| 2 | Na BIKPELA i tok, Juda bai go antap. Lukim, Mi bin givim dispela hap i go long han bilong em. | And the Lord said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand. |

Olsem na Simion i go wantaim em. | And Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with thee into thy lot. So Simeon went with him. |

| 6 | Tasol Adoni-besek i ranawe. Na ol i ran bihainim em, na kisim em, na katim i go tupela bikpela pinga bilong em na tupela bikpela pinga bilong lek bilong em. | But Adoni–bezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes. |

Olsem mi bin mekim, olsem tasol God i bin bekim pe long mi. Na ol i bringim em long Jerusalem, na em i dai pinis long dispela hap. | And Adoni–bezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died. |

| 9 | ¶ Na bihain long en ol pikinini bilong Juda i go daun long pait birua long ol lain Kenan, husat i stap long maunten, na long hap saut, na long ples daun. | And afterward the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites, that dwelt in the mountain, and in the south, and in the valley. |
| 10 | Na Juda i go birua long ol lain Kenan husat i stap long Hebron. (Nau nem bilong Hebron bipo em i Kiriat-arba.) Na ol i kilim i dai Sesai, na Ahiman, na Talmai. | And Judah went against the Canaanites that dwelt in Hebron: (now the name of Hebron before was Kirjath–arba:) and they slew Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai. |

| 12 | Na Kelep i tok, Man husat i paitim Kiriat-sefer, na kisim dispela, long em bai mi givim Aksa, pikinini meri bilong mi, long maritim. | And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath–sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife. |
| 13 | Na Otniel, pikinini man bilong Kenas, liklik brata bilong Kelep, i kisim dispela. Na em i givim em Aksa, pikinini meri bilong em, long maritim. | And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife. |

Na Kelep i tokim em, Yu laikim wanem? | And it came to pass, when she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wilt thou? |

Na Kelep i givim em ol ai bilong wara antap na ol ai bilong wara daunbilo. | And she said unto him, Give me a blessing: for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs. |

Na ol i go na stap namel long ol manmeri. | And the children of the Kenite, Moses’ father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people. |
| 17 | Na Juda i go wantaim Simion, brata bilong em, na ol i kilim i dai ol lain Kenan husat i stap long Sefat, na bagarapim dispela olgeta. Na ol i kolim nem bilong dispela biktaun Horma. | And Judah went with Simeon his brother, and they slew the Canaanites that inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it. And the name of the city was called Hormah. |
| 18 | Juda tu i kisim Gasa wantaim ol hap arere bilong en, na Askelon wantaim ol hap arere bilong en, na Ekron wantaim ol hap arere bilong en. | Also Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof. |

Tasol em i no inap long ranim i go ausait ol husat i stap long ples daun, bilong wanem, ol i gat ol karis ain. | And the Lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron. |
| 20 | Na ol i givim Hebron i go long Kelep, olsem Moses i tok. Na em i rausim i go ausait long dispela ples dispela tripela pikinini man bilong Anak. | And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak. |
| 21 | ¶ Na ol pikinini bilong Benjamin i no bin ranim i go ausait ol lain Jebus husat i stap long Jerusalem. Tasol ol lain Jebus i stap wantaim ol pikinini bilong Benjamin long Jerusalem inap long tude. | And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day. |
| 22 | Na hauslain bilong Josep, ol tu i go antap long birua long Betel. Na BIKPELA i stap wantaim ol. | And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Beth–el: and the Lord was with them. |
| 23 | Na hauslain bilong Josep i salim ol man long lukstil long Betel. (Nau nem bilong dispela biktaun bipo em i Lus.) | And the house of Joseph sent to descry Beth–el. (Now the name of the city before was Luz.) |
| 24 | Na ol man bilong lukstil i lukim wanpela man i kam ausait long biktaun, na ol i tokim em, Soim mipela, mipela askim yu plis, dua i go insait long biktaun, na mipela bai soim sori long yu. | And the spies saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said unto him, Shew us, we pray thee, the entrance into the city, and we will shew thee mercy. |

Tasol ol i larim man i go na olgeta famili bilong em. | And when he shewed them the entrance into the city, they smote the city with the edge of the sword; but they let go the man and all his family. |
| 26 | Na man i go insait long hap bilong ol lain Hit, na wokim wanpela biktaun, na kolim nem bilong en Lus. Dispela em i nem bilong en inap long tude. | And the man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city, and called the name thereof Luz: which is the name thereof unto this day. |
| 27 | Na tu Manasa i no bin ranim i go ausait ol husat i stap long Bet-sean na ol taun bilong en, o Teanak na ol taun bilong en, o ol husat i stap long Dor na ol taun bilong en, o ol husat i stap long Ipleam na ol taun bilong en, o ol husat i stap long Megido na ol taun bilong en. Tasol ol lain Kenan i gat laik long stap long dispela hap. | Neither did Manasseh drive out the inhabitants of Beth–shean and her towns, nor Taanach and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns: but the Canaanites would dwell in that land. |
| 28 | Na em i kamap olsem, taim Isrel i gat strong, long ol putim takis antap long ol lain Kenan, na ol i no bin ranim ol i go ausait olgeta. | And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, and did not utterly drive them out. |
| 29 | Na tu Ifraim i no bin ranim i go ausait ol lain Kenan husat i stap long Geser. Tasol ol lain Kenan i stap long Geser namel long ol. | Neither did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them. |

Tasol ol lain Kenan i stap namel long ol, na kamap ol lain bilong baim takis long ol. | Neither did Zebulun drive out the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants of Nahalol; but the Canaanites dwelt among them, and became tributaries. |
| 31 | Na tu Aser i no bin ranim i go ausait ol husat i stap long Ako, o ol husat i stap long Saidon, o long Alap, o long Aksip, o long Helba, o long Afik, o long Rehop. | Neither did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants of Zidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob: |

Tasol ol husat i stap long Bet-semes na long Bet-anat i kamap ol lain bilong baim takis long ol. | Neither did Naphtali drive out the inhabitants of Beth–shemesh, nor the inhabitants of Beth–anath; but he dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: nevertheless the inhabitants of Beth–shemesh and of Beth–anath became tributaries unto them. |

Tasol han bilong hauslain bilong Josep i winim ol, inap long ol i kamap ol lain bilong baim takis long ol. | But the Amorites would dwell in mount Heres in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim: yet the hand of the house of Joseph prevailed, so that they became tributaries. |
| 36 | Na hap arere bilong ol lain Amor em i stat long hap i go antap long Akrabim, i stat long dispela ston, na i go antap. | And the coast of the Amorites was from the going up to Akrabbim, from the rock, and upward. |
