| 21 | Long wanem, Isrel na ol Filistin i bin putim ol lain bilong pait, ami i birua long ami. | For Israel and the Philistines had put the battle in array, army against army. |

Na Devit i harim ol toktok. | And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according to the same words: and David heard them. |
| 24 | Na olgeta man bilong Isrel, taim ol i lukim dispela man, i ranawe long em, na ol i pret tru. | And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid. |

| 27 | Na ol lain i bekim tok long em i bihainim dispela pasin, i spik, Olsem tasol ol bai mekim dispela long man husat i kilim em. | And the people answered him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that killeth him. |

Long wanem, yu bin kam daun inap long yu ken lukim pait. | And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle. |
| 29 | Na Devit i tok, Mi bin mekim wanem nau? Ating i yes long i gat as bilong pait? | And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause? |

| 33 | Na Sol i tokim Devit, Yu no stap inap long go birua long dispela Filistin long pait wantaim em. Long wanem, yu stap wanpela yangpela man tasol, na em i man bilong bikpela pait taim em i yangpela inap long nau. | And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth. |
| 34 | Na Devit i tokim Sol, Wokboi bilong yu i lukautim ol sipsip bilong papa bilong em, na wanpela laion i kam, na wanpela bea, na kisim wanpela pikinini sipsip ausait long lain sipsip. | And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: |

Na taim em i kirap na birua long mi, mi holimpas em long mausgras bilong em, na paitim em, na kilim em i dai. | And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. |
| 36 | Wokboi bilong yu i kilim i dai laion na bea wantaim. Na dispela Filistin i no katim skin bai stap olsem wanpela bilong ol, taim yumi luksave long em i bin duim ol ami bilong God i stap laip. | Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God. |
| 37 | Devit i tok moa tu, BIKPELA husat i kisim bek mi ausait long han bilong laion, na ausait long han bilong bea, Em bai kisim bek mi ausait long han bilong dispela Filistin. Na Sol i tokim Devit, Goan, na BIKPELA i ken stap wantaim yu. | David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee. |
| 38 | Na Sol i putim klos pait long Devit wantaim klos pait bilong em, na em i putim hat ain antap long het bilong em. Na tu em i putim klos pait long em wantaim wanpela saket ain. | And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail. |
| 39 | Na Devit i pasim bainat bilong em antap long klos pait bilong em, na em i laik traim pastaim long i go. Long wanem, em i no bin pruvim dispela. Na David i tokim Sol, Mi no ken go wantaim ol dispela samting. Long wanem, mi no bin pruvim ol. Na Devit i rausim ol long em. | And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him. |
| 40 | ¶ Na em i kisim stik bilong em long han bilong em, na makim bilong em faipela ston i no rap liklik i kam ausait long liklik wara, na putim ol long dispela bilum bilong wasman bilong sipsip em i gat, yes, insait long wanpela liklik bek. Na katapel bilong em i stap long han bilong em. | 41 | Na dispela Filistin i kam yet na wok long kam klostu long Devit. Na dispela man husat i karim plang i go pas long em. | And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him. |
| 42 | Na taim dispela Filistin i lukluk nabaut, na lukim Devit, em i lap long daunim em. Long wanem, em i wanpela yangpela man tasol, na retpela, na pes bilong em i naispela. | And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance. |
| 43 | Na dispela Filistin i tokim Devit, Mi wanpela dok, inap long yu kam long mi wantaim ol stik bilong pait? Na dispela Filistin i tok nogutim Devit long ol god bilong em. | And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. |
| 44 | Na dispela Filistin i tokim Devit, Kam long mi, na mi bai givim bodi bilong yu long ol pisin bilong skai, na long ol animal bilong ples kunai. | And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field. |

| 50 | Olsem na Devit i winim dispela Filistin wantaim katapel na wantaim ston, na paitim dispela Filistin, na kilim em i dai. Tasol i no gat bainat long han bilong Devit. | So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David. |

And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto Gath, and unto Ekron. |

Na Apner i tok, Olsem tewel bilong yu i stap laip, O king, mi no save. | And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said unto Abner, the captain of the host, Abner, whose son is this youth? And Abner said, As thy soul liveth, O king, I cannot tell. |
| 56 | Na king i tok, Yu askim nabaut long dispela bun nating manki em i pikinini man bilong husat. | And the king said, Enquire thou whose son the stripling is. |
