¶ Na insait long namba tu yia Nebukatnesar i bosim kingdom, Nebukatnesar i bin driman ol driman, na long dispela as spirit bilong em i pilim hevi, na slip i dai bilong em i bruk na i go longwe long em. | And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.
Long dispela taim king i mekim strongpela tok long singautim ol man bilong wokim posin, na ol posin man bilong bihainim ol sta, na ol posinman, na ol lain Kaldia, long ol i ken soim king ol driman bilong em. Olsem na ol i kam na sanap long pes bilong king. | Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
Na king i tok long ol, Mi bin driman wanpela driman, na spirit bilong mi i bin paul long save gut long dispela driman. | And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.
Long dispela taim ol lain Kaldia i tokim king long tokples Siriak, O king, yu mas stap laip oltaim oltaim. Yu tokim ol wokboi bilong yu long dispela driman, na bai mipela i soim as tingting bilong em. | Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.
King i bekim na tokim ol lain Kaldia, Dispela samting i hait long mi. Sapos yupela i no bai kliaim mi long driman, wantaim as tingting bilong em, ol bai katim yupela i kamap planti hap, na ol haus bilong yupela bai i kamap wanpela liklik maunten bilong hipim pekpek. | The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.
Tasol sapos yupela i soim klia dispela driman, na as tingting bilong en, bai mi givim long yupela ol presen na ol pe na bikpela ona. Olsem na soim mi dispela driman, na as tingting bilong em. | But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.
Na ol i bekim gen na tok, Larim king i tokim ol wokboi bilong em long dispela driman, na bai mipela i soim as tingting bilong en. | They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.
King i bekim na tok, Mi save tru olsem yupela bai pulim taim, long wanem yupela i luksave olsem dispela samting i lusim mi pinis. | The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
Tasol sapos bai yupela i no kliaim mi long dispela driman, i gat wanpela lo bilong yupela tasol. Long wanem yupela i bin redim ol tok giaman na ol tok i bagarap long tokaut long pes bilong mi, i go inap long taim bai i senis. Olsem na tokim mi long dispela driman, na bai mi save long yupela inap long soim mi dispela as tingting bilong em. | But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.
Ol lain Kaldia i bekim long pes bilong king na tok, I no gat wanpela man long dispela graun husat inap long soim dispela samting bilong king. Olsem na i no gat wanpela king, o wanpela bikman, o wanpela hetman i bin askim wanpela man bilong wokim posin, o wanpela posin man bilong bihainim ol sta, o wanpela man bilong lain Kaldia long dispela ol kain samting olsem. | The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.
Na em i wanpela narakain samting king i laik kisim, na i no gat wanpela narapela man em inap long soim dispela long pes bilong king, ol god tasol, ples ol i sindaun long em i no stap wantaim skin na mit. | And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.
Long dispela as king i kros na belhat tru, na em i mekim strongpela tok long bagarapim pinis olgeta saveman bilong Babilon. | For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
Na dispela lo i go ausait long olgeta saveman i mas i dai, na ol i wok long painim Danyel na ol poroman bilong em long kilim ol i dai. | And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.
¶ Long dispela taim Danyel i bekim tok wantaim tok bilong helpim na save tru i go long Ariok, dispela kepten bilong ol soldia bilong king, em man i bin go ausait long kilim i dai ol saveman bilong Babilon. | Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:
Em i bekim na tok long Ariok, kepten bilong king, Bilong wanem dispela lo i bin kam hariap tru long king? Long dispela taim Ariok i mekim dispela samting i klia long Danyel. | He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
Long dispela taim Danyel i go insait, na em i gat laik tru long king bai givim em sampela taim, long em i ken soim king dispela as tingting. | Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.
