¶ Na taim em i lukim ol bikpela lain tru, em i go antap long wanpela maunten. Na taim em i redi pinis, ol disaipel bilong em i kam long em. | And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
Na em i opim maus bilong em, na skulim ol, i spik, | And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
¶ Blesing i stap long ol tarangu long sait bilong spirit. Long wanem, kingdom bilong heven em i bilong ol. | Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blesing i stap long ol husat i soim sori. Long wanem, ol bai kisim bel isi. | Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blesing i stap long ol man bilong pasin isi. Long wanem, ol bai kisim dispela graun olsem samting papa i givim pikinini. | Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blesing i stap long ol husat i hangre na nekdrai long bihainim stretpela pasin. Long wanem, ol bai stap pulap. | Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blesing i stap long ol man i pulap long sori. Long wanem, ol bai kisim sori. | Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blesing i stap long ol husat bel bilong ol i klin. Long wanem, ol bai lukim God. | Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blesing i stap long ol man bilong mekim kros i dai. Long wanem, ol bai kolim ol ol pikinini bilong God. | Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blesing i stap long ol husat i kisim hevi long sait bilong stretpela pasin. Long wanem, kingdom bilong heven em i bilong ol. | Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blesing i stap long yupela, taim ol man bai sutim tok nogut long yupela, na givim hevi long yupela, na taim ol bai toktok long olgeta kain kain giaman tok nogut i birua long yupela, long tingim mi. | Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Wokim amamas tru, na stap amamas planti moa yet. Long wanem, pe bilong yupela long heven em i bikpela. Long wanem, olsem tasol ol i givim hevi long ol profet husat i bin stap bipo long yupela. | Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
¶ Yupela i stap sol bilong dispela graun. Tasol sapos sol i bin lusim test bilong en, ol bai putim sol long en wantaim wanem samting? Long dispela taim i go em i no gutpela long wanpela samting moa, tasol long ol i ken tromoi i go ausait, na long ol man i ken krungutim aninit long lek bilong ol. | Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Yupela i stap lait bilong dispela graun. Biktaun, dispela i sindaun antap long liklik maunten, i no inap stap hait. | Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Na tu ol man i no laitim kandel, na putim dispela aninit long busel, tasol antap long wanpela stik kandel. Na em i givim lait long olgeta husat i stap insait long haus. | Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Larim lait bilong yupela i ken lait tru olsem long ai bilong ol man, inap long ol i ken lukim ol gutpela wok bilong yupela, na givim glori long Papa bilong yupela husat i stap long heven. | Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
¶ No ken ting long mi kam long bagarapim lo olgeta, o ol profet. Mi no kam long bagarapim olgeta, tasol long inapim. | Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Long wanem, tru tumas, mi tokim yupela, Inap long taim heven na dispela graun i pinis, wanpela liklik hap tru o wanpela liklik hap mak bai i no inap tru long lus long lo, inap long olgeta i kamap pinis. | For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Olsem na husat man bai brukim wanpela bilong ol dispela strongpela tok i liklik olgeta, na bai skulim ol man olsem, ol bai kolim em liklik olgeta long kingdom bilong heven. Tasol husat man bai bihainim ol na skulim ol man long ol, em stret bai ol i kolim bikman insait long kingdom bilong heven. | Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Long wanem, mi tokim yupela, Long sapos stretpela pasin bilong yupela bai i no winim stretpela pasin bilong ol man bilong rait na ol Farisi, yupela bai i no inap olgeta long go insait long kingdom bilong heven. | For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
¶ Yupela i bin harim long ol man bilong taim bipo i tok olsem, Yu no ken kilim man. Na husat man bai kilim man bai i isi long em i ken kisim bagarap long kot. | Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Tasol mi tokim yupela, Long husat man i belhat wantaim brata bilong em taim i no gat as bilong en bai i isi long em i ken kisim bagarap long kot. Na husat man bai tokim brata bilong em, Raka, bai i isi long em i ken kisim bagarap long kaunsil. Tasol husat man bai tok, Yu krankiman, bai i isi long em i ken bagarap long hel paia. | But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Olsem na sapos yu bringim presen bilong yu long alta, na long dispela hap yu holim tingting long brata bilong yu i gat wanpela samting i birua long yu, | Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
