, i bosim man. | By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
Mi laikim tru ol husat i laikim mi tru. Na ol husat i painim mi hariap bai painim mi pinis. | I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Planti mani samting na ona i stap wantaim mi, yes, planti mani samting i stap gut longpela taim, na stretpela pasin. | Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
Kaikai bilong mi i gutpela moa long gol, yes, long nambawan gol, na mani samting bilong mi long nambawan silva. | My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
Mi go pas long rot bilong stretpela pasin, namel long ol liklik rot bilong kot, | I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
Inap long mi ken mekim ol husat i laikim mi tru long kisim ol samting olsem papa i givim pikinini. Na mi bai pulapim ol samting i dia tru bilong ol. | That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
¶ BIKPELA i bin holimpas mi long stat bilong rot bilong Em bipo long ol wok bilong En bilong bipo. | The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
Em i sanapim mi long oltaim oltaim bipo tru, long stat, o long taim dispela graun i no stap yet. | I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
Taim ol ples daunbilo i no stap, Em i bringim mi ausait, taim i no gat ol ai bilong wara i sut i pulap tru wantaim wara. | When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
Bipo ol maunten i sanap gut, bipo ol liklik maunten i stap, Em i bringim mi ausait, | Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
Taim Em i no bin wokim dispela graun yet, o ol ples kunai, o hap bilong das bilong dispela graun i antap tru, | While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
Taim Em i redim ol heven, mi stap. Taim Em i putim ol arere raun nabaut antap long pes bilong ples dip, | When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
Taim Em i wokim ol klaut antap, taim Em i strongim ol ai bilong ol wara i sut bilong ples dip, | When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
Taim Em i givim strongpela tokaut bilong Em long solwara, inap long ol wara i no ken brukim strongpela tok bilong Em, taim Em i makim ol as ston bilong dispela graun, | When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
Nau mi stap klostu long Em, olsem pikinini mama i lukautim wantaim Em. Na mi stap gutpela amamas bilong Em olgeta wan wan de, na mi wokim amamas tru oltaim long ai bilong Em. | Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
Mi bin wokim amamas tru long hap bilong dispela graun bilong Em ol man i stap long en. Na ol gutpela amamas bilong mi i stap wantaim ol pikinini man bilong ol man. | Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
¶ Olsem na nau harim long mi, O yupela pikinini. Long wanem, blesing i stap long ol husat i holimpas ol rot bilong mi. | Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
Harim tok skul, na stap saveman, na no ken tok nogat long en. | Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
Blesing i stap long man husat i harim mi, em man i was i stap olgeta wan wan de long ol dua bilong banis bilong mi, na wet i stap long ol pos bilong ol dua bilong mi. | Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
Long wanem, husat man i painim mi pinis i painim laip pinis, na em bai kisim gutpela amamas bilong BIKPELA. | For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord.
Tasol em husat i mekim sin i birua long mi i mekim rong long tewel bilong em yet. Olgeta man husat i no laikim tru mi i laikim tru dai. | But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
