| 2 | Na spirit i kam insait long mi taim Em i toktok long mi, na sanapim mi long tupela lek bilong mi, inap long mi harim Em husat i toktok long mi. | And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me. |
| 3 | Na Em i tokim mi, Pikinini man bilong man, Mi salim yu i go long ol pikinini bilong Isrel, long wanpela bikhet kantri husat i bin bikhet i birua long Mi. Ol na ol tumbuna papa bilong ol i bin kalapim lo i birua long Mi, yes, i kam inap long dispela de stret. | And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day. |

| 5 | Na ol, sapos ol i laik harim, o sapos ol i laik pasim bel, (long wanem, ol i wanpela bikhet hauslain,) yet ol bai save long i gat wanpela profet i bin stap namel long ol. | And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them. |

No ken pret long ol toktok bilong ol, o wari planti long ol pes bilong ol, maski ol i stap wanpela bikhet hauslain. | And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. |

Opim maus bilong yu, na kaikai dispela samting Mi givim yu. | But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee. |

Na insait long en ol i raitim ol krai sori, na soim sori, na tok lukaut. | And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe. |
