O gutpela moa em i laik bilong God long mipela i bin dai long dispela ples i no gat man. | And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! |

| 7 | Na ol i toktok i go long olgeta lain bilong ol pikinini bilong Isrel, i spik, Dispela hap, dispela mipela i wokabaut namel long en long painimaut tru long en, em i wanpela gutpela hap planti moa yet. | And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. |
| 8 | Sapos BIKPELA i gat gutpela amamas long yumi, orait Em bai bringim yumi i go insait long dispela hap, na givim dispela long yumi. Em i wanpela hap i ran wantaim susu na hani. | If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. |

Strong bilong ol bilong lukautim hap i lusim ol, na BIKPELA i stap wantaim yumi. No ken pretim ol. | Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not. |

And the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel. |

Na inap long wanem taim bai em i stap bipo ol bai bilipim Mi, long tingim olgeta dispela mak Mi bin soim namel long ol? | And the Lord said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them? |
| 12 | Mi bai paitim ol wantaim sik nogut, na rausim ol long samting papa i givim ol, na Mi bai wokim long yu wanpela kantri i bikpela moa na strongpela moa long ol. | I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they. |
| 13 | Na Moses i tokim BIKPELA, Nau ol lain Isip bai harim dispela, (long wanem, Yu bringim antap dispela lain manmeri long strong bilong Yu long lusim namel long ol,) | And Moses said unto the Lord, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;) |

Long wanem, ol i bin harim long Yu BIKPELA i stap namel long dispela lain manmeri, long Yu BIKPELA ol i bin lukim pes i go long pes, na long klaut bilong Yu i save sanap antap long ol, na long Yu save go paslain long ol, long taim bilong san insait long wanpela bikpela pos klaut, na insait long wanpela bikpela pos paia long nait. | And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou Lord art among this people, that thou Lord art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night. |

| 16 | Bikos BIKPELA i no inap long bringim dispela lain manmeri i go insait long dispela hap Em i wokim strongpela promis long ol, olsem na Em i bin kilim ol i dai long ples i no gat man. | Because the Lord was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness. |
| 17 | Na nau, mi askim Yu long daun pasin, larim pawa bilong Bikpela bilong mi i stap bikpela, bilong bihainim olsem Yu bin toktok, i spik, | And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying, |
| 18 | BIKPELA i gat pasin bilong karim pen longpela taim, na Em i Man bilong bikpela sori, i save lusim ol sin nogut na pasin bilong kalapim lo, na i no gat rot long Em i ken stretim olgeta ol man i gat asua, taim Em i mekim sin nogut bilong ol papa i kam lukim ol pikinini bilong ol i go inap long namba tri na namba foa lain tumbuna. | The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. |
| 19 | Lusim, mi askim Yu long daun pasin, pe bilong sin nogut bilong dispela lain manmeri bilong bihainim bikpela pasin sori bilong Yu, na olsem Yu bin lusim sin bilong dispela lain manmeri, i stat long Isip, yes, i kam inap long nau. | Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now. |
| 20 | ¶ Na BIKPELA i tok, Mi bin lusim pe bilong sin bilong bihainim toktok bilong yu. | And the Lord said, I have pardoned according to thy word: |
| 21 | Tasol tru tumas, olsem Mi stap laip, olgeta dispela graun bai pulap wantaim glori bilong BIKPELA. | But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord. |
| 22 | Bikos olgeta dispela man husat i bin lukim glori bilong Mi na ol mirakel bilong Mi, dispela Mi wokim long Isip na long ples i no gat man, na bin traim Mi nau dispela tenpela taim, na i no bin harim long nek bilong Mi, | Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice; |

Na tumbuna pikinini bilong em bai holimpas dispela. | But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it. |
| 25 | (Nau ol lain Amalek na ol lain Kenan i stap long ples daun.) Tumora, tanim yupela, na kisim yupela go long ples i no gat man long rot bilong Retsi. | (Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) To morrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea. |

