¶ Nau long namba 12 mun, em i olsem, mun Adar, long namba 13 de bilong en stret, taim tok strong bilong king na strongpela tokaut bilong em i wok long kam klostu long ol i mekim i kamap, long de long ol birua bilong ol Ju i gat hop long ol bai gat pawa antap long ol, (maski em i tanim i kamap narakain, long ol Ju i gat pawa long bosim ol lain husat i hetim ol,) | Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king’s commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;)
Ol Ju i bungim ol yet wantaim insait long ol biktaun bilong ol long olgeta hap bilong olgeta provins bilong king Ahasuerus, long putim han antap long kain lain husat i painim rot bilong givim pen long ol. Na i no gat man husat i inap long sanap strong na birua long ol. Long wanem, pret bilong ol i pundaun antap long olgeta manmeri. | The Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people.
Na olgeta hetman bilong ol provins, na ol namba tu hetman, na ol tultul, na ol ofisa bilong king, i helpim ol Ju. Bilong wanem, pret bilong Mordekai i pundaun antap long ol. | And all the rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the king, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them.
Long wanem, Mordekai em i bikman insait long haus bilong king, na biknem tru bilong em i go ausait i go long olgeta hap bilong olgeta provins. Long wanem, dispela man Mordekai i wok long kamap bikpela na bikpela moa. | For Mordecai was great in the king’s house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater.
Olsem tasol ol Ju i paitim olgeta birua bilong ol wantaim paitim bilong bainat, na bikpela kilim i dai, na bagarap olgeta, na mekim wanem samting ol i gat laik i go long ol husat i hetim ol. | Thus the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would unto those that hated them.
Na long haus king Susan ol Ju i bin kilim i dai na bagarapim olgeta 500 man. | And in Shushan the palace the Jews slew and destroyed five hundred men.
Na Parsandata, na Dalfon, na Aspata, | And Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha,
Na Porata, na Adalia, na Aridata, | And Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha,
Na Parmasta, na Arisai, na Aridai, na Vajesata, | And Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vajezatha,
Tenpela pikinini man bilong Haman, pikinini man bilong Hamedata, birua bilong ol Ju, ol i kilim i dai. Tasol long ol kago bilong pait ol i no putim han bilong ol. | The ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews, slew they; but on the spoil laid they not their hand.
Long dispela de namba bilong ol husat ol i kilim i dai long haus king Susan ol i bringim long ai bilong king. | On that day the number of those that were slain in Shushan the palace was brought before the king.
Na king i tokim kwin Esta, Ol Ju i bin kilim i dai na bagarapim olgeta 500 man long haus king Susan, na tenpela pikinini man bilong Haman. Ol i bin mekim wanem long olgeta arapela hap bilong ol provins bilong king? Nau strongpela askim bilong yu em i wanem? Na mi bai oraitim long yu. O, askim moa bilong yu em i wanem? Na dispela ol bai mekim. | And the king said unto Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces? now what is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: or what is thy request further? and it shall be done.
Nau Esta i tok, Sapos em i amamasim bel bilong king, larim em oraitim ol Ju husat i stap long Susan bilong mekim tumora tu bilong bihainim dispela strongpela tokaut bilong tude, na larim ol i hangamapim tenpela pikinini man bilong Haman long ples bilong hangamapim man. | Then said Esther, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in Shushan to do to morrow also according unto this day’s decree, and let Haman’s ten sons be hanged upon the gallows.
Na king i tok strong olsem dispela i mas kamap. Na ol i givim dispela strongpela tokaut long Susan. Na ol i hangamapim tenpela pikinini man bilong Haman. | And the king commanded it so to be done: and the decree was given at Shushan; and they hanged Haman’s ten sons.
Long wanem, ol Ju husat i stap long Susan i bungim ol yet wantaim long namba 14 de tu bilong mun Adar, na kilim i dai 300 man long Susan. Tasol long ol prais bilong pait ol i no putim han bilong ol. | For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not their hand.
Tasol ol arapela Ju, husat i stap long ol provins bilong king, i bungim ol yet wantaim, na sanap bilong lukautim ol laip bilong ol, na i gat malolo long ol birua bilong ol, na kilim i dai bilong ol birua bilong ol 75,000. Tasol ol i no putim ol han bilong ol long ol prais bilong pait, | But the other Jews that were in the king’s provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the prey,
Long namba 13 de bilong mun Adar. Na long namba 14 de bilong en stret ol i malolo, na makim dispela wanpela de bilong bikpela kaikai na amamas. | On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.
