|---|---|---|
¶ Yupela olgeta manmeri, yupela harim dispela. Yupela olgeta manmeri i stap long dispela graun, yupela harim. | Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
Mi tok long ol man i no gat nem na ol man i gat biknem, ol maniman na ol rabisman wantaim. | Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
Maus bilong mi bai i toktok long save tru. Na tingting bilong bel bilong mi bai i stap long gutpela save. | My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
Bai mi putim ia i go long tok piksa. Bai mi autim tok tudak bilong mi long dispela samting bilong mekim musik, em harp. | I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
Bilong wanem mi mas pret long ol de nogut, taim sin nogut bilong ol lek bilong mi i raunim mi nabaut? | Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
¶ Ol man i bilip long mani bilong ol na ol yet i litimapim nating mani samting bilong ol i planti tru, | They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
I no gat wanpela namel long ol inap painim rot bilong baim bek brata bilong en. Na tu em i no inap givim wanpela samting long God bilong baim bek dispela brata. | None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
(Long wanem pe bilong baim bek tewel bilong ol em i dia tumas, na dispela em i pinis oltaim oltaim.) | (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)
Em i no inap baim bek dispela brata bai em i ken stap laip yet oltaim oltaim na bai em i no lukim pasin bilong bagarap. | That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
Long wanem em i lukim olsem ol man i gat save tru ol i dai pinis. Na tu krankiman na man i olsem wel abus ol i bagarap. Na ol i lusim ol mani samting bilong ol i go long ol arapela man. | For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
Tingting i stap insait long ol em i olsem, ol hauslain bilong ol bai stap oltaim oltaim, na ol ples ol i sindaun long en bai stap inap long taim bilong olgeta lain tumbuna pikinini. Ol i kolim ol graun bilong ol long bihainim ol nem bilong ol yet. | Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.
Tasol man i gat ona em i no save stap. Em i olsem ol animal i dai pinis. | Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
Dispela pasin bilong ol em i kranki pasin bilong ol. Tasol ol pikinini bilong ol i amamas long ol tok bilong ol. Sela. | This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.
Ol i slipim ol long matmat olsem sipsip. Dai bai i kaikai ol. Na ol stretpela man bai i bosim ol long moningtaim. Na bai naispela samting bilong ol i bagarap olgeta long matmat long ples ol i sindaun long en. | Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
¶ Tasol God bai baim bek tewel bilong mi long strong bilong matmat. Long wanem bai Em i kisim mi. Sela. | But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
Yupela no ken pret taim man i kamap maniman, taim glori bilong ol hauslain bilong em i kamap bikpela. | Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
Long wanem, taim em i dai pinis, bai em i no karim wanpela samting i go. Glori bilong en bai i no bihainim em i go daun. | For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
Tru tasol, taim em i stap laip, em i bin blesim tewel bilong en. Na ol man bai litimapim nem bilong yu taim yu mekim gut long yu yet. | Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
Tasol em bai i go long lain tumbuna bilong ol papa bilong en. Bai ol i no lukim lait, nogat tru. | He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.
Man i gat ona na i no gat gutpela save em i olsem ol animal i dai pinis. | Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