Long dispela taim Danyel i go long haus bilong em, na em i mekim dispela samting i klia long Hananaia, na Misel, na Asaraia, em i ol poroman bilong em. | Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:
Long ol i laik kisim ol sori bilong God bilong heven long dispela tok hait, nogut Danyel na ol poroman bilong em bai dai pinis wantaim ol arapela saveman bilong Babilon. | That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Long dispela taim, dispela tok hait i kamap klia long Danyel insait long wanpela samting olsem driman long nait. Long dispela taim Danyel i blesim God bilong heven. | Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Danyel i bekim na tok, Blesing i stap long nem bilong God oltaim oltaim. Long wanem save tru na strong i bilong Em. | Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
Na Em i senisim ol taim na ol taim bilong graun. Em i rausim ol king, na sanapim ol king. Em i givim pasin bilong yusim save tru i go long ol saveman, na save i go long ol husat i save long gutpela save. | And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
Em i mekim i kamap ples klia ol samting i daun na i hait. Em i save long ol samting i stap long tudak, na lait i stap wantaim Em. | He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
Mi tok tenkyu long Yu, na givim biknem long Yu, O Yu God bilong ol papa bilong mi, na Yu bin givim pasin bilong save tru na strong long mi, nau Yu bin kliam long mi dispela samting mipela i laik kisim long Yu. Long wanem nau Yu mekim i klia long mipela dispela samting bilong king. | I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.
¶ Olsem na Danyel i go long Ariok, em man king i bin makim long bagarapim ol saveman bilong Babilon. Em i go na tok olsem long em, Yu no ken bagarapim ol saveman bilong Babilon. Bringim mi i go long pes bilong king, na bai mi soim dispela as tingting long king. | Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.
Long dispela taim Ariok i bringim Danyel long pes bilong king hariap tru, na em i tok olsem long em, Mi painim pinis wanpela man bilong ol kalabus man bilong Juda, na em bai mekim king i klia long dispela as tingting. | Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.
King i bekim na tok long Danyel, nem bilong em i Beltesasar, Yu inap long mekim klia long mi dispela driman mi bin lukim, na as tingting bilong em? | The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
Danyel i bekim long pes bilong king na tok, Dispela samting hait king i bin tok strong long ol saveman, na ol posin man bilong bihainim ol sta, na ol man bilong wokim posin, na ol profet, ol i no inap soim long king. | Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;
Tasol i gat wanpela God long heven husat i soim ples klia ol samting i hait, na i mekim king Nebukatnesar i save wanem samting bai stap long ol las de. Driman bilong yu na ol samting olsem driman bilong het bilong yu long bet bilong yu, ol i olsem, | But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;
Na long sait bilong yu, O king, ol tingting bilong yu i bin kam insait long tingting bilong yu long bet bilong yu, em wanem samting bai i kamap bihain. Na Em husat i soim ples klia ol samting i hait, Em i mekim yu save long wanem samting bai kamap bihain. | As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.
Tasol bilong mi, dispela samting hait i no kamap ples klia long mi long sampela kain save tru mi gat na mi winim ol arapela manmeri, tasol bilong helpim ol bai mi mekim klia dispela as tingting i go long king, na tu long yu ken save long ol tingting bilong bel bilong yu. | But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.