Tasol ol Ju husat i stap long Susan i bung wantaim long namba 13 de bilong en, na long namba 14 bilong en. Na long namba 15 de bilong en stret ol i malolo, na makim dispela wanpela de bilong bikpela kaikai na amamas. | But the Jews that were at Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.
Olsem na ol Ju bilong ol vilis, husat i stap long ol taun i no gat banis, i mekim namba 14 de bilong mun Adar wanpela de bilong amamas na bikpela kaikai, na wanpela gutpela de, na bilong salim ol hap skel wanpela i go long narapela. | Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns, made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.
¶ Na Mordekai i raitim ol dispela samting, na salim ol pas i go long olgeta Ju husat i stap long olgeta provins bilong king Ahasuerus, klostu na longwe wantaim, | And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both nigh and far,
Long makim strong dispela namel long ol, inap long ol mas holimpas namba 14 de bilong mun Adar, na namba 15 de bilong en stret, olgeta wan wan yia, | To stablish this among them, that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly,
Olsem ol de we ol Ju i malolo insait long ol long ol birua bilong ol, na long dispela mun i tanim long ol long lusim bel hevi i kamap amamas tru, na i lusim soim sori i kamap wanpela gutpela de. Ol i makim inap long ol i ken makim ol ol de bilong bikpela kaikai na amamas tru, na bilong salim ol hap skel wanpela i go long narapela, na ol presen long ol rabisman. | As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.
Na ol Ju i mekim pinis olsem ol i bin stat long mekim, na olsem Mordekai i bin raitim i go long ol. | And the Jews undertook to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written unto them;
Bilong wanem, Haman, pikinini man bilong Hamedata, man Egak, birua bilong olgeta Ju, i bin kamapim plen i birua long ol Ju bilong bagarapim ol olgeta. Na em i bin tromoi Pur, em i olsem, dispela satu, bilong kaikai ol olgeta, na bilong bagarapim ol olgeta. | Because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had devised against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is, the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them;
Tasol taim Esta i kam long ai bilong king, em i tok strong long ol pas long plen nogut bilong em, dispela em kamapim plen long en i birua bilong ol Ju, i ken kam bek antap long het bilong em yet, na long em na ol pikinini man bilong em i ken hangamap long ples bilong hangamapim man. | But when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.
Olsem na ol i kolim nem bilong ol dispela de Purim bilong bihainim nem Pur. Olsem na olgeta toktok bilong dispela pas, na bilong dispela samting ol i bin lukim long sait bilong dispela samting, na dispela i bin kam antap long ol, | Wherefore they called these days Purim after the name of Pur. Therefore for all the words of this letter, and of that which they had seen concerning this matter, and which had come unto them,
Ol Ju i makim, na kisim antap long ol, na antap long tumbuna pikinini bilong ol, na antap long olgeta kain husat husat i bungim ol yet i go long ol, inap long em i no ken fel, long ol i ken holimpas dispela tupela de bilong bihainim ol rait bilong ol, na bilong bihainim taim ol i makim bilong ol olgeta wan wan yia. | The Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to their writing, and according to their appointed time every year;
Na long ol i ken holim tingim long ol dispela de na holimpas ol i go long olgeta wan wan lain tumbuna, olgeta wan wan famili, na olgeta wan wan provins, na olgeta wan wan biktaun, na long ol dispela de bilong Purim i no ken fel namel long ol Ju, o samting bilong holim tingting long ol i no inap i dai olgeta long tumbuna pikinini bilong ol. | And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed.
Nau kwin Esta, pikinini meri bilong Abihail, na Ju Mordekai, i rait wantaim olgeta namba, bilong tok yes long dispela namba tu pas bilong Purim. | Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority, to confirm this second letter of Purim.
Na em i salim ol pas i go long olgeta Ju, long dispela 127 provins bilong kingdom bilong Ahasuerus, wantaim ol toktok bilong bel isi na tok i tru, | And he sent the letters unto all the Jews, to the hundred twenty and seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, with words of peace and truth,
Bilong tok yes long ol dispela de bilong Purim long ol taim ol i makim bilong ol, bilong bihainim olsem Ju Mordekai na kwin Esta i bin tok strong long ol, na olsem ol i bin givim strongpela tokaut bilong ol yet na bilong tumbuna pikinini bilong ol, bilong ol samting bilong tambuim kaikai na krai bilong ol. | To confirm these days of Purim in their times appointed, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had enjoined them, and as they had decreed for themselves and for their seed, the matters of the fastings and their cry.
Na strongpela tokaut bilong Esta i tok yes long ol dispela samting bilong Purim. Na ol i raitim dispela long buk. | And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book.