Lusim presen bilong yu long dispela hap long ai bilong alta, na go long rot bilong yu. Mekim brata bilong yu i kamap wanbel wantaim yu pastaim, na nau kam na ofaim presen bilong yu. | Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Tok yes wantaim birua bilong yu kwiktaim, taim yu stap long rot wantaim em. Nogut long wanpela taim birua bilong yu i givim yu long jas, na jas i givim yu long ofisa, na em i tromoi yu i go long kalabus. | Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Tru tumas, mi tokim yu, Yu bai i no inap gat rot long kam ausait long dispela ples, inap long yu bin baim last hap fating. | Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
¶ Yupela i bin harim long ol man bilong taim bipo i tok olsem, Yu no ken bagarapim marit long pamuk pasin. | Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
Tasol mi tokim yupela, Long husat man i lukluk long wanpela meri long aigris i bihainim em i bin bagarapim marit long pamuk pasin wantaim em pinis insait long bel bilong em. | But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Na sapos han sut ai bilong yu i bagarapim bel bilong yu, pulim dispela i kam ausait, na tromoi dispela i lusim yu. Long wanem, em i gutpela bilong helpim yu long wanpela hap bilong bodi bilong yu i ken lus olgeta, na i no long ol i ken tromoi bodi olgeta bilong yu i go long hel. | And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Na sapos han sut bilong yu i bagarapim bel bilong yu, katim dispela i go, na tromoi dispela i lusim yu. Long wanem, em i gutpela bilong helpim yu long wanpela hap bilong bodi bilong yu i ken lus olgeta, na i no long ol i ken tromoi bodi olgeta bilong yu i go long hel. | And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Ol i bin tok, Husat man bai rausim i go meri bilong em, larim em givim em wanpela rait bilong brukim marit. | It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
Tasol mi tokim yupela, Long husat man bai rausim i go meri bilong em, sapos as bilong en i no pamuk pasin, i mekim meri long bagarapim marit long pamuk pasin. Na husat man bai maritim meri husat marit bilong em i bruk i mekim pasin bilong bagarapim marit long pamuk pasin. | But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
¶ Na gen, yupela i bin harim long ol man bilong taim bipo i bin tok olsem, Yu no ken brukim strongpela promis bilong yu yet, tasol yu bai wokim long Bikpela ol strongpela promis bilong yu. | Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
Tasol mi tokim yupela, No ken wokim strongpela promis liklik. No ken wokim long heven tu, long wanem, em i sia king bilong God, | But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:
O long dispela graun, long wanem, em i liklik sia bilong putim lek bilong em. Na tu no ken wokim long Jerusalem, long wanem, em i biktaun bilong dispela King i gat biknem. | Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
Na tu yu no ken wokim strongpela promis long het bilong yu, bilong wanem, yu no inap long mekim wanpela hap gras waitpela o blakpela | Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
Tasol larim ol toktok bilong yu i stap, Yes, yes, Nogat, nogat. Long wanem, wanem samting i moa long ol dispela i kam long pasin nogut. | But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
¶ Yupela i bin harim long ol i bin tok olsem, Wanpela ai bilong bekim ai, na wanpela tit bilong bekim tit. | Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
Tasol mi tokim yupela, Long yupela i no ken sanap na birua long pasin nogut. Tasol husat man bai paitim yu long han sut wasket bilong yu, tanim long em arapela tu. | But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Na sapos wanpela man bai kotim yu long lo, na tekewe saket bilong yu, larim em kisim ausait saket bilong yu tu. | And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
Na husat man bai pulim yu strong long go wanpela mail, go tupela wantaim em. | And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
Givim long em husat i askim long yu, na long em husat i gat laik long kisim dinau long yu yu no ken tanim em i go. | Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
¶ Yupela i bin harim long ol i bin tok olsem, Yu bai laikim tru man i stap klostu long yu, na hetim birua bilong yu. | Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Tasol mi tokim yupela, Laikim tru ol birua bilong yupela, blesim ol husat i toknogutim yupela, mekim gutpela long ol husat i hetim yupela, na beten long ol husat i mekim nogut tru long yupela, na givim hevi long yupela. | But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Inap long yupela i ken stap ol pikinini bilong Papa bilong yupela husat i stap long heven. Long wanem, em i mekim san bilong em long kamap long ol man nogut na long ol gutpela man, na em i salim ren long stretpela man na man i no stretpela. | That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Long wanem, sapos yupela i laikim tru ol husat i laikim tru yupela, yupela i gat wanem pe? Ating i yes long ol man bilong kisim takis i wokim wankain samting? | For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
Na sapos yupela i tok gude long ol brata bilong yupela tasol, yupela i mekim wanem i moa long ol arapela? Ating i yes long ol man bilong kisim takis i wokim olsem? | And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Olsem na yupela i mas stap inap tru, yes, olsem Papa bilong yupela husat i stap long heven em inap tru. | Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
