¶ Na Neomi i gat wanpela kandre bilong man bilong em, wanpela strongpela man bilong bikpela mani samting, bilong famili bilong Elimelek. Na nem bilong en em Boas. | And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.
Na meri Moap Rut i tokim Neomi, Larim mi go nau long bikpela gaden, na mumutim las hap bilong ol ia bilong bali bihain long em husat mi bai painim pinis marimari long ai bilong em. Na em i tokim em, Go, pikinini meri bilong mi. | And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.
Na em i go, na kamap, na mumutim las hap bilong kaikai long bikpela gaden bihain long ol man bilong kamautim kaikai. Na hap bilong em em bilong kamap long wanpela hap bilong bikpela gaden i bilong Boas, husat i kandre bilong Elimelek. | And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
¶ Na, lukim, Boas i lusim Betlehem i kam, na tokim ol man bilong kamautim kaikai, BIKPELA i ken stap wantaim yupela. Na ol i bekim tok long em, BIKPELA i ken blesim yu. | And, behold, Boaz came from Beth–lehem, and said unto the reapers, The Lord be with you. And they answered him, The Lord bless thee.
Nau Boas i askim wokboi bilong em husat em i putim long bosim ol man bilong kamautim kaikai, Dispela yangpela meri em i bilong husat? | Then said Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, Whose damsel is this?
Na wokboi husat em i putim long bosim ol man bilong kamautim kaikai i bekim na tok, Em i dispela yangpela meri Moap husat i kam bek wantaim Neomi ausait long kantri bilong Moap. | And the servant that was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitish damsel that came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab:
Na meri i bin tok, Mi askim yu plis, larim mi mumutim las hap bilong kaikai na bungim namel long ol mekpas bihain long ol man bilong kamautim kaikai. Olsem tasol em i kam, na em i bin stap olsem, yes, i stat long moning i kam inap long nau, long em i stap yet liklik insait long haus. | And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house.
Nau Boas i tokim Rut, Ating i yes long yu harim, pikinini meri bilong mi? No ken go mumutim las hap bilong kaikai long narapela bikpela gaden, o lusim hia, tasol stap hia pas klostu long ol yangpela meri bilong mi. | Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens:
Larim tupela ai bilong yu stap long dispela bikpela gaden ol i kamautim kaikai long en, na yu go bihainim ol. Ating i yes long mi bin givim tok long ol yangpela man long ol bai i no ken tasim yu? Na taim yu stap nekdrai, go long ol sospen samting, na dring long dispela samting ol yangpela man i bin pulimap. | Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn.
Nau meri i pundaun long pes bilong em, na lindaunim em yet long graun, na tokim em olsem, Bilong wanem mi bin painim pinis marimari long tupela ai bilong yu, inap long yu ken luksave long mi, taim yu luksave olsem mi ausait meri? | Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger?
Na Boas i bekim na tokim em, Ol i bin soim mi olgeta long olgeta samting yu bin mekim long tambu mama bilong yu, long taim man bilong yu i dai pinis i kam inap long nau, na long yu bin lusim papa bilong yu na mama bilong yu olsem wanem, na hap we mama i bin karim yu, na yu bin kam long wanpela lain manmeri husat yu no save long ol bipo. | And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.
BIKPELA i ken bekim pe long wok bilong yu, na wanpela pe i pulap God BIKPELA bilong Isrel i ken givim long yu, aninit long ol wing bilong husat yu bin putim bilip bilong yu. | The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.
Nau meri i tok, Larim mi painim gutpela amamas long ai bilong yu, bikman bilong mi. Long dispela, yu bin givim bel isi long mi, na long dispela, yu bin toktok olsem pren long wokmeri bilong yu, maski mi no stap olsem wanpela bilong ol wokmeri bilong yu. | Then she said, Let me find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens.
Na Boas i tokim em, Long taim bilong kaikai yu kam long hia, na kaikai long bret, na putim hap bret bilong yu liklik long vinega. Na meri i sindaun klostu long ol man bilong kamautim kaikai. Na man i givim bali i drai olgeta long meri, na meri i bin kaikai, na em i inap, na sampela i stap yet. | And Boaz said unto her, At mealtime come thou hither, and eat of the bread, and dip thy morsel in the vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers: and he reached her parched corn, and she did eat, and was sufficed, and left.
Na taim meri i kirap long go mumutim las hap bilong kaikai, Boas i mekim strongpela tok long ol yangpela man bilong em, i spik, Larim meri mumutim las hap kaikai, yes, namel long ol mekpas, na no ken givim sem long em. | And when she was risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Let her glean even among the sheaves, and reproach her not:
Na larim i pundaun tu sampela han i pulap bilong helpim em, na lusim ol, inap long em i ken mumutim las hap bilong kaikai bilong ol, na no ken hatim em. | And let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them, that she may glean them, and rebuke her not.
¶ Olsem na meri i mumutim las hap bilong kaikai long bikpela gaden inap long apinun tru, na paitim dispela em i bin mumutim. Na dispela i kamap klostu olsem wanpela ifa bilong bali. | So she gleaned in the field until even, and beat out that she had gleaned: and it was about an ephah of barley.
Na em i kisim dispela, na em i go insait long biktaun. Na tambu mama bilong em i lukim wanem samting em i bin mumutim. Na em i bringim ausait, na givim long em dispela em i bin holim bek bihain long em i kisim inap. | And she took it up, and went into the city: and her mother in law saw what she had gleaned: and she brought forth, and gave to her that she had reserved after she was sufficed.
Na tambu mama bilong em i askim em, Yu bin mumutim las hap bilong kaikai we tude? Na yu wok we? Blesing i stap long em husat i bin luksave long yu. Na em i soim tambu mama bilong em long em i bin wok wantaim husat, na tok, Nem bilong man husat mi wok wantaim tude em Boas. | And her mother in law said unto her, Where hast thou gleaned to day? and where wroughtest thou? blessed be he that did take knowledge of thee. And she shewed her mother in law with whom she had wrought, and said, The man’s name with whom I wrought to day is Boaz.
Na Neomi i tokim tambu pikinini meri bilong em, Blesing i stap long em long BIKPELA, husat i no bin lusim gutpela pasin bilong em long ol lain i stap laip na long ol lain i dai pinis. Na Neomi i tokim em, Dispela man em i wanpela kandre klostu bilong yumi, wanpela kandre klostu tru bilong yumi. | And Naomi said unto her daughter in law, Blessed be he of the Lord, who hath not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of kin unto us, one of our next kinsmen.
Na meri Moap Rut i tok, Em i tokim mi tu, Yu bai stap pas klostu long ol yangpela man bilong mi, inap long ol i bin kamautim pinis olgeta kaikai bilong mi. | And Ruth the Moabitess said, He said unto me also, Thou shalt keep fast by my young men, until they have ended all my harvest.
Na Neomi i tokim tambu pikinini meri bilong em Rut, Em i gutpela, pikinini meri bilong mi, long yu go ausait wantaim ol yangpela meri bilong em, inap long ol i no bungim yu long wanpela arapela bikpela gaden. | And Naomi said unto Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field.
Olsem na em i stap pas klostu long ol yangpela meri bilong Boas long mumutim las hap bilong kaikai inap long pinis bilong taim bilong kamautim bali na bilong kamautim wit. Na em i stap wantaim tambu mama bilong em. | So she kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to glean unto the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and dwelt with her mother in law.