I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me. |
| 28 | Tokim ol, Tru tumas, olsem Mi stap laip, BIKPELA i tok, olsem yupela i bin toktok long tupela ia bilong Mi, olsem tasol bai Mi mekim long yupela. | Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you: |

Na olgeta husat ol i kaunim namel long yupela, bilong bihainim namba olgeta bilong yupela, i stat long 20 krismas na i go antap, husat i bin tok baksait i birua long Mi, | Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me, |
| 30 | No ken holim tupela tingting, yupela bai i no inap i kam insait long dispela hap, dispela Mi wokim strongpela promis long sait bilong en long mekim yupela long i stap long en. Kelep, pikinini man bilong Jefune tasol, na Josua, pikinini man bilong Nun. | Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun. |

| 32 | Tasol long sait bilong yupela, ol daibodi bilong yupela, ol bai pundaun long dispela ples i no gat man. | But as for you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness. |
| 33 | Na ol pikinini bilong yupela bai raun nating long dispela ples i no gat man 40 yia, na karim hevi bilong ol pamuk pasin bilong yupela, inap long ol daibodi bilong yupela i pinis nating long ples i no gat man. | And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness. |
| 34 | Long bihainim ol namba bilong ol dispela de yupela i painimaut tru long dispela hap, yes 40 de, wanpela de bilong wanpela yia, bai yupela i karim hevi bilong ol sin nogut bilong yupela, yes 40 yia, na yupela bai save long bruk bilong promis bilong Mi. | After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise. |

Long dispela ples i no gat man bai Mi kaikai ol olgeta, na long dispela hap ol bai dai. | I the Lord have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die. |
| 36 | ¶ Na ol man, husat Moses i salim long painimaut tru dispela hap, husat i kam bek, na mekim olgeta bung bilong ol manmeri long tok baksait i birua long Em, taim ol i bringim wanpela toktok bilong giamanim nem antap long dispela hap, | And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land, |
| 37 | Yes, ol dispela man husat i bin bringim ripot nogut antap long dispela hap, i dai pinis long sik nogut long ai bilong BIKPELA. | Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the Lord. |
| 38 | Tasol Josua, pikinini man bilong Nun, na Kelep, pikinini man bilong Jefune, husat i bilong ol man husat i go long painimaut tru long dispela hap, i stap laip yet. | But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still. |
| 39 | Na Moses i tokim ol dispela toktok i go long olgeta pikinini bilong Isrel. Na ol manmeri i soim sori bikpela. | And Moses told these sayings unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly. |
| 40 | Na ol i kirap long moning tru, na kisim ol yet i go long antap bilong maunten, i spik, Harim, mipela i stap hia, na mipela bai go antap long ples BIKPELA i bin promisim. Long wanem, mipela i bin mekim sin. | And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the Lord hath promised: for we have sinned. |
| 41 | Na Moses i tok, Olsem wanem na nau yupela i kalapim lo bilong tok strong bilong BIKPELA? Tasol dispela bai i no inap kamap gutpela. | And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of the Lord? but it shall not prosper. |
| 42 | No ken go antap, long wanem, BIKPELA i no stap namel long yupela, inap long ol i no ken paitim yupela long ai bilong ol birua bilong yupela. | Go not up, for the Lord is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies. |
| 43 | Long wanem, ol lain Amalek na ol lain Kenan i stap long dispela hap long ai bilong yupela, na yupela bai pundaun long bainat. Bilong wanem, yupela i tanim na lusim BIKPELA, olsem na BIKPELA bai i no inap stap wantaim yupela. | For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from the Lord, therefore the Lord will not be with you. |

Tasol bokis kontrak bilong BIKPELA, na Moses, i no lusim kem i go ausait. | But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and Moses, departed not out of the camp. |
| 45 | Nau ol lain Amalek i kam daun, na ol lain Kenan husat i stap long dispela liklik maunten, na paitim ol, na bagarapim ol olgeta, yes, i go inap long Horma. | Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even unto Hormah. |
