| 3 | Taim king Herot i bin harim ol dispela samting, em i pilim wari, na olgeta Jerusalem wantaim em. | When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. |

Long wanem, ausait long yu bai wanpela Nambawan Gavman i kam, husat bai bosim lain bilong mi Isrel. | And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. |

Na taim yupela i bin painim em pinis, bringim tok i kam long mi gen, inap long mi ken kam na lotuim em tu. | And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. |

Na, harim, sta, dispela ol i lukim long hap is, i go paslain long ol, inap long em i kam na sanap na lindaun antap long hap we dispela yangpela pikinini i stap. | When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. |

Na taim ol i bin opim ol samting i dia tru bilong ol, ol i givim ol presen long em, gol, na frankensens, na mur. | And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. |

Long wanem, Herot bai painim dispela yangpela pikinini long bagarapim em olgeta. | And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. |

| 16 | ¶ Nau Herot, taim em i luksave long ol dispela saveman i wokim pani long daunim em, em i belhat tru planti moa yet, na em i salim ol man i go ausait, na kilim i dai olgeta pikinini husat i stap long Betlehem, na long olgeta hap arere bilong en, i stat long tupela krismas na aninit, bilong bihainim dispela taim em i bin wok strong long askim long ol saveman. | Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. |

| 20 | I spik, Kirap, na kisim dispela yangpela pikinini na mama bilong em, na go insait long hap graun bilong Isrel. Long wanem, ol i dai pinis husat i painim laip bilong dispela yangpela pikinini. | Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child’s life. |

Tasol, taim God i tok lukaut long em long driman, em i tanim i go long sait i go insait long ol hap bilong Galili. | But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee: |
