| 3 | Salmaneser, king bilong Asiria, i kam antap long birua long em. Na Hosea i kamap wokboi bilong em, na givim em ol presen. | Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents. |

| 8 | Na wokabaut insait long ol lo ol haiden i raitim, husat BIKPELA i rausim i go ausait long ai bilong ol pikinini bilong Isrel, na long ai bilong ol king bilong Isrel, dispela ol i bin wokim. | And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made. |
| 9 | Na ol pikinini bilong Isrel i mekim hait ol dispela samting, dispela i no stretpela i birua long BIKPELA, God bilong ol, na ol i wokim ol ples antap long olgeta biktaun bilong ol, i stat long taua bilong ol wasman i go inap long biktaun i gat banis. | And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the Lord their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city. |

| 13 | Yet BIKPELA i tokaut klia i birua long Isrel, na i birua long Juda, long maus bilong olgeta profit, na long maus bilong olgeta sia, i spik, Yupela tanim long ol pasin nogut bilong yupela, na holimpas ol tok strong bilong Mi na ol lo bilong Mi Mi raitim, bilong bihainim olgeta lo, dispela Mi tok strong long ol tumbuna papa bilong yupela, na dispela Mi salim long yupela long maus bilong ol wokboi bilong Mi, ol profet. | Yet the Lord testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets. |

Na ol i bihainim samting nating, na kamap samting nating, na ol i go bihainim ol haiden husat i stap raun nabaut long ol, husat long sait bilong ol BIKPELA i bin givim tok long ol, long ol i no ken mekim wankain olsem ol. | And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them. |
| 16 | Na ol i lusim olgeta tok strong bilong BIKPELA, God bilong ol, na wokim bilong ol ol piksa god ain, yes, tupela bulmakau pikinini, na wokim wanpela lain diwai, na lotuim olgeta ami bilong heven, na bihainim Beal. | And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal. |
| 17 | Na ol i mekim ol pikinini man bilong ol na ol pikinini meri bilong ol long wokabaut i go namel long paia, na yusim glasman pasin na poisin pasin, na ol i salim ol yet bilong mekim ol samting i nogut long ai bilong BIKPELA, bilong skrapim bel bilong Em long belhat. | And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger. |
| 18 | Olsem na BIKPELA i belhat tru long Isrel, na rausim ol i go ausait long hap ai bilong Em i lukim. I no gat wanpela i stap yet, tasol lain Juda i stap tasol. | Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only. |
| 19 | Na tu Juda i no holimpas ol tok strong bilong BIKPELA, God bilong ol, tasol ol i wokabaut insait long ol lo ol i raitim bilong Isrel, dispela ol i wokim. | Also Judah kept not the commandments of the Lord their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made. |
| 20 | Na BIKPELA i tok nogat olgeta long olgeta tumbuna pikinini bilong Isrel, na givim hevi long ol, na givim ol i go long han bilong ol man bilong kisim kago bilong pait, inap long Em i bin rausim ol i go ausait long hap ai bilong Em i lukim. | And the Lord rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight. |
| 21 | Na em i brukim Isrel long hauslain bilong Devit. Na ol i mekim Jeroboam, pikinini man bilong Nibat, king. Na Jeroboam i ranim Isrel, long lusim pasin bilong bihainim BIKPELA, na em i mekim ol long wokim wanpela bikpela sin. | For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the Lord, and made them sin a great sin. |
| 22 | Long wanem, ol pikinini bilong Isrel i wokabaut insait long olgeta sin bilong Jeroboam, dispela em i mekim. Ol i no lusim ol, | For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them; |
| 23 | Inap long BIKPELA i rausim Isrel i go ausait long hap ai bilong Em i lukim, olsem Em i bin tok long maus bilong olgeta wokboi bilong Em, ol profet. Olsem tasol ol i karim i go Isrel ausait long hap bilong ol yet i go long Asiria inap long tude. | Until the Lord removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day. |
| 24 | ¶ Na king bilong Asiria i bringim ol man long Babilon, na long Kuta, na long Ava, na long Hemat, na long Sefarvaim, na putim ol long ol biktaun bilong Samaria long kisim ples bilong ol pikinini bilong Isrel. Na ol i holimpas Samaria, na stap long ol biktaun bilong em. | And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof. |

