| 1 | ¶ Yupela ran i go i kam long ol rot bilong Jerusalem, na lukim nau, na save, na painim long ol ples i gat bikpela brait bilong en, sapos yupela i ken lukim wanpela man, sapos i gat wanpela husat i mekim kot, husat i painim tok tru, na Mi bai lusim pe bilong sin bilong en. | Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it. |

Ol i bin tok nogat long kam bek. | O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return. |

Long wanem, ol i no bilong BIKPELA. | Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the Lord’s. |

Na tu mipela bai i no inap lukim bainat o bikpela taim hangre. | They have belied the Lord, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine: |
| 13 | Na ol profet bai kamap win, na tok bilong BIKPELA i no stap insait long ol. Olsem tasol bai Em i mekim dispela long ol. | And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them. |
| 14 | Olsem na God BIKPELA bilong ol ami i tok olsem, Bikos yupela toktok long dispela tok, lukim, Mi bai mekim ol toktok bilong Mi long maus bilong yupela olsem paia, na ol dispela manmeri olsem diwai, na em bai kaikai ol olgeta. | Wherefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them. |

Em i wanpela strongpela kantri, em i wanpela kantri bilong bipo tru, wanpela kantri husat tok ples bilong ol yu no save, na tu yu no kisim save long ol i tok wanem. | Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the Lord: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say. |
| 16 | Paus bilong spia bilong banara bilong ol i olsem wanpela matmat i op, ol olgeta i ol strongpela man. | Their quiver is as an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men. |

Ol bai kaikai olgeta ol lain sipsip bilong yu na ol lain bulmakau bilong yu. Ol bai kaikai olgeta ol rop wain bilong yu na ol diwai fik bilong yu. Ol bai mekim ol biktaun bilong yu i gat banis, we yu putim bilip long en, i kamap rabis tru wantaim bainat. | And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword. |

Nau yu bai bekim tok long ol, Olsem yupela i bin givim baksait long Mi, na stap aninit long ol narakain god long hap bilong yupela, olsem tasol yupela bai stap aninit long ol ausait man long wanpela hap i no bilong yupela. | And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the Lord our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours. |

Ating i yes long yupela bai guria long pes bilong Mi, husat i bin putim wesan long stap mak bilong arere bilong biksi wantaim wanpela strongpela tokaut i no inap long pinis, inap long biksi i no inap kalapim dispela? Na maski ol sibruk bilong en i tromoi ol yet, yet ol i no inap long winim. Maski ol i krai bikpela, yet ol i no inap kalapim dispela. | Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it? |

Em i holim bek i go long yumi ol wik Em i makim bilong kamautim kaikai. | Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the Lord our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest. |

| 26 | Long wanem, namel long ol manmeri bilong Mi, Mi lukim ol man nogut. Ol i wet hait, olsem em husat i putim ol trap. Ol i putim wanpela trap, ol i kisim ol man. | For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men. |
| 27 | Olsem wanpela bokis kalabus i pulap wantaim ol pisin, olsem tasol ol haus bilong ol i pulap long pasin giaman. Olsem na ol i kamap ol bikman, na wok long kamap maniman. | As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich. |
| 28 | Ol i wok long kamap patpela, ol i lait tru. Yes, ol i winim ol wok nogut bilong man nogut. Ol i no jasim ol wari, ol wari bilong pikinini i no gat papa, yet ol i gat gutpela sindaun. Na rait bilong ol man i gat nid ol i no jasim. | They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge. |

Na yupela bai mekim wanem long pinis bilong en? | The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof? |
