¶ Na Sol i tokim pikinini man bilong em Jonatan, na olgeta wokboi bilong em, long ol i mas kilim Devit. | And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
Tasol pikinini man bilong Sol Jonatan i gat planti gutpela amamas long Devit. Na Jonatan i tokim Devit, i spik, Papa bilong mi Sol i painim rot long kilim yu. Olsem na nau, mi askim yu plis, lukaut gut long yu yet inap long moning, na stap long ples hait, na haitim yu yet. | But Jonathan Saul’s son delighted much in David: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:
Na mi bai go ausait na sanap klostu long papa bilong mi long ples kunai we yu stap, na mi bai stori wantaim papa bilong mi long yu. Na wanem samting mi lukim, dispela mi bai tokim yu. | And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will commune with my father of thee; and what I see, that I will tell thee.
Na Jonatan i toktok gut long sait bilong Devit long papa bilong em, na tokim em, No ken larim king i mekim sin i birua long wokboi bilong em, i birua long Devit. Bilong wanem, em i no bin mekim sin i birua long yu, na bilong wanem, ol wok bilong em i bin gutpela tru i go long yu. | And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good:
Long wanem, em i bin putim laip bilong em long han bilong em, na kilim i dai dispela Filistin, na BIKPELA i wokim bikpela kisim bek bilong helpim olgeta Isrel. Yu lukim dispela, na yu bin wokim amamas tru. Olsem wanem na nau yu laik mekim sin i birua long blut i no bin mekim rong, na long kilim Devit i dai taim i no gat as bilong en? | For he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the Lord wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?
Na Sol i harim nek bilong Jonatan. Na Sol i wokim strongpela promis, Olsem BIKPELA i stap laip, mi bai i no inap kilim em i dai. | And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware, As the Lord liveth, he shall not be slain.
Na Jonatan i singautim Devit, na Jonatan i soim em olgeta dispela samting. Na Jonatan i bringim Devit i go long Sol, na em i stap long pes bilong em, olsem long ol taim bipo. | And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan shewed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as in times past.
¶ Na i gat bikpela pait gen. Na Devit i go ausait, na pait wantaim ol Filistin, na kilim ol i dai wantaim wanpela bikpela kilim i dai. Na ol i ranawe long em. | And there was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled from him.
Na dispela spirit nogut i kam long BIKPELA i stap antap long Sol, taim em i sindaun long haus bilong em wantaim bikpela spia bilong em long han bilong em. Na Devit i pilai musik wantaim han bilong em. | And the evil spirit from the Lord was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand.
Na Sol i painim rot long paitim Devit, yes, long banis wantaim dispela bikpela spia. Tasol em i lusim i go isi isi pes bilong Sol, na em i paitim bikpela spia long banis. Na Devit i ranawe, na ranawe olgeta long dispela nait. | And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away out of Saul’s presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.
¶ Sol tu i salim ol mausman long haus bilong Devit, long was long em, na long kilim em i dai long moning. Na Mikal, meri bilong Devit, i tokim em, i spik, Sapos yu no kisim bek laip bilong yu tude nait, tumora ol bai kilim yu i dai. | Saul also sent messengers unto David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David’s wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, to morrow thou shalt be slain.
Olsem na Mikal i lusim Devit i go daun ausait long wanpela windo. Na em i go, na ranawe, na i ranawe olgeta. | So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
Na Mikal i kisim wanpela piksa god, na slipim dispela long bet, na putim pilo ol i wokim long gras bilong meme bilong stap pilo bilong em, na karamapim dispela wantaim wanpela laplap. | And Michal took an image, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair for his bolster, and covered it with a cloth.
Na Taim Sol i salim ol mausman long kisim Devit, meri i tok, Em i sik. | And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.
Na Sol i salim ol mausman gen long lukim Devit, i spik, Bringim em long bet i kam antap long mi, inap long mi ken kilim em i dai. | And Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.
Na taim ol mausman i kam insait, lukim, i gat wanpela piksa god i stap long bet, wantaim pilo ol i wokim long gras bilong meme bilong pilo bilong em. | And when the messengers were come in, behold, there was an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats’ hair for his bolster.
Na Sol i tokim Mikal, Bilong wanem yu bin giamanim mi olsem, na salim birua bilong mi i go, inap long em i ranawe olgeta? Na Mikal i bekim tok long Sol, Em i tokim mi, Larim mi go, bilong wanem mi mas kilim yu? | And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me so, and sent away mine enemy, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?
¶ Olsem na Devit i ranawe, na ranawe olgeta, na kamap long Samyuel long Rama, na tokim em long olgeta samting Sol i bin mekim long em. Na em na Samyuel i go na stap long Naiot. | So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.
Na ol i tokim Sol, i spik, Lukim, Devit i stap long Naiot long Rama. | And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.
Na Sol i salim ol mausman long kisim Devit. Na taim ol i lukim ol lain bilong ol profet i wok long autim tok profet, na Samyuel i sanap olsem God i makim em long bosim ol, Spirit bilong God i stap antap long ol mausman bilong Sol, na ol tu i autim tok profet. | And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
Na taim ol i tokim Sol long en, em i salim ol arapela mausman, na ol i autim tok profet wankain olsem. Na Sol i salim ol mausman gen long namba tri taim, na ol i autim tok profet tu. | And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.
Nau em i go tu long Rama, na kamap long dispela bikpela hul wara i stap long Seku. Na em i askim na tok, Samyuel tupela Devit i stap we? Na wanpela i tok, Lukim, ol i stap long Naiot long Rama. | Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah.
Na em i go long dispela hap long Naiot long Rama. Na Spirit bilong God i stap antap long em tu, na em i go yet, na autim tok profet, inap long em i kamap long Naiot long Rama. | And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
Na em i rausim olgeta klos bilong em tu, na autim tok profet long ai bilong Samyuel long wankain pasin, na slip skin nating olgeta hap bilong dispela de na olgeta hap bilong dispela nait. Olsem na ol i save tok, Sol tu i stap namel long ol profet? | And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?
