| 2 | Go na singaut long ol ia bilong Jerusalem, i spik, BIKPELA i tok olsem, Mi holim tingting long yu, gutpela pasin bilong yu taim yu stap yangpela, laikim tru bilong yu taim yu marit long kontrak, taim yu bihainim Mi long ples i no gat man, long wanpela hap ol no planim samting. | Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown. |

| 6 | Na tu ol i no tok, BIKPELA i stap we husat i bringim mipela i kam ausait long hap bilong Isip, husat i stiaim mipela i brukim ples i no gat man, i brukim hap bilong ol ples nating na ol bikpela hul, i brukim wanpela hap i drai long wara, na bilong tewel bilong dai, i brukim wanpela hap long i no gat man i wokabaut namel long en, na we i no gat man i stap? | Neither said they, Where is the Lord that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt? |

Ol pasta tu i kalapim lo i birua long Mi, na ol profet i autim tok profet long Beal, na wokabaut bilong bihainim ol samting i no helpim ol. | The priests said not, Where is the Lord? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. |

Na salim tok i go long Kedar, na strong long tingim na skelim, na lukim sapos i gat wanpela kain samting olsem. | For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing. |

Tasol ol manmeri bilong Mi i bin senisim glori bilong ol long dispela samting i no helpim ol. | Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit. |
| 12 | Kirap nogut, O yupela ol heven, long dispela, na pret nogut tru, yupela stap nating tru, BIKPELA i tok. | Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the Lord. |

Ol i bin givim baksait long Mi, ai bilong wara i sut i stap laip, na ol i sapim ol tang wara, ol tang wara i bruk, dispela i no inap long holim wara. | For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. |

| 15 | Ol yangpela laion i krai bikpela antap long em, na bikmaus, na ol i mekim hap bilong em i stap pipia. Ol biktaun bilong em i kuk pinis na i no gat man i stap. | The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant. |

| 17 | Ating i yes long yu bin kisim dispela i kam long yu yet, long dispela, yu bin givim baksait long BIKPELA, God bilong yu, taim Em i stiaim yu long rot? | Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, when he led thee by the way? |
| 18 | Na nau yu gat wanem wok long stap long rot bilong Isip, long dringim ol wara bilong Saihor? O yu gat wanem wok long stap long rot bilong Asiria, long dringim ol wara bilong riva? | And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river? |
| 19 | Pasin nogut bilong yu yet bai stretim yu, na ol pasin bilong go bek bilong yu bai hatim yu. Olsem na save tru na luksave long em i wanpela samting nogut na samting bilong bagarapim bel tru, long yu bin givim baksait long BIKPELA, God bilong yu, na long pret bilong Mi i no stap insait long yu, GOD Bikpela bilong ol ami i tok. | Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord God of hosts. |

Na yu tok, Mi bai i no inap kalapim lo, taim, antap long olgeta wan wan liklik maunten antap na aninit long olgeta wan wan diwai i grinpela, yu raun nating na pilai olsem pamuk meri. | For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot. |

Nau yu tanim na kamap rop i bagarap moa bilong wanpela narakain rop wain long Mi olsem wanem? | Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me? |

Long mun bilong em ol bai lukim em. | A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her. |

Tasol long taim bilong trabel bilong ol ol bai tok, Kirap, na kisim bek mipela. | Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. |

Long wanem, bilong bihainim namba bilong ol biktaun bilong yu ol god bilong yu i stap, O Juda. | But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah. |

Bainat bilong yupela yet i bin kaikai olgeta ol profet bilong yupela, olsem wanpela laion bilong bagarapim olgeta. | In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion. |

Olsem wanem na ol lain bilong Mi i tok, Mipela stap ol bikman, mipela bai i no inap kam long Yu moa? | O generation, see ye the word of the Lord. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee? |

Yet ol manmeri bilong mi i bin lusim tingting long Mi inap long ol de i no gat namba. | Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number. |
| 33 | Bilong wanem yu stretim gut rot bilong yu long painim laikim tru? Olsem na yu bin skulim ol man nogut long ol rot bilong yu tu. | Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways. |
| 34 | Na tu long ol arere bilong klos bilong yu ol i lukim blut bilong ol tewel bilong ol tarangu i no bin mekim rong. Mi no bin painim dispela pinis long pasin bilong painim tru hait, tasol antap long olgeta dispela. | Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these. |
| 35 | Yet yu tok, Bikos mi no bin mekim rong, tru tumas, belhat bilong Em bai tanim na lusim mi. Lukim, Mi bai toktok wantaim strongpela askim long yu, bilong wanem, yu tok, Mi no bin mekim sin. | Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned. |
| 36 | Bilong wanem yu raun nating nabaut tru long senisim pasin bilong yu? Yu tu bai sem long Isip, olsem yu sem long Asiria. | Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria. |

Long wanem, BIKPELA i bin tok nogat olgeta long ol strongpela bilip bilong yu, na yu bai i no inap kamap gutpela insait long ol. | Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the Lord hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them. |
