¶ Long dispela taim Jisas i go long de sabat namel long ol wit samting. Na ol disaipel bilong em i hangre, na ol i stat long kamautim ol ia bilong wit samting, na long kaikai. | At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.
Tasol taim ol Farisi i lukim dispela, ol i tokim em, Lukim, ol disaipel bilong yu i mekim dispela samting i no orait long lo long mekim long de sabat. | But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
Tasol em i tokim ol, Ating i yes long yupela i bin ritim wanem samting Devit i mekim, taim em i hangre, na ol husat i stap wantaim em, | But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
Long em i go insait olsem wanem long haus bilong God, na em i bin kaikai dispela bret bilong soim, dispela i no orait long lo long em long kaikai, na tu long ol husat i stap wantaim em, tasol em i bilong ol pris tasol? | How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
O ating i yes long yupela i bin ritim long lo, long olsem wanem long ol de sabat ol pris insait long tempel i mekim de sabat i no holi, na ol i no gat asua? | Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
Tasol mi tokim yupela, Long insait long dispela ples wanpela i stap husat i winim dispela tempel. | But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
Tasol sapos yupela i bin save long dispela i gat wanem mining, Mi laikim sori, na sakrifais nogat, yupela i no bin sutim tok long man i no gat asua. | But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
Long wanem, Pikinini Man bilong man em i Bikpela, yes, bilong de sabat. | For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
Na taim em i lusim dispela ples, em i go insait long sinagog bilong ol. | And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
Na, lukim, i gat wanpela man husat i gat han bilong em i drai. Na ol i askim em, i spik, Em i orait aninit long lo long oraitim man long ol de sabat? Ol i askim inap long ol i ken sutim tok long em. | And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
Na em i tokim ol, Wanem man bai stap namel long yupela, husat bai i gat wanpela sipsip, na sapos em i pundaun insait long bikpela hul long de sabat, ating i yes long em bai holimpas em, na litimapim em i kam ausait? | And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
Hamas moa nau wanpela man i winim wanpela sipsip? Olsem na em i orait aninit long lo long mekim gutpela long ol de sabat. | How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
Nau em i tokim dispela man, Stretim han bilong yu i go ausait. Na em i stretim dispela i go ausait. Na em i kamap orait gen olgeta, wankain olsem arapela. | Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
¶ Nau ol Farisi i go ausait, na bungim wanpela kaunsil i birua long em, long ol i ken bagarapim em olgeta olsem wanem. | Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
Tasol taim Jisas i save long en, em i surikim em yet long lusim dispela ples. Na ol traipela lain tru i bihainim em, na em i oraitim olgeta bilong ol. | But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
Na em i givim tok long ol long ol i no ken mekim ol man long save long em, | And charged them that they should not make him known:
Inap long dispela toktok bilong profet Eseas i ken kamap pinis, i spik, | That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
Lukim wokboi bilong mi, husat mi bin makim. Man i stap klostu tru long bel bilong mi, long husat tewel bilong mi i gat amamas tru. Mi bai putim Spirit bilong mi antap long em, na em bai soim kot long ol man i no Ju. | Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
Em bai i no inap pait strong, o singaut. Na tu bai i no gat wanpela man bai harim nek bilong em long ol rot. | He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
Wanpela tiktik i bagarap liklik bai em i no inap brukim, na flaks i smuk bai em i no inap kilim i dai, inap long em i salim kot i go ausait inap long pasin bilong winim pait. | A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
Na ol man i no Ju bai putim bilip long nem bilong em. | And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
¶ Nau ol i bringim long em wanpela husat wanpela spirit nogut i holimpas em, aipas, na mauspas. Na em i oraitim em, inap olsem long aipas na mauspas i toktok na lukluk wantaim. | Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
Na olgeta manmeri i kirap nogut tru, na tok, Ating i yes long dispela em i pikinini man bilong Devit? | And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
Tasol taim ol Farisi i harim dispela, ol i tok, Dispela man i no rausim ol spirit nogut long arapela, tasol long wok bilong Bielsebap, hetman bilong ol spirit nogut. | But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
Na Jisas i save long ol tingting bilong ol, na em i tokim ol, Olgeta wan wan kingdom i bruk i birua long em yet i kamap samting i stap nating olgeta. Na olgeta wan wan biktaun o hauslain i bruk i birua long em yet bai i no inap sanap. | And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
Na sapos Seten i rausim Seten, em i bruk i birua long em yet. Nau kingdom bilong em bai sanap olsem wanem? | And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
Na sapos long wok bilong Bielsebap mi rausim ol spirit nogut, ol pikinini bilong yupela i rausim ol long wok bilong husat? Olsem na ol bai stap ol jas bilong yupela. | And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
