¶ Tasol king Solomon i laikim tru planti ausait meri, ol dispela wantaim pikinini meri bilong Fero, ol meri bilong ol lain Moap, ol lain Amon, ol lain Idom, ol lain Saidon, na ol lain Hit, | But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
Bilong ol kantri long sait bilong husat BIKPELA i tokim ol pikinini bilong Isrel, Yupela bai i no ken go long ol, na tu ol bai i no ken kam long yupela. Long wanem, tru tumas, ol bai tanim bel bilong yupela i go long bihainim ol god bilong ol. Solomon i pas wantaim ol dispela meri long laikim tru. | Of the nations concerning which the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
Na em i gat 700 meri, ol hetmeri, na 300 namba tu lain meri. Na ol meri bilong em i tanim bel bilong em i go. | And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
Long wanem, em i kamap olsem, taim Solomon i lapun, long ol meri bilong em i tanim bel bilong em i go bihainim ol arapela god. Na bel bilong em i no stap inap tru wantaim BIKPELA, God bilong em, olsem bel bilong Devit, papa bilong em. | For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.
Long wanem, Solomon i go bihainim Astoret, god meri bilong ol lain Saidon, na go bihainim Milkom, dispela sting samting bilong ol lain Amon. | For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
Na Solomon i mekim pasin nogut long ai bilong BIKPELA, na em i no bihainim BIKPELA olgeta, olsem Devit, papa bilong em. | And Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and went not fully after the Lord, as did David his father.
Nau Solomon i bin wokim wanpela ples antap bilong Kemos, dispela sting samting bilong Moap, long dispela liklik maunten i stap long ai bilong Jerusalem, na bilong Molek, dispela sting samting bilong ol pikinini bilong Amon. | Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
Na wankain olsem em i mekim bilong olgeta ausait meri bilong em, husat i kukim insens na sakrifais long ol god bilong ol. | And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
¶ Na BIKPELA i belhat wantaim Solomon, bilong wanem, bel bilong em i tanim i go lusim God BIKPELA bilong Isrel, husat i bin kamap ples klia long em tupela taim, | And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the Lord God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,
Na husat i bin tok strong long em long sait bilong dispela samting, long em i no ken go bihainim ol arapela god. Tasol em i no holimpas dispela samting BIKPELA i tok strong. | And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the Lord commanded.
Olsem na BIKPELA i tokim Solomon, Bikos yu wokim dispela samting, na yu no bin holimpas kontrak bilong Mi na ol lo bilong Mi Mi raitim, dispela Mi bin tok strong long yu, orait tru tumas, Mi bai brukim kingdom bilong yu long yu, na Mi bai givim dispela long han bilong wokboi bilong yu. | Wherefore the Lord said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.
Tasol bilong tingim Devit, papa bilong yu, Mi bai i no inap mekim dispela long ol de bilong yu. Tasol Mi bai brukim dispela i kam ausait long han bilong pikinini man bilong yu. | Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father’s sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.
Tasol Mi no bai brukim i go olgeta hap bilong kingdom. Tasol Mi bai givim wanpela lain long pikinini man bilong yu, bilong tingim Devit, wokboi bilong Mi, na bilong tingim Jerusalem, dispela Mi bin makim. | Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.
¶ Na BIKPELA i kirapim wanpela birua long Solomon, man Idom Hedat. Em i bilong tumbuna pikinini bilong king long Idom. | And the Lord stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king’s seed in Edom.
Long wanem, em i kamap olsem, taim Devit i stap long Idom, na Joap, kepten bilong ami, i go antap bilong planim ol man ol i kilim i dai, bihain long em i bin paitim olgeta wan wan man long Idom, | For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom;
(Long wanem, sikispela mun Joap i bin stap yet long dispela hap wantaim olgeta Isrel, inap long em i bin rausim olgeta olgeta wan wan man long Idom,) | (For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:)
Long Hedat i ranawe, em na sampela bilong ol man Idom bilong ol wokboi bilong papa bilong em wantaim em, long go long Isip, taim Hedat i stap liklik pikinini yet . | That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father’s servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.
Na ol i kirap i kam ausait long Midian, na kam long Paran. Na ol i kisim ol man wantaim ol ausait long Paran, na ol i kam long Isip, long Fero, king bilong Isip, husat i givim em wanpela haus, na makim ol kaikai bilong em, na givim em graun. | And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.
Na Hedat i kisim bikpela amamas long ai bilong Fero, inap long em i givim em, long maritim, susa bilong meri bilong em yet, susa bilong kwin Tapenes. | And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.
Na susa bilong Tapenes i karim long em Genubat, pikinini man bilong em, husat Tapenes i helpim long lusim susu long haus bilong Fero. Na Genubat i stap insait long hauslain bilong Fero namel long ol pikinini man bilong Fero. | And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh’s house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh’s household among the sons of Pharaoh.
Na taim Hedat i harim long Isip long Devit i slip wantaim ol tumbuna papa bilong em, na long Joap, kepten bilong ami, i dai pinis, Hedat i tokim Fero, Larim mi go, inap long mi ken go long kantri bilong mi yet. | And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country.
Nau Fero i tokim em, Tasol yu bin sot long wanem samting taim yu stap wantaim mi, inap long, lukim, yu painim rot bilong go long kantri bilong yu yet? Na em i bekim tok, Nogat. Tasol, long bihainim wanem rot, larim mi go. | Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country? And he answered, Nothing: howbeit let me go in any wise.