Olsem na BIKPELA i salim ol laion namel long ol, husat i kilim sampela bilong ol i dai. | And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the Lord: therefore the Lord sent lions among them, which slew some of them. |

Olsem na Em i bin salim ol laion namel long ol, na, lukim, ol i kilim ol i dai, bilong wanem, ol i no save long pasin bilong God bilong dispela hap. | Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land. |

Na larim ol i go na stap long dispela hap, na larim em i skulim ol long pasin bilong God bilong dispela hap. | Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land. |
| 28 | Nau wanpela bilong ol pris husat ol i bin karim i go lusim Samaria i kam na stap long Betel, na skulim ol long ol i mas pret long BIKPELA olsem wanem. | Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Beth–el, and taught them how they should fear the Lord. |
| 29 | Tasol olgeta wan wan kantri i wokim ol god bilong ol yet, na putim ol long ol haus bilong ol dispela ples antap ol lain Samaria i bin wokim, olgeta wan wan kantri i wokim long ol biktaun bilong ol we ol i stap insait long ol. | Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt. |
| 30 | Na ol man bilong Babilon i wokim Sukot-benot, na ol man bilong Kut i wokim Nergal, na ol man bilong Hemat i wokim Asima. | And the men of Babylon made Succoth–benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima, |
| 31 | Na ol man Avim i wokim Niphas na Tartak, na ol lain Sefarvaim i kukim olgeta ol pikinini bilong ol long paia long Adramelek na Anamelek, ol god bilong Sefarvaim. | And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim. |
| 32 | Olsem na ol i pret long BIKPELA, na mekim ol pris bilong ol ples antap bilong ol yet i kam long ol lain i daunbilo moa bilong ol, husat i sakrifais bilong helpim ol long ol haus bilong ol ples antap. | So they feared the Lord, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places. |
| 33 | Ol i pret long BIKPELA, na bihainim ol god bilong ol yet, i bihainim ol kastam bilong ol kantri husat i karim ol i go lusim dispela ples. | They feared the Lord, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence. |

Ol i no pret long BIKPELA, na tu ol i no mekim samting i bihainim ol lo God i raitim bilong ol, o i bihainim ol lo God i makim bilong ol, o samting i bihainim dispela lo na tok strong BIKPELA i tok strong long ol pikinini bilong Jekop, husat Em i putim nem Isrel long em. | Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the Lord, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the Lord commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel; |
| 35 | Ol lain husat BIKPELA i bin wokim wanpela kontrak wantaim ol, na givim tok long ol, i spik, Yupela bai i no inap pret long ol arapela god, o lindaunim yupela yet long ol, o bihainim ol, o sakrifais long ol. | With whom the Lord had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them: |
| 36 | Tasol BIKPELA, husat i bringim yupela antap i kam ausait long hap bilong Isip wantaim bikpela pawa na wanpela han Em i stretim i go ausait, Em bai yupela i pret long Em, na Em bai yupela i lotuim, na long Em bai yupela i wokim sakrifais. | But the Lord, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice. |
| 37 | Na ol lo Em i raitim, na ol lo Em i makim, na lo, na dispela tok strong Em i raitim bilong yupela, yupela bai lukluk long ol oltaim oltaim. Na yupela bai i no ken pret long ol arapela god. | And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods. |
| 38 | Na dispela kontrak Mi bin wokim wantaim yupela, yupela bai i no ken lusim tingting long en. Na tu bai yupela i no ken pret long ol arapela god. | And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods. |
| 39 | Tasol yupela bai pret long BIKPELA, God bilong yupela. Na Em bai kisim bek yupela long han bilong olgeta birua bilong yupela. | But the Lord your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies. |
| 40 | Tasol ol i no bin harim, tasol ol i mekim samting i bihainim ol kastam bilong ol bipo. | Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner. |
| 41 | Olsem tasol dispela ol kantri i pret long BIKPELA, na bihainim ol piksa god ol i sapim, ol pikinini bilong ol na ol pikinini bilong ol pikinini bilong ol wantaim. Olsem ol tumbuna papa bilong ol i mekim, olsem tasol ol i mekim inap long tude. | So these nations feared the Lord, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children’s children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day. |