Tasol sapos mi rausim ol spirit nogut long wok bilong Spirit bilong God, orait kingdom bilong God i kam pinis long yupela. | But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
O sapos nogat, wanpela i ken go insait long haus bilong strongpela man olsem wanem, na kisim ol kago bilong em, sapos em i no pasim rop samting long strongpela man pastaim? Na nau em bai kisim ol kago bilong haus bilong em. | Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
Em husat i no stap wantaim mi em i birua long mi. Na em husat i no bungim wantaim mi i brukbrukim nabaut ausait. | He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
Olsem na mi tokim yupela, God bai lusim rong bilong olgeta kain kain sin na tok bilas long ol man. Tasol God bai i no inap lusim rong bilong tok bilas i birua long Holi Spirit long ol man. | Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
Na husat man i toktok long wanpela toktok i birua long Pikinini Man bilong man, God bai lusim rong bilong em long dispela. Tasol husat man i toktok i birua long Holi Spirit, God bai i no inap lusim dispela rong bilong em, long dispela graun nau, na tu long skai na graun long kamap bihain. | And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Mekim diwai i gutpela, na kaikai bilong em gutpela. O sapos nogat, mekim diwai i bagarap, na kaikai bilong em bagarap. Long wanem, ol man bai save long diwai long kaikai bilong en. | Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
O lain tumbuna bilong ol vaipa, olsem wanem yupela, taim yupela i stap nogut, i ken toktok long ol gutpela samting? Long wanem, ausait long wanem samting bel i pulap planti moa yet long en maus bai toktok. | O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Gutpela man, ausait long gutpela samting i dia tru bilong bel, bai bringim ol gutpela samting i kam. Na man nogut, ausait long samting i dia tru i nogut bai bringim ol samting nogut i kam. | A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
Tasol mi tokim yupela, Long olgeta wan wan tok nating, dispela ol man bai toktok, ol bai givim stori gut long God long ol long de bilong kot. | But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Long wanem, long ol toktok bilong yu yu bai kamap stretpela, na long ol toktok bilong yu bai yu lus long kot. | For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
¶ Nau sampela bilong ol man bilong rait na bilong ol Farisi i bekim, i spik, Tisa, mipela i gat laik long lukim wanpela mak i kam long yu. | Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
Tasol em i bekim na tokim ol, Wanpela lain tumbuna nogut na i pulap long pasin bilong bagarapim marit long pamuk pasin i painim i bihainim wanpela mak. Na mi bai i no inap givim arapela mak long en, mak bilong profet Jonas tasol. | But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
Long wanem, olsem Jonas i stap tripela de na tripela nait long bel bilong weil, olsem tasol Pikinini Man bilong man bai stap tripela de na tripela nait long bel bilong dispela graun. | For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Ol man bilong Niniva bai kirap long kot wantaim dispela lain tumbuna, na ol bai sutim tok long en. Bilong wanem, ol i tanim bel long autim tok bilong Jonas. Na, lukim, wanpela i winim Jonas i stap hia. | The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
Kwin bilong hap saut bai kirap long kot wantaim dispela lain tumbuna, na em bai sutim tok long en. Long wanem, em i kam long ol las hap bilong dispela graun long harim save tru bilong Solomon. Na, lukim, wanpela i winim Solomon i stap hia. | The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
Taim spirit i no klin i lusim man i go ausait, em i wokabaut namel long ol ples i drai, na painim malolo, na em i no lukim liklik. | When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
Nau em i tok, Mi bai go bek insait long haus bilong mi we mi kam ausait long en. Na taim em i kam, em i lukim dispela i emti, ol i bin brumim, na bilasim. | Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
Nau em i go, na kisim wantaim em sevenpela arapela spirit i nogut moa long em yet, na ol i go insait na stap long dispela hap. Na las sindaun bilong dispela man i nogut moa long pastaim. Yes, olsem tasol bai em i stap tu long dispela lain tumbuna nogut. | Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
¶ Taim em i toktok yet long ol manmeri, lukim, mama bilong em na ol brata bilong em i sanap ausait, na ol i gat laik long toktok wantaim em. | While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
Nau wanpela i tokim em, Lukim, mama bilong yu na ol brata bilong yu i sanap ausait, na ol i gat laik long toktok wantaim yu. | Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
Tasol em i bekim na tokim em husat i tokim em, Husat em i mama bilong mi? Na husat em ol brata bilong mi? | But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
Na em i stretim han bilong em i go ausait i go long ol disaipel bilong em, na tok, Lukim mama bilong mi na ol brata bilong mi! | And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
Long wanem, husat man bai mekim laik bilong Papa bilong mi husat i stap long heven, em yet em i brata bilong mi, susa bilong mi, na mama bilong mi. | For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