Na God i kirapim long em narapela birua, Reson, pikinini man bilong Eliada, husat i ranawe long bikman bilong em Hedadiser, king bilong Soba. | And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:
Na em i bungim sampela man long em, na kamap kepten long bosim wanpela liklik lain ami, taim Devit i kilim i dai ol lain bilong Soba. Na ol i go long Damaskas, na stap insait long en, na em i bosim kingdom long Damaskas. | And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus.
Na em i wanpela birua long Isrel olgeta de bilong Solomon, dispela i no kaunim ol dispela trabel Hedat i mekim. Na em i ting olsem Isrel i sting olgeta, na em i bosim kingdom long Siria. | And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.
¶ Na Jeroboam, pikinini man bilong Nibat, wanpela man Ifraim bilong Sereda, wokboi bilong Solomon, husat nem bilong mama bilong en em i Serua, wanpela meri man bilong em i dai pinis, yes, em i apim han bilong em long birua long king. | And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon’s servant, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king.
Na dispela em i as long em i apim han bilong em long birua long king. Solomon i wokim Milo, na stretim ol samting i bruk bilong biktaun bilong Devit, papa bilong em. | And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.
Na man Jeroboam em i wanpela strongpela man tru bilong pait. Na taim Solomon i luksave long dispela yangpela man em i strongpela man bilong wok, em i mekim em hetman long bosim olgeta wok bilong ol hauslain bilong Josep. | And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.
Na em i kamap olsem long dispela taim, taim Jeroboam i go ausait long Jerusalem, long man Sailo profet Ahaisa i lukim em long rot. Na em i bin pasim klos long em yet wantaim wanpela nupela klos. Na tupela ol i stap ol yet tasol long ples kunai. | And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:
Na Ahaisa i holimpas strong dispela nupela klos i stap antap long em, na brukim dispela long twelpela hap. | And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:
Na em i tokim Jeroboam, Kisim long yu tenpela hap. Long wanem, BIKPELA, God bilong Isrel, i tok olsem, Lukim, Mi bai brukim kingdom i kam ausait long han bilong Solomon, na Mi bai givim tenpela lain long yu. | And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:
(Tasol em bai gat wanpela lain bilong tingim wokboi bilong Mi Devit, na bilong tingim Jerusalem, dispela biktaun Mi bin makim ausait long olgeta lain bilong Isrel.) | (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)
Bilong wanem, long ol i bin givim baksait long Mi, na ol i bin lotuim Astoret, god meri bilong ol lain Saidon, Kemos, god bilong ol lain Moap, na Milkom, god bilong ol pikinini bilong Amon, na ol i no bin wokabaut insait long ol rot bilong Mi, long mekim dispela samting em i stretpela long ol ai bilong Mi, na long holimpas ol lo bilong Mi Mi raitim, na ol kot bilong Mi, olsem Devit, papa bilong em i bin mekim. | Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.
Tasol Mi bai i no inap kisim olgeta hap bilong kingdom i kam ausait long han bilong em. Tasol Mi bai mekim em hetman olgeta de bilong laip bilong em bilong tingim Devit, wokboi bilong Mi, husat Mi makim, bilong wanem, em i holimpas ol tok strong bilong Mi na ol lo bilong Mi Mi raitim. | Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant’s sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:
Tasol Mi bai kisim kingdom i kam ausait long han bilong pikinini man bilong em, na Mi bai givim dispela long yu, yes, tenpela lain. | But I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand, and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes.
Na long pikinini man bilong em, Mi bai givim wanpela lain, inap long Devit, wokboi bilong Mi, i ken gat wanpela lait olgeta taim long ai bilong Mi long Jerusalem, dispela biktaun Mi bin makim bilong putim nem bilong Mi long en. | And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.
Na Mi bai kisim yu, na yu bai bosim kingdom bilong bihainim olgeta samting tewel bilong yu i gat laik long en, na yu bai stap king long bosim Isrel. | And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel.
Na em bai kamap olsem, sapos yu bai harim long olgeta samting Mi tok strong long yu, na yu bai wokabaut insait long ol rot bilong Mi, na mekim dispela em i stretpela long ai bilong Mi, long holimpas ol lo bilong Mi Mi raitim, na ol tok strong bilong Mi, olsem Devit, wokboi bilong Mi i mekim, orait Mi bai stap wantaim yu, na wokim wanpela hauslain i strong tru long yu, olsem Mi wokim long Devit, na Mi bai givim Isrel long yu. | And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.
Na long dispela, Mi bai givim hevi long tumbuna pikinini bilong Devit, tasol i no bilong oltaim oltaim. | And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.
Olsem na Solomon i painim rot long kilim Jeroboam. Na Jeroboam i kirap, na ranawe i go long Isip, long Saisak, king bilong Isip, na stap long Isip inap long dai bilong Solomon. | Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, unto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
¶ Na olgeta arapela wok bilong Solomon, na olgeta samting em i mekim, na save tru bilong em, ating i yes long ol i raitim ol long buk bilong ol wok bilong Solomon? | And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
Na taim long Solomon i bosim kingdom bilong olgeta Isrel long Jerusalem em i 40 yia. | And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.
Na Solomon i slip wantaim ol tumbuna papa bilong em, na ol i planim em long biktaun bilong Devit, papa bilong em. Na Reaboam, pikinini man bilong em, i kisim ples bilong em na bosim kingdom. | And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