¶ Yu, O king, bin lukim, na harim wanpela traipela piksa god. Dispela traipela piksa god, lait bilong em i nambawan, em i bin sanap long pes bilong yu. Na ausait bilong em i bin inap long pretim planti man. | Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
Het bilong dispela piksa god em i gol i klin tru, na bros na ol han bilong em i silva, na bel na bikpela hap bilong tupela lek bilong em i bras. | This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
Tupela lek bilong em i ain, na tupela fut bilong em i hap ain na hap strongpela graun. | His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
Yu bin lukuk i go inap long taim wanpela ston ol i no bin katim long ol han i bin kamaut. Em i bin paitim strong tupela fut bilong dispela piksa god i ain na strongpela graun, na ston i brukim ol i go long planti hap. | Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
Long dispela taim ain, na strongpela graun, na bras, na silva, na gol ol i bin bruk i go long planti hap wantaim, na ol i kamap olsem pipia bilong wit i save kamap taim man i paitim wit long plua long taim bilong biksan. Na win i karim ol i go longwe, inap long i no gat wanpela ples bilong ol. Na dispela ston husat i bin paitim dispela piksa god, em i bin kamap wanpela bikpela maunten, na pulapim olgeta hap bilong dispela graun. | Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
Dispela driman i olsem, na bai mipela i tokaut long as tingting bilong em long pes bilong king. | This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
Yu, O king, em i wanpela king bilong ol king. Long wanem God bilong heven i bin givim long yu wanpela kingdom, na pawa, na strong, na glori. | Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
Na long wanem hap ol pikinini bilong ol man i sindaun i stap, na ol animal bilong ples kunai na ol pisin bilong heven Em i bin givim olgeta i go long han bilong yu, na Em i bin putim yu i stap hetman bilong olgeta bilong ol. Yu stap dispela het bilong gol. | And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
Na bihain long yu bai narapela kingdom i sanap husat i daunbilo long yu, na narapela namba tri kingdom i bilong bras, na em bai mekim wok king long olgeta hap bilong dispela graun. | And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
Na strong bilong dispela namba foa kingdom bai i stap olsem ain, long wanem olsem ain i save brukim i go long planti hap na winim olgeta samting. Na olsem ain i save brukim dispela olgeta samting, em tu bai i brukim i go long planti hap na bagarapim. | And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
Na olsem yu bin lukim tupela fut na ol pinga bilong fut, em i hap bilong strongpela graun, na em i hap bilong ain, dispela kingdom bai i bruk. Tasol insait long em bai i stap strong bilong ain, olsem yu bin lukim ain i abusim wantaim ol strongpela graun i malumalu liklik. | And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
Na olsem ol pinga bilong fut i bin i stap hap bilong ain, na hap bilong strongpela graun, olsem tasol kingdom bai i gat hap i strong, na hap i bruk. | And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
Na olsem yu bin lukim ain i abusim wantaim ol strongpela graun i malumalu liklik, bai ol i abusim ol yet wantaim ol pikinini bilong ol man. Tasol bai ol i no pas wanpela wantaim narapela, yes olsem ain i no ken abusim strongpela graun. | And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
Na long ol de bilong ol dispela king bai God bilong heven i sanapim wanpela kingdom, na i no gat wanpela taim bai em i bagarap. Na kingdom i no inap stap samting bilong ol arapela manmeri, tasol em bai brukim i go long planti hap na bagarapim olgeta dispela olgeta kingdom, na em bai sanap oltaim oltaim. | And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
Na olsem yu bin lukim dispela ston i bin kamaut long maunten, na ol han i no bin katim, na em i bin brukim i go long planti hap dispela ain, na bras, na strongpela graun, na silva, na gol. Dispela bikpela God i bin soim klia long king long wanem samting bai i kamap bihain. Na dispela driman em i tru tumas, na tu as tingting bilong em i tru olgeta. | Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
Long dispela taim king Nebukatnesar i pundaun i go long pes bilong em, na em i lotuim Danyel, na mekim strongpela tok long ol i mas ofaim wanpela ofa na ol switpela smel i go long em. | Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.
King i bekim tok long Danyel na tok, Tru tumas, God bilong yu em i wanpela God bilong ol god, na wanpela Bikpela bilong ol king, na wanpela i bilong mekim ples klia ol samting i hait, long wanem yu inap mekim ples klia dispela samting i hait. | The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
Olsem na king i mekim Danyel i kamap wanpela bikman, na givim planti bikpela presen long em, na makim em hetman bilong olgeta hap bilong provins bilong Babilon, na hetman bilong ol gavman antap long olgeta saveman bilong Babilon. | Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.
Orait, Danyel i askim long king, na em i putim Satrak, na Misak, na Abetnigo, i bosim olgeta kain wok bilong provins bilong Babilon. Tasol Danyel i sindaun long dua bilong banis bilong king. | Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.
