¶ Nau i gat wanpela bikpela taim hangre long ol de bilong Devit tripela yia, yia i bihainim yia. Na Devit i askim long BIKPELA. Na BIKPELA i bekim tok, Em i bilong Sol, na bilong hauslain bilong em i pulap long blut, bilong wanem, em i kilim i dai ol lain Gibion. | Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the Lord. And the Lord answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
Na king i singautim ol lain Gibion, na tokim ol, (nau ol lain Gibion i no bilong ol pikinini bilong Isrel, tasol ol i hap lain i stap yet bilong ol lain Amor, na ol pikinini bilong Isrel i bin wokim strongpela promis long ol. Na Sol i painim rot long kilim ol i dai taim em i hatwok tru long sait bilong ol pikinini bilong Isrel na Juda.) | And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
Olsem na Devit i tokim ol lain Gibion, Mi bai mekim wanem samting bilong stretim yupela? Na bai mi mekim karamapim long mekim i kamap wanbel wantaim wanem samting, inap long yupela ken blesim samting papa i givim pikinini bilong BIKPELA? | Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the Lord?
Na ol lain Gibion i tokim em, Mipela i no gat laik long kisim silva o gol long Sol, o long hauslain bilong em. Na tu long stretim mipela yu no ken kilim wanpela man long Isrel. Na em i tok, Wanem samting yupela tok, dispela bai mi mekim bilong stretim yupela. | And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.
Na ol i bekim tok long king, Dispela man husat i kaikai mipela olgeta, na husat i kamapim plen i birua long mipela inap long mipela i ken bagarap olgeta long stap yet insait long wanpela hap arere bilong Isrel, | And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,
Larim king i givim sevenpela man bilong ol pikinini man bilong em i kam long mipela, na mipela bai hangamapim ol i go long BIKPELA long Gibia bilong Sol, husat BIKPELA i bin makim. Na king i tok, Mi bai givim ol. | Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the Lord in Gibeah of Saul, whom the Lord did choose. And the king said, I will give them.
Tasol king i soim sori long Mefiboset, pikinini man bilong Jonatan, pikinini man bilong Sol, bilong tingim dispela strongpela promis bilong BIKPELA i stap namel long tupela, namel long Devit na Jonatan, pikinini man bilong Sol. | But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the Lord’s oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
Tasol king i kisim tupela pikinini man bilong Rispa, pikinini meri bilong Ea, husat em i karim long Sol, Amoni na Mefiboset. Na em i kisim dispela faipela pikinini man bilong Mikal, pikinini meri bilong Sol, husat em i lukautim long helpim Adriel, pikinini man bilong man Mehola Basilai. | But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
Na em i givim ol long ol han bilong ol lain Gibion, na ol i hangamapim ol long liklik maunten long ai bilong BIKPELA. Na olgeta sevenpela ol i pundaun wantaim, na ol i mekim ol i dai long ol de bilong kamautim kaikai, long ol namba wan de, long stat bilong taim bilong kamautim bali. | And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the Lord: and they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.
¶ Na Rispa, pikinini meri bilong Ea, i kisim bek laplap, na opim dispela bilong em yet antap long ston, i stat long stat bilong taim bilong kamautim bali i go inap wara i kam daun long ol long heven, na em i no larim ol pisin bilong skai long malolo antap long ol long san, o long ol animal bilong ples kunai long nait tu. | And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
Na ol i tokim Devit long wanem samting Rispa, pikinini meri bilong Ea, nambatu lain meri bilong Sol, i bin mekim. | And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
Na Devit i go na kisim ol bun bilong Sol, na ol bun bilong Jonatan, pikinini man bilong em, long ol man bilong Jebes-gileat, husat i bin stilim ol long rot bilong Bet-san, we ol Filistin i bin hangamapim ol, taim ol Filistin i bin kilim i dai Sol long Gilboa. | And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh–gilead, which had stolen them from the street of Beth–shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:
Na long dispela ples em i bringim i kam antap ol bun bilong Sol na ol bun bilong Jonatan, pikinini man bilong em. Na ol i bungim ol bun bilong ol husat ol i hangamapim. | And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.
Na ol bun bilong Sol na Jonatan, pikinini man bilong em, ol i planim long hap bilong Benjamin long Sela, long matmat bilong Kis, papa bilong em. Na ol i wokim olgeta samting king i tok strong long wokim. Na bihain long dispela, God i harim strongpela askim bilong helpim dispela hap. | And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.
¶ Na moa tu ol Filistin i gat bikpela pait yet gen wantaim Isrel. Na Devit i go daun, na ol wokboi bilong em wantaim em, na pait birua long ol Filistin. Na Devit i wok long hap i dai. | Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
Na Isbi-benop, husat i wanpela bilong ol pikinini man bilong dispela traipela man, husat hevi bilong spia bilong tromoi bilong em i 300 sekel bras long hevi, taim em i pas nabaut wantaim wanpela nupela bainat, em i gat tingting long kilim i dai Devit. | And Ishbi–benob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.
Tasol Abisai, pikinini man bilong Seruaia, i helpim em, na paitim dispela Filistin, na kilim em. Nau ol lain bilong Devit i wokim strongpela promis i go long em, i spik, Yu bai i no inap go ausait moa wantaim mipela long pait, inap long yu no kilim i dai lait bilong Isrel. | But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.
Na em i kamap olsem bihain long dispela, long i gat wanpela pait gen wantaim ol Filistin long Gop. Nau man Husat Sibekai i kilim i dai Sap, husat i wanpela bilong ol pikinini man bilong dispela traipela man. | And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.
Na i gat wanpela pait gen long Gop wantaim ol Filistin, we Elhanan, pikinini man bilong Jeare-oregim, wanpela man Betlehem, i kilim i dai brata bilong man Gat Golaiat, husat handel bilong spia bilong tromoi bilong em i olsem bikpela hap diwai bilong man bilong wokim laplap. | And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare–oregim, a Beth–lehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.
Na i gat wanpela pait yet long Gat, we i gat wanpela man i longpela tru, husat i gat long tupela han wan wan sikispela pinga, na long tupela fut wan wan, sikispela pinga, 24 olgeta. Na em tu, meri i karim long dispela traipela man. | And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
Na taim em i duim Isrel, Jonatan, pikinini man bilong Simea, brata bilong Devit, i kilim em i dai. | And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.
Ol dispela fopela, meri i karim long dispela traipela man long Gat, na ol i pundaun long han bilong Devit, na long han bilong ol wokboi bilong em. | These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
